Is Pinkie Pie the best role model of all time?

Um, no. She isnt a BAD role model, but honestly she is childish (both her biggest strength and biggest flaw at the same time), and I often times get annoyed when she does something insensitive and she gets away with it. For one, "Filli Vanilli" comes to mind, she kept being told to knock it off yet she keeps on doing it. And lets not forget "Luna Eclipsed" where she keeps on acting scared just for laughs, insensitive to Luna's pain.

But, no, I dont hate her.

Good heavens no. Pinkie is a terrible role model. She's not all there in the head, she is completely addicted to sugar and sweets, and Pinkie has a tendency to do things that defy the laws of physics.

Well, that's all subjective on who's the best role model. Personally, I would look up to Pinkie as a role model due to me kind of relating to her. But hey, someone could find Rainbow Dash or Twilight good role models due to what they do. RD has aspiring goals and Twilight is smart and has a good job and people would look up to that. Pinkie would also be good, as her optimistic view on life can be a good role model especially for depressed people.

Personally I think it depends on the personality type you look up to. While she is an awesome pony, and an asset to the group/town, I personally am glad she's balanced out with more serious types like Rarity and Twilight.  ;) Creativity and a love of knowledge are things I click with, while Pinkie's lack of reverence would sometimes be disheartening. However, I think she's a great rolemodel in terms of taking joy in making people happy, and always treating things with an upbeat tone of thought.  :) So, yes she's a great role model in that sense, but I wouldn't say she's the best ever unless she's exactly what you want to be.

I love Pinkie Pie, but i have to say no.

  1. She doesn't have a healthy lifestyle
  2. She can be annoying
  3. Kids may think her cartoony stuff can happen and pull their friends' faces.
  4. She doesn't understand personal space.
  5. She's friends with a pony you think is a bad influence.

Pinkie Pie may be a good role model for optimism, but overall, she's not great for a role model.

I agree and disagree with a bunch of posts here... I personally want to be like her. Sure she's childish, but aren't we too mature? Where the hay is the innocence of growing up and being an adult? There isn't any. She may do things and get away with them, but that's because she always has pure intentions. She always is kind, and will put a smile on anypony's face. If she makes you frown, she'll try to turn it upsidedown. Perfect isn't the word, but keeping that word a goal is definitely the statement I'd make. :) <--- Look, Pinkie is smiling, which means she approves. XD

I think she's more of a bad role model. She's way over-energetic and can sometime be a little obnoxious/rude. She may always be smiling, but she needs more depth of character (if you ask me).

I think Applejack is a better all-around role model.

IMO, Pinkie is the perfect example of Shakespeare's line "A man may smile and smile and still be a villain" (or McLuhan's comment about the triumph of style over substance).  She has a real mean streak.  I point to

Her treatment of Gilda in Griffon the Brush Off (her treatment of Fluttershy shows she does have limits)

Her taunting Dash in Super Speedy Cider Squeezy

Her treatment of Twilight in 1st half of Feeling Pinkie Keen

Her remarks about Fluttershy in Milli Filli

She gets by with it because she is the "class clown" of the group & no one takes her seriously (She saw the down side of this in Baby Cakes)  Plus, she has the rare virtue of being able to take a joke on herself.  She reminds me of Larry in the Weird Al song I Remember Larry.

Don't get me wrong, I like her (she's silly).  Still, a role model?  Not only no, but Hell No!

And you arent baiting? You should have just ignored what i said. But, please, tell me how Luna is "entitled"? Is itt because she wants to have the same perks her sister has, to be treated with respect and love, not fear? No one would dare do that same crap to Celestia. BTW if you follow the show you would know Nightmare Moon is NOT Luna but an entirely different entity that possessed her body and fed on her envy. So blaming her for Nightmare Moon's actions is pretty dumb.

Or, are you just the kind of person who likes to start things. Seriously, get some empathy and put yourself in Luna's hooves. Because how you are acting is VERY un-Pinkie Pie (she wasnt doing those things to purposely antagonize Luna, unlike you who has some sort of weird hatred of her)

I sense biased dash twilight and Luna fans you guys are just mad your favorite character got trolled. I personally thought all those things are funny and being funny doesn't make you a bad role model. Being a no fun killjoy is please try to rethink your opinions without letting these characters cloud your judgement. Did pinkie really be mean to Luna dash and twi? Nope not at all she was just having fun I get it you don't like seeing your pony waifu hurt. I know I hate it when a character makes pinkie cry. So no those things don't make her a bad role model at all.

Um, wow, so just because I feel some sort of empathy for a character doesnt mean i want them to be my waifu. I have a girlfriend.

Also, yeah, you say its wrong for us to be upset when someone upset our favorite character (heck, Luna isnt even my favorite character nor is Dash), but its perfectly fine for YOU to be upset when someone upsets Pinkie.

All im saying is Pinkie needs to be more sensitive to others. To understand theres a time and a place for laughs. What if she tried this same crap on someone who might have been suicidal? Of course she would never do anything purposely malicious, but her insensitive nature might have big consequences.

Also, who says im holding a grudge? Pinkie ISNT worse pony. No one is saying that.

Though, you still didnt answer WHY Luna deserved the "trolling" or how she is entitled.

It just didnt bothered me I am sorry. I rolled my eyes at it because she was acting like she was one of the kids and that costume is still ridiculous. She does need to be more senestive and not get so caught up in the moment. I felt like she has gotten better with that minus that dumb scene in filli vanilli :| Well Luna expected ponies to accept her right away and not be scared at first. She kept using the royal cantorlot voice that wasn't helping at all sure pinkie shouldn't have been acting like one of the kids that just made things worse. I am sure they know she wasn't Nightmare Moon but still they had a hard time letting ago of a fear they held for so long. Then there's the fact that she didn't know they were playing scared yeah....Maybe if someone actually said something maybe no one had to get hurt. I remember why I disliked episode the whole thing could have been solved if someone just told her it was fake. So in that case when acting like one of the kids she isnt a good role model but again that's subjective.

Just a little bit... I'm tired of seriousness... :P

Same here I had to ditch a friend because they were too serious. They got mad at me for trying to cheer them up they wanted me there they just didnt want me to tell jokes or anything. Well that;s the thing when i am nervous i tend to tell jokes.

That was genuine fear they felt, making Luna feel like the villain wasn't right. But it was great for her fist episode as Luna, not NMM. But pinkie was hurting the situation by ruining every attempt to calm the ponies down. But also her accusing Luna of trying to hurt Fluttershy. Luna just didn't understand friendship that well or how to approach the problem; Twilight was the only one who understood what was going on.

I feel like Pinkie Pie would hate me if she was real. I can take a joke, but if I don't know someone is joking, I think they are just being mean. I especially can't tell if someone is joking online because I can't read any signs of a joke. Also, when people tell jokes in the same tone that they say anything else, I won't know they are joking. I can take a joke, but everything thinks I can't because I never know when someone is joking.

I also don't do insult comedy. I can't ever see what's so funny about putting someone else down.

Whether Pinkie is a good role model is relative. For me, she is. She helped me with my social anxiety, and I'm not as pessimistic. I still have the extreme irrational fear of fictional characters hating me. (Even knowing they aren't real.) But I know Pinkie Pie can cheer me up.

Well... her singing, but it's still her. :)

I watched Smile HD, and Smile Smile Smile still cheers me up. You know what doesn't? A dead music player. (That happened yesterday.)
