Yay Nashville won and Pittsburgh lost! :)
My predictions for round 1

EAST:
PIT vs. PHI: Philadelphia wins in game 7
NYR vs. OTT: Tough I don't like the Rangers I think they will win against Ottawa
WSH vs. BOS: Don't really like both of the teams but I think Boston's stronger
FLO vs. NJD: Devils win all the way hopefully

WEST:
VAN vs. LAK: That's gonna be a close one but I think VAN will win 4:2
STL vs. SJS: The Blues will hopefully beat SJS
PHX vs. CHI: I think Chicago's gonna win but I will cheer for Phoenix
NSH vs. DET: Nashville's hopefully gonna win but it will be close

Anyways Devils vs. Blues would be my favorite finale. LET'S GO DEVILS!

Well I missed the rest of NSH/DET game 1 but I heard there was some naughty things done at the final whistle? I won't watch it because I'm afraid it'll piss me off right before bed. I'll just say I don't expect any suspensions because normally post-game shenanigans never get punished. Although under the new reign of the Shanahammer, we'll know tomorrow if he'll either stay the course or start a new precedent for post-game stuff in the playoffs.

The cynic in me didn't expect a suspension for Weber, but the homer in me wanted it.

The cynic won.

Here's what I put on my facebook: So if U.S. law enforcement was the NHL, I could shoot someone non-fatally in the kneecaps, but if he shows up to work the next day, I get off with nothing. Good deal. NHL been taking lessons from the CCHA. Gongshow ALL the hockey leagues!

Rangers up 1-0. Looks like the rampage might hold off if They can win this series.

So Weber was fined, but Bitz gets 2 games. Hmm i know the Bitz hit was from behind, but isn't slamming someone's head in to the glass worthy of a suspension? I'd think so.. Although, this is the NHL :/

For all the emphasis on reducing blows to the head during the regular season, they hypocritically slap Weber on the wrist for slamming a guy's HEAD into the dasher. Zetterberg's helmet cracked in 3 places from it. Sure he wasn't hurt immediately after and he's in the lineup tonight, but what happens if concussion symptoms begin to show in a few days or a week later?

I want retribution from somewhere tonight, but not at the expense of going down 0-2 in the series. If Kronwall has a chance in the play to do his usual wrecking ball hit into Weber, go for it, but don't go out of the play seeking it.

I agree, The NHL says they want to get rid of hits to the head and stuff like that, but when it happens (Weber incident) they give him a fine of $2,500. Which to him is like a parking ticket.

Yes, if he must get retribution for the incident, it's wise to not let it effect his focus on the game. Because you just can't afford to go down 0-2 in a playoff series.

Side Note: Go Canucks, Flyers, Red Wings, Florida! (I think a Nucks vs Wings series would be very entertaining)

This Philly/Pitts series is really entertaining :o

Yay Red Wings tying the series up 1-1. That's why I don't mind not having home ice. So much pressure to win games 1 and 2 if you're the home team.

Also yay Flyers (hate Crosby/Pittsburgh) and yay Kings (underdogs)

I gotta say, Vancouver has A++ music selection during stoppages and breaks. So many sweet songs played on the organ lol.

Wouldn't it be crazy if all four higher seeds lost in the first round? Vancouver 0-2, St. Louis 0-1, well Phoenix is up 1-0, but Nashville tied 1-1

That would give the Wings home ice for the next 2 rounds lol.

I only saw a few seconds of highlights but damn tonight's Ottawa/Rangers game looked brutal. I saw one Sens player just wailing on a Ranger along the boards (Dubinsky?) then on Twitter I see Carl Hagelin (former U. of Michigan star who I've seen play the past 3 years) is going to have a hearing about a hit on Alfredsson.
