Well, on dA there is this group that is mainly active whenever Shark Week on Discovery Channel rolls around. Each day has a shark set to it and the members of the group have to draw that shark. Yesterday's (as today's hasn't been announced yet) was the Whale Shark.

I like the shading and the lighting technique you used. Come to think of it, the background is pretty coool too.... I think I can kiiiiinda dissect how you did it, just by looking at it -- Heck, it's already a masterpiece as I notice more & more details.

And I played with Opacity quite a lot for this. The more 'subtle' colors and things are from the airbrush tool.
Used Paint Tool SAI.

Today's shark-of-the-day added! It's the Big Eyed Thresher!
We were able to choose from the three species of Threshers being the Common, Big Eyed, and Pelagic.

Woo! Another new shark! This time a prehistoric one that lived about 250 million years ago. c: The Helicoprion!
