Most shocking gaming moment

During my breaks from Heroes of the Storm I've been playing through my classic favorite games. It got me to thinking what is the most shocking moment I experienced through my gaming life. I could probably write a damn book explaining my shocking moments. However good or bad I was able to discover it.

The first time I played Metal Gear Solid 2. Even though I grew up gaming MGS1 along with FF7 are the titles that made me a gamer for life. I remember starting MGS2 for the first time and I was blown away!! The story left off perfectly from the Shadow Moses incident. I see Russians invading a Marine ship with a Metal Gear on Board, and then the legendary Ocelot taking out a lot of soldiers with his revolvers. Then all of a sudden your evil twin Liquid possesses Ocelots body through his arm , jumps into the Metal Gear and sinks the ship along with everyone in it... ok now shit is getting weird but it is MGS so I roll with it.

Now the most shocking surprising moment for me happens and I don't know if it;s good or bad. I hear a familiar voice in Campbell talking to me calling me Snake, but the guy responding doesn't sound nearly as cool as Snake. All of a sudden I'm playing the rest of this game as this Raiden dude I had never heard of. Even though I ended up loving the game after all having to play as this blonde wussy really pissed me off considering I just wanted to play as Snake was the most shocking moment for me.

Shout out to the Aerith death in FF7 as a close second.

The "suicide" of MGS 4, and then finding out that he didn't do it.

Also, playing Kingdom Hearts 2, and getting to Sephiroth, and the intense shock that I had when he instantly brought my health down to one, teleported in front of me, and smacked me, instantly killing me. Thanks, Kingdom Hearts, I was DEFINITELY prepared for that one. :sunbutt:

The white phosperous incident from Spec ops: the line. In a game designed to tell you that you are a terrible person by goving you choices that rarely end well, the first time you use the stuff is the most shocking part. After the cutscene that followed it, i had to turn off my playstation and just lay down for a half hour. My friend actually went to a theropist because of how shocking it was!

Echos my thoughts entirely, that whole game is something else. Amazing, yet manipulative at the same time. One of the best stories I think I've played, and the reveal at the end is the icing on the cake.

The whole Sixth age and killing off a god deal in RuneScape was kinda suprising/shocking considering nothing had changed lore-wise with that game for all those years I had been playing it. It ended up being surprisingly sad too.

My most shocking gaming moment was either the storage room in silent hill 3, since it kills you in a very scary way or the ending to Silent Hill Shattered Memories.

Oh, and if this counts : The moment i heard that the producers of the Obscure Games Hydravision have closed down and they will probably never be an Obscure 3  :(

Also the cancellation of Silent Hills and the release of a Pachinko machine based on Silent Hill...just...why?  :ooh:

The worst possible endings of Mass Effect 3.  You can devastate the entire galaxy and kill off pretty much every plot-relevant race in the series in the process OR refuse to activate the Crucible and stop the reapers which goes completely against the entire point of its plot, dooming every plot-relevant organic race to extinction at the hands of the reapers.  The logic behind Shepard's explanation for the refusal ending is pretty shaky, too.

I was a noob at Smash Bros. It was only when I recently mained PAC-MAN. I didn't know what all the buttons did, so I stuck with side and 1. (I used nothing but the Wii remote) I also used Hydrant a lot. Tilts, aerials, smashes, specials, I knew nothing. I sucked at Smash. The people I was playing against, who were my cousin and my bro, were very decent, but I surprisingly beat them. I felt amazing.

Not gonna lie, the whole story of Shadow of the Colossus is more than enough to leave me in tears every time. I know the narrative is enigmatic at best, but after all, I guess that's what makes it so special. The music, the beautiful graphics and scenery, they are all impressive but there's always an atmosphere of sadness and despair. The death that hits me the hardest has to be Phalanx's. He's the most peaceful of the colossi after all. And the whole battle against Malus, not only has Wander been separated from Agro and has lost all his humanity, there's also the equally heart-wrenching landscape as you confront the boss himself. It's a game that has truly aged well. Anyway, I sure am looking forward to The Last Guardian.

The truth ending in MGS V was something, even I didn't expected. That sure was a surprise

But also mission 43 of it really made me feel bad

BB has to shoot infected members of his base to avoid an outbreak further then the quaranty zone. However this is shown brutally and yourself playing and shooting them one by one. I wish I could had avoid it, ut yur forced too. You lose ike 50 comrades on that day

I was playing TF2 and I exploded and my dismembered body parts caught on fire. The game zoomed straight into that shit, it was beautiful. I think I'll use it as the cover for my upcoming mixtape.

This goes back to the 90's when I was still a kid, but it was one of the most shocking moments in gaming to me...  however despite the game being over 20 years old I still feel I should put this in spoiler as it is one of the best moments to me.

Two words...

Kefka wins... halfway through Final Fantasy 6, Kefka kills the emperor of Gestahl, takes the power of god and destroys the world.  Not to mention killing of General Leo and if you don't wait Shadow dies as well.  That moment was one of the most shocking and best moments in gaming to me
