It seems that cartoon fans current favorite wipping boy, is Nickelodeon, and it's easy to see why. Terrible Live-Action content, cheap Cartoon Network Knock-offs, 8 hour SpongeBob marathons a day, and any sort of decent content (Korra, TMNT, and Harvey Beaks) getting under promoted and constantly shifted around the schedule. But as much as us adult folk complain, are there kids who share the same opinions? Children while an impressionable audience, are not stupid. Though not as refined, they have tastes just like any other human being. And though naive, they're not the brainless drones Nick thinks they are.

With this in mind, does anyone know kids in Nick's 2-11 year old target audience that doesn't even bother with the network, and instead goes to other outlets like CN, Disney XD, Discovery Family, or even Netflix?

I don't know any kid personally that actually "likes" Nickelodeon. All I know are parents who leave it on the TV and park their kids in front of it

Nickelodeon went from entertainment to shilling some product, their theme park, or some social or educational message, plus it is this lack of balance between entertaining or informing, the different audience in attendance, from age, to gender, to ethnic background, early Blues Clues was fun and educational, before it degenerated into some pandering junk food for the mind. Nickelodeon also keeps cartoons going too long, such as Sponge Bob, Fairly Odd Parents and Dora the Explorer, they have lost their edge, and freshness, now they just exist doing the same old shtick, like a comedy routine that has worn out its welcome, and past its prime, the Cartoon Network was similar to Dexter's Laboratory and Powerpuff Girls, but they did the wise thing and let them end, to Nickelodeon they give it attention, but it is not the attention that is giving Nickelodeon a positive light. Children are smart, and they grow up and mature in various ways, something charts and graphs, might misunderstand, they will pander to their focus groups leaving out a broader audience, so if Nickelodeon wants to keep to its strategy, time will catch up them, as their focus groups grown to maturity.

There are kids who hate Nickelodeon but not every kid. I mean there are some kids who love Spongebob and to a lesser extent Harvey Beaks, Legend of Korra, or TMNT. There might even be some kids who like Sanjay & Craig or Breadwinners. And they have live action shows that are pretty bad. Let me admit Disney XD is guilty of live action shows too. Though I feel like cartoons on other networks are more watchable and polished.
