Limiting myself to one song per band...

Strapping Young Lad - Oh My Fucking God
Coroner - Suicide Command
Devin Townsend - Night
Aspid - Give Me (Play For a Ballet)
Annihilator - Ligeia

...well that was difficult.

I can't give you a definitive answer. My tastes in music (by music, I mean metal :P) is always changing. What might be my favorite song one day could be a song I hate the next. Though that's not too likely, you get the point.
Anyway, list list list to satisfy you're sick needs.
Straws Pulled at Random - Meshuggah
To Forgive is to Suffer - Death
Hexagram - Deftones
Ow My Feelings - Periphery
Polyphony/The New Black - Strapping Young Lad

Though this is completely different than what it used to be..

Devin Townsend - Night

10/10, best song from Ocean Machine. It is so melodic, and Devy's voice is just awesome when he says "I love you more than I can say..." and all.

It's hard to come up with only five songs, so I will just put my favorite of all time:

Let It Be - The Beatles

The song that introduced me to them, and a real masterpiece.

Goddammit, this is too hard >_<

Okay, I'll try my best. I too must limit myself to one song per artist.
Not really in order:

1. The Truth is in Here - Ayreon
2. In the Name of God - Dream Theater
3. Divine Wings of Tragedy - Symphony X
4. The Lotus Eater - Opeth
5. Mystery - Shadow Gallery, or perhaps Andromeda Strain, also by Shadow Gallery. Or maybe Another Me, by Epica. Or... Sorry, I just can't decide :(

Also, lol it's all progressive metal XD

Had to shuffle the order quite a bit, but this seems right.

1. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
2. Jimi Hendrix- Purple Haze
3. Nortec Collective- Olvidela Compa
4. The Offspring- Self Esteem
5. Fleetwood Mac- The Chain

In no particular order, the songs that have had a strong impact on me for a long time:

Marilyn Manson - The Reflecting God (1996)
Spoiler

Like many people, The Beautiful People was my first exposure to Manson. I was like "I'm 12 and what is this?!?" After a moment's reflection I decided "fuckin' amazing" was what it was. It was catchy, but when I picked up the album Antichrist Superstar, I found its closing tracks to be more visceral, profound and enduring. Seeing it live from the mosh pit is pretty much beyond words.

Metallica - No Leaf Clover (1999)
Spoiler

The symphony, the building sense of dread, the crowd...just an outstanding performance of an outstanding song. This would have been right at home on Master of Puppets; its theme is centered heavily around betrayal, miscalculation and the cost of hubris.

Johnny Cash - When the Man Comes Around (2002) (fair warning: video is very graphic)
Spoiler

He wrote this song with the knowledge that his life was at an end. In a broader sense, this song captures in stark relief humanity's fascination with (and for many, an apparent yearning for) its own end. Although I don't share his interpretation of the "how" and the "why", I agree that it's one of the most important questions ever asked.

This is going to be hard, and I'm not even going to attempt putting them in any order.

Our Mutual Friend - The Divine Comedy

What can I say? It has my kind of instrumentation. Even has my instrument (bassoon) very clearly at one point. You don't hear that everyday in pop music.

Does Anybody Really Know What It Is? - Chicago
Beginnings - Chicago
Call On Me - Chicago

Chicago was so good in their early days that their songs take up three of my slots!

...I'm going to have to go over five, forgive me. =P

Here's To Life - Streetlight Manifesto
We Will Fall Together - Streetlight Manifesto
Light My Fire - The Doors

I debated Touch Me instead of Light My Fire, but Light My Fire is just too awesome. lol
