Everyday Things People Do That Annoy You

Are there things that people do everyday, small, simple stuff that are very common occurrences that should not annoy you, but it does anyway.

I hate being asked how I'm doing. I don't think about it very often. It's not high on my priorities, thinking about how I'm doing. Most of the time, I feel indifferent or apathetic. But most people don't want to hear that. But I don't want to lie to them either and say I'm good when I'm not.

But is it really any of their business to know how I'm doing? Why should they care? What do they get out of it? Am I a bad person for getting asked "How are you doing today?" and saying "None of your business"?

How about you? Any little things things people do everyday that irritate you?

This isn't really an "every day" thing, but I remember getting super irritated when people woukd randomly stop in front of me in the hallways in high school. Or, a group of friends would form in the hallway; almost taking up all the space other students had to walk in. That always annoyed me.

One thing is that people who blast their TVs to obnoxiously high levels. You've no idea how annoying that is for me. I'm like to myself, "why the fuck are you blasting your TV so loud?" Also related are people talking loud. Yeah, I do too but there's a thing: I can't help it, sadly.

Another thing that people do that annoys me easily: Tapping objects. Pencils in particular because I'm usually trying to concentrate on something, then someone obnoxiously taps their pencil and everyone's looking at them.

Incorrect usage of the words "your" "you're" and that third one which I forget at this moment.

Mis-shortening my name. It's Bron or Slavik. Anything else is incorrect.

(Fandom specific) Assuming everyone who likes pony is a brony. I prefer fan of the show.

There are a few things I guess that people do that annoy me.

1) Throw a ball against the wall separating my dorm from their dorm like I can't hear the ball colliding with the wall. Happened a few days ago and one time it was 1AM.

2) People talking over me when I am in the middle of a sentence for a completely unrelated topic to the person I'm talking to. Still pretty common despite me telling them that they do it.

3) People making unsubstantiated claims and just telling me that I am wrong, because I am wrong and they believe themselves to be right and when I back up all my claims with peer reviewed journals they say I wasted my time because they refuse to read any of it because they don't have time while they post blog posts and top 10 clickbait articles to prove their points. Used to be pretty common when I enjoyed debating.

4) People assuming things about myself because I classify myself as an atheist. Not too common, but has happened too much.

5) People who put the F-word into every single sentence and replaces every period with "You know what I mean?" (Really... I know such a person). College Freshmen.

6) Butthurt gamers/smack talking gamers. Who cares, it's a game. You beat me in a fictional world, doesn't improve your life in the slightest. League of Legends, must I say more?

7) People trying to convert me (sort of ties in to 4). Not overly too common, but it has happened far too often.

8) People assuming that because I enjoy furry art that I must like bestiality. I just find it fresh to see non-human, yet humanesque art. I find it creative. Facebook people and people who see me drawing not pony related materials.

9) People who write messages like how they talk. I'm talking about the barely legible stuff. Normally in comment sections of articles or facebook.

10) People who have no integrity. We were to give presentations to the class. Person was called up to present and the teacher told her to present to the class as he left for a bathroom break and she just stood in front of the class saying how dumb the class was and how she is just going to pretend that she presented. 50% of the grade is student grading. I know many people probably gave her a perfect score too, but I graded her fairly on what the grading criteria was and gave comments as per requested. She stated her purpose which was worth 5 points and then she stopped. I graded her visual aid, and she answered a question so she got full points there. Everything else, I failed her and wrote out what she did. You can call it snitching or whatever, but when you are in a class that is teaching you how to be a proper scientist and you don't take it seriously and have no integrity as a student or a scientist, I have zero respect for you as a person and I will grade you accordingly. Lack of integrity I see fairly common in college.

And there is my top 10. Woo!

One thing I have to put up with every day is someone who puts "your mum" and "same" into 95% of their conversation.

E.g. Me: "I want to get (object)" Person: "Same" Me: "but you don't even know what I'm talking about" Person: "your mum doesn't know what you're talking about"

It really annoys me as it can go on for up to half hour of this pointless 'joking'

I really dislike when people talk loud or speak in a language that I can't understand that isn't native to the country. Another thing that disturbs me would be when people tell me things I already know or they don't know common sense.

Not closing the door before they leave my room no matter how many times I tell them to close it on their way out it's like my words just do not reach them.

You're not the only one dealing with this problem.

I don't like it when I'm trying to get somewhere and a bunch of people in front of you are walking like turtles. I deal with this in public sometimes, but it happens mostly at school. :/

When I am in the same room as people who think they are so cool+ talk loud like everyone has trouble hearing. I wish some people weren't so obnoxious (especially the freshman).

People saying something that is completely irrelevant to a topic. Seriously people.

Slow walkers? I don't mind them except when they're intentionally rude. Like if you try to get by them and they make some big deal out of it. I also don't like it when people stop to talk to each other...in front of a busy doorway! Like seriously. What in the world.

Also, chewing with your mouth open. Don't do it. I will spitball you in the eye.  >_>

I don't like it when people stand in front of doorways like that. Like the other day I was walking to my Stats class when I noticed three people blocking the doorway to the classroom. I said excuse me and they looked at me like I had three heads.

How could I forget chewing with your mouth open? That's one of my pet peeves. It's not only rude but extremely gross!

Been there, unfortunately. It's why that's one of my peeves. Sometimes I wonder if it's me or other people that were raised on another planet where reason, logic, and manners are strange and alien. Besides the gross factor, the chewing thing gets me with the smacking sound. It makes me want to shove my head into three feet of sand so I don't have to hear it. lol

Oh my god yes.  I hate constantly being asked how I'm doing by employees in every store I go in.  I'm not outgoing, and I'd rather not answer.  They don't care, anyway.  I also hate lying, even for something silly like this.  Somehow, I feel like a little piece of me dies every time I say "fine", when the truth is that I wish I was dead.  But the thing is, deep down, I long to live in a FIM-like world where everyone is friendly and outgoing, and friendship is just a greeting away.  But that doesn't suddenly mean that I am outgoing in real life, or that I want to talk to people that are clearly just paid to be friendly to customers.  I think that employees should only ever ask, "Do you need help finding anything?"  Or better yet, "Let us know if you need help."  Then I don't even have to answer.  But these obligatory exchanges that employees and customers do everywhere just drive me nuts.

*Spoken extremely quickly and deadpan, as if it's not even a question, hence no question marks*

"Hi how are you."

"Good how are you."

"Good thanks."

Ugggghhh....my dad does this with the servers every time we go out to eat.  It just....idk, eats away at me.  Sometime I'm going to snap and tell the truth when someone asks how I am.

I'll add my own thing that annoys me: when people spit on the sidewalk.  It's incredibly rude and repulsive.  Now, I can understand when an athlete needs to do this.  And this goes for anyone physically exerting themselves.  Being athletic myself, I know that when you go for a long run, your saliva becomes so thick it's like molasses, and you can't swallow it.  That's why I'm understanding and tolerant of a runner spitting in the dirt or bushes, off the sidewalk.  But when people just stroll into the grocery store and hock on the sidewalk as they walk....it just feels me with contempt.  In case these people were unaware, a new study has shown that your own saliva is not actually toxic to you, and you won't die if you swallow it!  I've actually heard some people say, "But my spit is gross, and I don't want to swallow it."  So, how do you think it makes others feel when you spray it all over the f*ckin place where others walk?  (And yet I still can't convince my parents to take their shoes off when they come in the house.)

Hm..... phrases students use to insult me.. "You're useless", "You ruin people's lives", "You're the problem here", I hear this everyday. I tried to ignore it, but it comes into my brain and I get mad easily when I hear something like these...

A lot.

'What are you drawing?'

'Draw this.'

'You shouldn't be drawing in class' (Keep in mind I draw when my work is finished)

I showed a girl in class one of my drawings because I like her and she said it looked nice and unique. This girl (Someone who bullies me) said 'No, that's horrible and ugly.'

and -

'You should just shut up.'

'Mind your own business' (I was sticking up for my friend)

'Why don't you want to have a boyfriend?'

(insert constant questions about my aspergers here)

uggggggh
