Swearing in Class

I'm pretty sure most people have cussed at least once or twice in their lifetime, surely in school when your pissed off by that one person or teacher or piece of useless homework. Though have you ever been caught doing it? Have you even done it before?

I'm not one for too much swearing, though I silently slip out one or two when something goes awry. I have friends who swear all day long, and it doesn't bother me, though I despise those teachers who think your cussing when your not.

I've personally never cussed directly to a teacher, but I have sworn in class. I cuss in Gym all the time, but the teacher doesn't do anything about it, so I figure he doesn't care.

I have this thing about swearing.

I always feel as though I'm pretending to be something I'm not when I swear casually. It's as though the words feel awkward in my mouth. I don't mind other people who swear, mostly because I'm around it 24/7, but it's not something I can imitate.

Although I make no promises when I hit my thumb with a hammer. angry.png

I've let a curse slip once or twice in class, but I usually don't swear. The only times that I've sworn in class are when I opened my binder and my papers fell everywhere (I'm certainly no Twilight in the organisation department) and when a bulletin board I was sitting under fell off of the wall. That was painful.

My profs cuss is class at times. You just get used to it. Often, its in a quote or material we are covering. Then again, I am an an Anthropology Major. Most of the other professors and departments don't do it.

I do cuss, but I do not in the presence of authorities (In this case teachers). I feel that there isn't anything wrong with language to an extent, as it is the message behind the words that is important. Saying "shut the F up" to a teacher would be just as rude as "stop talking please" as my example. I only speak as what is expected in the current environment. So things like swearing and being loud I would only do with friends, where if I was in school I'd be behaved as it is the expectation.

I haven't really swore in class, but I was so close to swearing. Because to be honest, I am in a bad mood at school so I tend to lose my temper and just get out of control. Plus in my school, if you swear you get a detention.

I don't remember ever swearing in class. I actually avoid swearing in the presence of others and not just in a school setting. I swear often enough when I'm alone. I guess I'm just used to watching my language around others because it feels a bit (sometimes extremely) awkward swearing in front of them.

I don't think I've ever really swore in class that I can remember, I don't really like swearing myself. Since idk it just feels weird to me and I just don't like it very much.

However if I like do something that hurts me enough or something, or I'm just really ticked off I might accidentally have one slip.

I don't think I've had any teachers think I cursed before. Most of my teachers like me :P.

I swear alot, and i swore every now and then in class, getting to be more and more towards my final years of Secondary School, my final day i went on a swearing fit against a teacher whom i hated and who hated me.

I swore all the time in College and i do now in University as we're treated as adults so we don't get in trouble for swearing :3

I don't swear in class or in front of my family, It just feels wrong for some reason. However, when I'm with my friends I say curse words like its a race and I'm the only one competing.

I swear so much, and I'm not even angry when i do it, they just roll off my tongue by accident, I'm surprised none of my teachers have caught me swearing before, even though I have been pretty loud before :x

I don't swear that much, but I do it from time to time.

I do swear in class occasionally, although I usually keep it to myself and my peers. Twice I've seen students get kicked out of class for swearing, which was strange because they seemed to swear normally in class.

I actually just swore in class a week ago (or at least about a week ago.) Anyway, we were doing some simulation about stocks or something, and right when we started I was already doing horrible, so I accidentally said "D*** it!" (Uncensored obviously) every one was so suprised seeing as I never talk, so the first thing they heard out of me was a swear word. Lucky for me, the only person who didn't hear it was the teacher (I got so lucky)

I have only ever swore in Gym class, and both of those involved injures. When we were playing volly ball and I took a shot to my face, the first words out of my mouth were and I quote "Son of a B***h!, Man Down!" Let's just say I'm glad I only got sent to the nurse and not the principal.

I had a seriously filthy mouth when I was in high school and have been caught on many occasions, I don't swear nearly as much as I did back then but I still do and over 90% of my swearing is at work because there are far far more things that piss me off there than at home. "Shit", "God damn it" and "you have got to be f@#$*& kidding me" are a couple of my most commonly used phrases on the job most of them are in the backroom or the dairy cooler but one can sometimes slip out when I am on the sales floor like when I found out my load was 3 hours late yesterday for example.

I was so anal about not cursing when I was young that I had the opposite problem.

We were reading a passage from a book out loud in class and I skipped a curse word that was in it and the teacher was upset.  I kind of squeaked out the word and she still wouldn't take it.  I actually had to PRACTICE to be able to say the dumb thing correctly in context.

That said if I utter a profanity, everyone would turn around if they knew of me at all because I practically never use it.

In high school I never dared to swear in front of my teachers. They would get all butthurt and send us straight to the principal. Now, however, my instructor will swear with and at us. Shut the h*** up! If we are talking while he's talking. Sit your a** down! If we are standing up in class. A few f-bombs here and there for spicy sentence enhancers. Then again, the class is run in a quasi-military fashion so it's to be expected.

I swear a lot and school is one of the only places I can swear freely without being worried about people getting mad at me. Of course there is a time and a place for swearing, but I think a lot of people are way too offended by it.

I have a teacher who said that if he hears you drop an F-bomb in class he will make you write an essay on why swearing is bad. This bugs the crap out of me...it's ridiculous! We all know what those words mean, we're not kindergarteners who need to be sheltered. So just deal with it, I say. If someone wants to swear, that's none of your business to ask them to stop. It's not making you look bad so why should you even care?

To be honest, swearing is fun, it can liven up a conversation. I had a teacher who would swear all the time and it kept class interesting and funny. I just hate how everybody's out to spoil everyone else's fun.

On a slight side note...where did swearing even come from? Why did we invent these words if we aren't supposed to say them? Where's the logic in that??

Well, public schools have rules against profane language specified in the student code of conduct (yeah that book no one ever looks at). So, to a certain extent, it is their business.  Whether they want to enforce those rules is another issue.

I can't recall ever swearing in class. I hardly ever talked in class at all. The other kids swore outside of class all the time but most knew better than to do so in front of their teachers.

Wait until college. You'll probably have a few swearing instructors there in addition to a bunch of classmates that'll be doing it. One of my teachers in college would hang out with his students during breaks. Somehow he managed to drink a 16 ounce cup of coffee, smoke 5 cigarettes, and swear about 30 times during conversation in the span of 5 minutes. He would also swear in every other sentence during lectures.

I try not to swear at school as some of the teachers are seriously whiney over it. Once though, when I got a detention because I hadn't handed in piece of homework I was never set (during my week off school as I couldn't walk (foot operation)) one person took it upon themself to make jokes and say stuff like "Naughty (name withheld)" which I quickly grew bored of. Eventually after about half an hour I just let loose with "Yaseen, just F*** off!" Got caught but was let off as the teacher could see I was in one of those moods.

Nothings really happened to me like that.

This is kind of off topic but something to do with it,

Whenever I say shut up to this one kid in my class who like is determined to make my ears bleed by annoying me every second of his life, this other girl in my class who sits across from me in science class is always like "Michael! Dont swear!! D:" I facehoof in my mind so hard.
