This has been brought up in many places, but: How old would you say the mane 6 are? In some cases they act young, but they could also be older...

Personally, I think they're all in their early 20's

Discuss how old you think they are and why...

I think Rarity> Fluttershy > Twilight > Pinkie Pie > Apple Jack > Rainbow dash. At least thats the order I believe. Now I cant say exact ages but I would put rarity somewhere between 22-24, if that gives any kind of base.

I think that Lauren Faust once said that they were supposed to be young adults, so early twenties seems fitting.

I'm not sure about their age, but all we know is that Fluttershy is a year older than Pinkie!
Also, I would tend to think that Rarity is the oldest and that Rainbow is the youngest.

I think they're in their early 20s as well. They're adults, they have their own jobs, they're independent, but they're still a bit immature, so... yeah. Early 20s makes sense to me.

It's hard to say, but I think that they would all be in the range of 18-25. In human years, of course.

From youngest to oldest,I would rank them as such:

Pinkie Pie (immature, lives in apartment, has parental figures)
Twilight Sparkle (still in college, hasn't quite developed social skills yet)
Rainbow Dash (has wild and fairly unrealistic hopes for the future)
Fluttershy (has a stable job and knows how to be polite in formal circumstances)
Applejack (runs a family business almost independently, is trusted by the town and society)
Rarity (completely independent, acts as a parental figure)

Pretty much my thoughts. Although rainbow seems to do the majority of the weather work in Ponyville, I don't think you mentioned that.

That's exactly the age order I imagine them to be. Rarity and Fluttershy just "feel" like the eldest. I would think of Pinkie as a little younger than Applejack except for Fluttershy's line about being (only) a year older than Pinkie.

I've always thought they were between 16 and 22. I'd say Rarity (22) > Applejack (20) > Twilight Sparkle (19) > Fluttershy/Rainbow Dash (18) > Pinkie Pie (17).

Mainly because Pinkie is the only one who seems to live with anyone (Mr. and Mrs. Cake). I don't know about everyone else, but it seemed to me in "The Cute Mark Chronicles", that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were in the same class, though I see that Fluttershy actually looks older than the others. It might just be an early growth-spurt, though, otherwise she'd be older than the rest of the mane cast, since they all have the same height, even as fillies. I dunno. Just my thoughts.

I agree with the above posts, also seeing as Fluttershy and Rainbowdash both attended flight school in Cloudsdale together, i'd say the age gap between them would be relativley small.

They feel to be in their early 20s, tho I have the idea that Applejack is the oldest (she was off to the city on her own in ...Chronicles). Going by calculation she was also the last of the Mane Six to get her cutie mark because she had to walk home first. Rarity also seemed to be living on her own in that episode, tho, so she could be older too.

Pretty much what everyone else has said: early 20's, possibly 18 or 19-ish.

But the idea that Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are close to the same age also says something else. If Pinkie Pie is a year younger than Fluttershy that would also probably make her younger than Rainbow Dash. So maybe idea of Pinkie being the youngest are pretty accurate.

I'd say that the ages range from 17-24. Here's the order I'd say they are, from youngest to oldest:

• Pinkie Pie (17-19)
• Rainbow Dash (18-19)
• Twilight Sparkle (19-21)
• Fluttershy (21-22)
• Applejack (23)
• Rarity (24)

That said, I think it's something like Rarity > Fluttershy > Pinkie Pie > Applejack > Rainbow Dash > Twilight Sparkle

Rarity and Fluttershy are fairly obvious and it seems most of us are agreed on their placement, so I'll leave those alone.

Pinkie Pie's family, as shown in Cutie Mark Chronicles, is based off of the Amish. I've heard Amish girls are capable of leaving their families when they turn 16, so I'll assume Pinkie is either 16 or 17 (making Fluttershy either 17 or 18).

I was iffy with AJ and RD, but AJ seems to the more mature of the two, so I'd go with her being older. She's probably not too much younger than Pinkie, perhaps the same age, maybe even older. For now, I think she's younger though. Just because Pinkie acts goofy doesn't necessarily mean she's young. I've seen plenty of girls similar to Pinkie. The social, outgoing types are generally that way.

Twilight is at the bottom because, despite all her intelligence, she's very innocent. Best example would be Boast Busters. She's so afraid of looking like a showoff that she decides not to do anything. Generally that's how younger people think before they do something.
