I did a search for this already, but the topics seemed too vague. So, here we go: The Topic is who is the best (or worst) villain from the Movies. Now, we're talking live action, no cartoons.

Let's hear your choice, who do you love to hate? is it Jaws from James Bond? How about Darth Vader, maybe even a pair of Jokers?

Me? My pick is a unsung baddie: Agent Smith from the Matrix. This dude is so bad he's cool.

And........GO!

I can't pick Ghirahim? Crud.
I'd have to go with Stanley Kowalski, if he counts. I found him to be a very realistic "evil".

EDIT: He's from "A Streetcar Called Desire" and is played by Marlon Brando in the film version.

I may sound cliche, but the Joker (Heath Ledger) is my personal favorite live action film villain. He did such a great job in that movie and he really made the character a lot more interesting.

To say other villains, I would say:
  • Daleks (Doctor Who)
  • Voldemort (Harry Potter)
  • Red Skull (Captain America)
  • Darth Vader (Star Wars)
  • Dr. René Belloq (Indiana Jones)
  • Jacob (Chronicle) [Can be debated]
  • Zombies... (Zombieland and Walking Dead)
  • Terminator (Terminator...)
  • Yoko Ono (The Beatles)
There's my nerdgasm for the day. Don't even get me into the "Best Heros (LAF)"...

Hmmm. I really don't watch that many Live action films, but I guess I would have to say Andrew form Chronicle or The Joker from The Dark Knight.

Some men aren't looking for anything logical. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

A bit strange when everyone just picks The Joker as the best film villain, sure he's an awesome villain. He's just way larger than life right now for my likes. Hans Landa from Inglorious Basterds though, perfect as villain.

Recently, I chose him, he had a terrific performance in The Avengers, and that is the reason he is the best.

Another great one IMO, he did a great job doing his role.

Many villains we like to dislike.
That's part of their design. And I don't think anyone will be able to beat the dark lord Sauron, or Darth Vader for a very long time.

Oh, and it's simple. We kill the Ol' Sarge.

Wait. Wut? What is this madness that you speak of? No one dares try to kill the Ol' Sarge. Better men than you have tried and failed.

[*]Yoko Ono (The Beatles)

You have no idea how hard I laughed at that.
As for my own favorite, well it would have to be Jaws from Jaws of course c:
But then T-Rex from Jurassic Park is amazing too...

But if you're asking for villains of the human variety, I would have to say Sweeney Todd(2004?), Eric (Phantom 2004) aaand.. Lestat of Interview with the Vampire. Although, he's not quite -human- though, is he?

That figures. I will have a little talk with SkullBuster about who he carouses around with; seedy characters indeed.

I agree...Col Hans Landa from Inglorious Basterds... I loved how ruthless he was out of sheer thrill of the hunt... you almost respected him for it, despite being a Nazi shithead.

Trying to decide with either HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey or Darth Vader from any of the Star Wars films.

He portrayed a comic book Joker very well, that can't be denied. But for a super realistic, bad ass joker, you gotta give it to Ledger.

true, I don't take anything away from Heath's Joker...but I don't think Jack was acting. Damn, this minimum.

Miles Quaritch, From Avatar

Firelord Ozai, Avatar The Last Airbender

Bane, The Dark Night Rises

Sauron, The Mouth Of Sauron and the Witch Kind, Lord Of The Rings

And that would be about it I always love a good villain...er bad villain... whatever you want to call it.
