~Warning you now, this..piece of writing has no purpose and is pretty much pointless to read... xD~
Fear is an interesting feeling.
People love being scared.
True, it is fun, for the time being.
But having a natural curiosity for things that are frightening...is not that fun.
I love a good scare as much as the next person, depending on what it is.
As long as it's easy to get over afterwards.
But something you cannot seem to get over...just reminders of it can drive you back into the corner that you've been hiding in ever since you originally learned of said frightening thing.
And that my friends, is where I stand.
I have many phobias, and one of them is the dark.
The dark, and the things that lurk in it.
Or the things that don't lurk in it.
Active imagination.
Overthinking.
Memories.
Have you ever been so scared of something,
A movie, for example,
That even seeing the title of it makes you shudder?
That is why I dislike channel surfing late at night.
I was waiting for something good to come on tv, and what do I see on Channel 40 at 11?
The Ring Two.
I know it's an extremely irrational fear, but I hated that movie.
Only horror movie I've seen so far that still has me scared.
Stupid, I know. But we're all scared of something.
It's funny how just the title of a movie can drive you to whimpering, shaking, and nervous laughter.
Part of the reason I was scared was because I knew I'd watch it.
I have a curiosity for things that scare me.
And The Ring scares me, quite a bit.
It's just...scary.
Especially alone at night.
I've seen the movie before, so I know when the worst scares are, thankfully.
But just watching it and knowing it's coming is almost worse.
Changing the channel is not that good also.
Because I know that I'd flip back to the channel; as much as I hate the movie, I love watching it.
Even with the effects it gives me afterward.
But when you change the channel, when do you change back?
With my luck, I knew I'd change the channel back as soon as Samara was onscreen.
And I do have luck like that.
Right back to the ambulance scene.
Fantastic.
And I know it's just a movie, but it's hard to convince yourself that in the dark in the middle of the night.
And I kept watching it.
Up until the bathroom scene, with the long mirror.
Because I was infront of a mirror exactly like that a few weeks ago,
And decided that I would stop before I had night terrors,
But..of course, after a while I went back again.
And with my luck, I changed back to a scene I thought had nothing to do with Samara,
Because I haven't seen the movie for a while.
And it did, of course.
Main character shuts the window, then Samara is against the wall.
Awesome.
Decided to go to bed after that.
Had to turn off all the lights though, so my back was turned to the tv while I turned off all the lights.
Active imagination.
Couldn't fall asleep for a while.
Blame that on other things though.
And I have no idea why I'm writing this, but I felt I should.
I figure that writing it all out and seeing how stupid it is might help me a bit.
And I'm still scared of the dark.

I feel your pain.
Samara had got me scared shitless after I watched the movie again.
I literally thought I saw her last night when I was walking through the house.
I just about had a heart attack.
