OC design and story help

I have an OC that I'm using for a story. I just have her design because she was just made to fit a role in said story, but I want to make her more than that and develop her a little more. I'm stuck on a talent, job, and name for her. I was thinking that she would be a botanist named Honeysuckle... but I'm still thinking.

I would really love if you gave suggestions or changes to her design and for what she could be, thank you!

I like the design of her, what's her personality like?

As well as a botanist could be a good talent/job.

I would say her personality is very bubbly, but not like Pinkie Pie, more calm than that. She's always very happy and positive but denies things that go against the way she sees certain things (ex. someone says something bad about her family even if its true) this leads to her living in a very positive world on the outside even if she knows deep down things are going all wrong. I haven't developed her personality as much but I plan to as I write out my story

If you have a good imagination i'd almost suggest joining a casual Roleplay with your OC. Sometimes you'll find yourself speaking as your character would so it let's you really get inside their heads to understand in depth who they are.  :)

as to a background that may work for her depending on how you like it (sorry it's so long especially if you don't like it):

She could of come from a broken family, perhaps slightly more on the poor side with a larger number of siblings. Most of the time the family argues getting at each others throat, while honeysuckle (using this name for now) tried to stay out of the arguments because she hated conflict. One day perhaps she comes across pinkie pie or a similar pony, who is very happy and cheerful able to cheer up anyone they meet. Seeing this makes her realize that perhaps she can help her family the same this other pony cheers up others. Honeysuckle adopts this bubbly personality and brings it to her family. She manages to bring the family together with her positive personality helping them all to forget their less then favorable situation. So she becomes the glue holding her family together. So perhaps to help handle the stress of being the epicenter of her family she takes up gardening to help her relax and take her mind off things. This could be how she learns of her talent and receives her cutie mark.

Eventually she grows up and goes out on her own to live her own life hoping her family will be able to remain together.

After a while of her leaving she hears of her family finally splitting apart and going their own separate ways, even her parents separated. She ended up feeling depressed that she allowed it to happen but continues to live her life hiding her pain behind a smile. Honeysuckle refuses to allow her smile to wither, even when people speak of negative topics around her she tries to redirect the conversation to a cheerier note.

Because of the stress of hiding this pain and refusing to let it out and vent about it, she delves deeper and deeper into her garden so she constantly has her mind distracted. Some day she meets another pony who can see the pain she is keeping bottled up. It is hard for them to get close to her, after becoming friends the pony finally convinces her to open up to them, letting out many years worth of pain and stress. After a few emotional hours Honeysuckle will feel much better, she still feels a lingering pain from her past but she is finally able to smile for real for the first time in many years at the sight of her friend (or romantic interest)

oh my god this is amazing, thank you so much. This will definitely help me map out her personality more. I'm definitely keeping this backstory for her if you don't mind! :D

Sorry but no you can't use it, just an example... JK it's all yours :)

As well as another name I thought of was Honey Blossom

And thanks to flushing her out I think I have an idea for a romantic interest for my current OC i just started writing :)

If you need anymore help feel free to PM me, I like helping with character concepts and depth as well as plots

A cutie mark I thought of for her could be a rose with a heart in the center of the bud.

if the stem is shown probably have it with no thorns

So the mark would represent he talent in gardening as well as her capacity to show compassion for others. the stem with no thorns also represents that she detests causing pain, she will do whatever she can to prevent it

Also thought of something that could cause her to Crack under all the stress, if her garden were to be ruined. Whether it be some animals go to it a wrecked it something else
