Seriously people, what is happening to it?
I was browsing /v/ like usual, then i find this:

Is this a joke? I'm also laughing a lot because of the voice acting, it has no expression at all.
"wndrful, cnt wait"

This game looks absolutely amazing. A few stupidly cheesy lines aside I really enjoy the story aspect I've seen so far and the gameplay looks phenomenal, bringing back the Devil Bringer in a way by letting Dante latch onto enemies and hooks to platform. I really like the idea of the environment changing as you move through it, it could add some epic platforming sequences. It really looks like they smoothed out the platforming and the combat has this amazing flare to it thanks to the shapeshifting sword. This game is gonna rock. I can't wait.

The only thing I hate seeing people assume is that because it supposedly doesn't run at 60fps then it's no longer going to be the same thing. Well...obviously if they were going for the same thing and there's nothing saying they aren't going to incorporate the framerate into the gameplay so that it still works. Personally I think 30fps works better than 60fps any day regardless of the game unless it's got anime-level sprites such as BlazBlue or Guilty Gear where the sprites themselves would be hampered by a lower framerate.

well thay changed the devil trigger and called it angle mode :/ thats when i stopped caring also i miss all the chessieness of the first game and this one it trying to be too serious with it resistance against the demon's. bleh its gona suck its just r :( ping a already good franchise that all it is and people saying that there rely improving the combat... there just copy pasting the older combat system and throwing some glitter at it to grab the atention of the call of duty crowd.

but this has been capcom since shinji mikami left and every bad move they have made to r :( p our wallets of every last penny for me it started with Street fighter 4 which is every thing the street fighter franchis has bragged about not wanting to be which it why we got fifty shades of SF2 brillianc.. moing on to RE5 which to me felt more like a rambo acid trip than a survival horror game then the half finished fail that was MvC 3 and to any moron who defends this game yes i will call you morons, if this game wasn't sold half finished then why did U MvC 3 come out a few months after... at almost full price, then SxT with was just SF 4, dragons dogma(good game) but steel battalion well ( £$%*&$£%?@~##$£%££). now i've just boycotted them completely

When they first revealed DmC I had my doubts.
But everytime they show more, I get more and more interested.
Hell at this point it's my most anticipated game of 2013.

However I can understand why people still have a dislike towards it.
But it's supposed to be a reboot so some things are going to be different.
Personally i'd say to hold judgement until you get your hands on the demo, then you can decide if it's really not for you.

The overall game looks great. I honestly don't see why people are hating on this. Capcom's taking DMC in a new direction. DMC4 was kind of a bust and I really don't care if Dante look like a kid in this game (though he did in the previous ones as well with that voice and face of his.) And I wouldn't judge a game on the voice acting, because their is a fair share of great games that have absolutely awful acting in it (even if I don't find DMC5's voice acing bad).

As for the whole DMC5 Dante being added to Playstation All-Stars.... so what? Why does it matter which Dante they put in? The only real difference between the two Dantes is that they look different, they both share a cocky attitude.

Wait...so is this its own story line? Or is it before the first Devil May Cry?
So far, I'll probably pass on this one. Sadly, don't like the looks of the two. I guess its a good way to get newer people into the DMC series if they didn't start off on the first one for the PS2 though.

as far as the All Stars game for PS3, with they put the older Dante in :(
Looked so much more awesome

I don't know DevilMayCry was starting to get stale and dated, so maybe a new look was needed? To put it in the hands of Ninja Theory though, maybe that was a mistake on Capcom's part.

The upcoming DMC is a reboot of the series made my Ninja Theory, so the story of the previous games have nothing to do with this one.

A new look was a good idea, but apparently it wasn't.
I don't know who was in charge of the character design, but if i do i would kill him/her in any possible way.

It may look great, but there have been a lot of leaked details about the game, and i'm sure it won't be any "fun" at all.
What i mean with fun is: it won't be challenging, it won't be interesting and it won't be enjoyable.
I'm not jumping into a conclusion, but i'm sure it will be like that.
As for the PSAll-Stars game, they should have added the old Dante, the DMC4 Dante at least. They just added the new one and the game didn't even release, if they would've added the old Dante, the game would get a lot more of copies sold, they just think the new one is "cooler", it isn't.

It looks like they wrote a script for something unrelated that kinda had similarities to DMC and slapped a Dante colored coat of paint on it, this is shaping to be "Devil May Cry: The Quickening", or even worse, "Devil May Cry: The Source". Also, Dante now looks like the head of ninja theory.

From an interview I saw their just using the DMC characters to air a their bullshit anti-corpate ranting.

Also, it's nick-pick, but why is Dante a smoker now when his creator said he wanted to be a non-smoker because he thought smoking was uncool?

Ooh, i didn't know the creator said that... i like where this is going.
And what you said makes sense, but as far as i know it's just a reboot.

I believe it was Angry Joe's E3 interview where bag spilled about the story-line, they also down-right refused the possibility when he brought up including a "classic Dante" skin to play with.

Yeah, the non-smoker thing is in Dante's bio on Wikipedia. Also, they've made Dante down-right sadistic, he puts a cig out on one demon's head in the trailer for the hell of it.

The upcoming DMC is a reboot of the series made my Ninja Theory, so the story of the previous games have nothing to do with this one.

in that case, I'm not buying this game.
Nope, never. (ok maybe after its on sale) but the old DMC was just too cool.
To think a reboot of the series? wow, just can't see how older gen fans are going to like the Dante.

No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. Just no.
While I have to admit that the game does look awesome, I would not buy it in a million years.
What happened to sexy, silver haired, sarcastic Dante and awesome, spiky haired, prick Virgil from DMC 3?
This is NOT Dante. This is NOT Virgil. This is NOT Devil May Cry. :(

How are you not jumping to a conclusion? You haven't played the game, have you? That's the very definition of jumping to a conclusion. :P

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this game. Big fan of the first four games (DMC2 aside, of course), and this reboot looks like great fun. The new visual style has a lot of personality, and I like the direction they've taken the music in. There isn't anything I've disliked about the game yet, other than some of the voice acting. I can't wait to get my hands on a demo, if one will ever be released over PSN.

Nothing makes me shake my head more than seeing people spew bile about this game. I mean, you don't have to like it. That's cool. But just because it isn't what you expected doesn't mean it has no right to exist. Capcom has done a lot of shitty things over the past few years, but I certainly wouldn't say this is one of their mistakes. Not yet, anyways. We'll all have to wait and see.

Well, yeah you are right.

fun

Well i got some details of the game and i'm sure it won't be any fun at all, since when mashing buttons is fun?
I heard Capcom got into helping Ninja Theory though, they said it's going to get better or either more fluid (instead of 30fps lock), i'm looking for more details about the game to keep the thread going.

I'm just not seeing the button mashing aspect. The series has never been about blindly mashing buttons (unless you torture yourself by playing on Easy Automatic), and the gameplay in DmC looks to play the same way as those old games, only with more weapons available to you at any one time.

Hadn't heard about Capcom becoming involved with the game. Would be cool if they could somehow bring the game up to 60 fps, but I doubt that'd be possible at this point. Even if they tried, the framerate would probably be unstable. I'd take stable 30 over unstable 60 any day, though frankly I'd rather not choose.

Edit: Also, just saw this image on tumblr. Thought I'd share the lulz.

Yeah they added something that when you attack at the same time with the enemy you parry and counterattack so you can keep mashing, the game will be on automatic always basically, i hope this gets changed.
And i agree with your point of the FPS, 60fps is more comfortable but it surely will be unstable, it has to remain in 30fps i guess.
Btw lol'd at the picture.
