Maybe they'll do something unique and risky, in an effort to boost public standing?

....HAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHHHAHAHHAHA

Sorry man, but this series is stagnant. If you like the current gameplay (and I'm not saying it sucks) than how about they make new maps and guns as DLC instead of a whole 'nother friggin vidya gaem?

Treyarch has always been known to innovate the franchise. I have full confidence in them.

Agreed.  I also like Exo-suits in Advanced Warfare but I feel they should stay a thing for that series.

But the whole "CoD is the same thing every year!" is an easy go-to complaint from people who don't even play the games.  A think a good way to describe CoD is that it is the hamburger of gaming.  The core is the same, and easy to digest but you can take toppings off them and add new ones and it retains what people like, but tastes very different.

I'm not a fanboy either.  I detest Ghosts.  I can admit when they screw up.  But the haters are getting more tiresome than the games, because ironically all they can do is copy and place the same criticism about how awful it is that they copy and paste.

Huge Treyarch fan.  Can't wait.

I sure as heck haven't seen any. And, just for clarification's sake, I didn't say the gameplay was bad, just that it's repetitve.

Ghosts really put me down off of the series, (i'm surprised I still have that game in my librarby) and I didn't even bother getting Advanced Warfare. Black Ops II has been the only Call of Duty game I have been able to go back to with no problem ( and always put in work on Multiplayer) so I am actually looking forward to Black Ops III, but I shouldn't get my hope up high just yet. I'll follow the news on this one to see if I will get it or not.

I had massive hopes for Ghosts, only to be given a pile of elephant shit covered in cheap aftershave! I got my hopes up for AW, to be handed a game that tried too hard to be MLG at the cost of the original games fun and enjoyment factors! And whilst i loved the black ops series (including W@W) the most out of the COD franchise, i can not see this game living up to any hype it recieves! It will just be the same multiplayer experience as always, a rushed campaign that screams AMERICA, FUCK YEA! and a zombie experience that has no relevent story lines to the last two games apart from a voice over or flash back! So in my eyes this is a game series that should have been put to rest A LONG TIME AGO!

I'll only consider buying it if it offers an interesting story, a good amount of exploration, allows the player to take whatever approach to combat they choose, and they ditch their dependency on catering to kids with short attention spans.

Since player freedom is apparently too much to ask in a modern military shooter, I'll just wait for the next Metro game.

Not so much innovation but moreso new features and ways to play.

MW2 - Customizable Killstreaks

Blops - Party Games that use specific weapons and rules and allow you to gamble resources on matches (Good social fun)

MW3 - Support, Assault, Specialist streaks which are earned differently and suit different playstyles and reward different styles of play.

Blops2 - Did away with Kilstreaks and made rewards based on contribution.  Makes camping less practical and rewards active play. The Pick10 loadout system allowed for unique class builds that were more than just filling slots with favorite weapons.

Ghosts - Uhhh....  Not much admittedly.

Advanced Warfare - Biggest shakeup.  Jetpacks and Exo abilities which allow for very unique feeling classes that don't rely on loadouts and perks.  Camping is next to impossible.  All streaks can be outfitted with perks that allow them to function as completely different streaks, allow you to build your own turrets, UAVs, ships that suit very unique playstyles.

Of course this will all sound like garbage or meaningless if you aren't someone playing it.  But you notice a difference when you really dedicate time to each.

Was personally hoping for something different since Sledgehammer did Zombies.  I know it's traditionally been Treyarchs thing.  Hopefully they can add a new mode so they can have a unique thing still.

Also.  You know what Black Ops 3 means?  More Nuketown!

Understandable.  But yes.  It keeps the same basic framework and core gameplay because it works well...  Whenever I ask "What would you do with CoD" their answer falls along the line of describing something that isn't CoD.  There's only so much you can do with Domination and Capture the Flag.  New modes, new features, improving on weaknesses, adding new ways to play.

CoD I believe is the ultimate case study for schadenfreude in video games.  Fortunately it's dying down.  I think MW3 was the height of the CoD hate bandwagon.

Black Ops II actually introduced branching paths and alternate endings in it's campaign, which was both a nice shake up to the linear campaigns the series usually has, and was really nice especially for people who like their single player(yes there are people who play shooters for single player)

Plus at least Treyarch at least tries shake things up

I am one of those people who play Shooter's for single player.

(DARKFORCESDARKFORCESDARKFORCES)

But, yeah, the haters are annoying. I do believe the game is crippled by most of the game being multiplayer, and most of the players on multiplayer being idiots.

Yeah how could I forget that?  That was awesome.  Also there's a lot of nuclear bombs in the promotional material.  So following Black Ops cold war theme....  Blops 1: The Original Cold War.  Blops 2: Second Cold War involving drones.   Blops 3:  Third cold war turns hot?  Post-nuclear CoD?

I am curious to see what they will bring to the table, but I am not really excited.

Now, I am a huge fan of Call of Duty so you might wonder why I am not excited, now let me explain. Black Ops II is my favorite CoD of all time, no doubt. I play it all the time and by now I should have over 500 000 kills in total. When Ghosts and AW came out I did not change game, I kept played BO2 because I did not feel the need to change game since I enjoyed BO2 so much. I am sure that Treyarch can make a brilliant game with BO3, but the reason why I don't really care a lot is because of the current generation of consoles. I have my Xbox 360 and I am not planning to spend lots of money to buy a Xbox One just to play one game, no matter how good the game is. Also, I don't really see the point to get it on 360 when most people will be playing on Xbox One.

Personally, I think it would have been more exciting if they did a WaW2, but who knows what will be in BO3.
