More than enough time has passed since Chrysalis had set hoof in Canterlot, and more than enough time has passed to lull those pathetic Ponies into a false belief that she and her army were gone for good... Whatever helps them sleep at night~!

Though her army was decimated, the Queen had plans for a surprise comeback! But first, she had to feed her army! Canterlot wasn't going to be the wisest of choices at the moment, so she'll have to start a little smaller, yet just large enough to feed her entire army...

After having sent out some sentries, the best place to do this was some hole on the wall called 'Ponyville'... It also turns out that this little town is under the shadow of that Canterlot... Chrysalis felt a little silly for not noticing this sooner, but oh well! What was important now was that her subjects get fed!

But there was something else… Chrysalis' sentries also discovered that the newly crowned Princess Twilight Sparkle also resided in this nowhere town! What's more, all of her friends lived there, and were sometimes referred to as The Elements of Harmony.

If the information from her informants was correct, this could pose a serious problem! Not only was the Queen running the risk of being absolutely trounced, but there was also the risk of ending up sporting a new stone exoskeleton for eternity… Needs must as Tartarus drives, however! And besides, if memory served her well, there was spell that she had that would sent any unwanted threats FAR away, not just some measly crystal cave, either!

After a bit of searching on her part, Chrysalis discovered that she did indeed have the spell! It was rumored to be able to send anyone the caster chose to another world. It even said that only the caster would be the only one to bring them back! How delightful! But there were two warnings: The first, the spell had to be cast at close range, and the second, the caster must not be moved or distracted in any way, lest they too be caught in the spell… Well, she'll just have to have the Elements come to her~!

After what seemed like ages, the Changelings arrived at their destination. With a single nod from the Queen, the Changelings charged at the unsuspecting Ponies, creating panic and chaos everywhere! Just like Chrysalis wanted! It wasn't long until the new princess gallop up to her, her friends in tow. Finally, the guests of honor have arrived! Now, it's time for the fun to begin!

Chrysalis waited, standing as still as possible until the Mane6 were within range... Chrysalis snapped her head back quickly then thrust it forward as she sw the blue one suddenly fly out front, really catching the Queen off guard! Before she knew it, that little winged upstart struck her in the horn, right as the spell was charged! The Queen was knocked back as her magic was knocked off course and sent straight into the sky, blackening it with raging clouds swirling with green and violet energy and lightning, striking everywhere!

The last things Chrysalis remembered were the feelings of an updraft stong enough to pull her upward, a blindingly bright light, and then shooting pain before all went black...

Cicada of course supported her queen in everything, being the second in command and all. She marched by her queen's side as they invaded Ponyville, and directed the army in attacking the ponies. When the spell was being cast, she hung back so as not to get in the way, but when she saw that her queen's spell had gone awry, she instinctively leapt to Chrysalis' side. Cicada was caught in the spell too; didn't even get a chance to cry out before all went black.

~~~
As far as Rarity was concerned, the invasion could not have come at a worse time. She had literally tons of dresses to make, and a boutique to clean, but when Twilight asked for her help, of course a true friend could not do any less! And it was Chrysalis and the changelings again, who Rarity had last seen being blasted out of Canterlot by Cadance and Shining Armour. She saw that the queen was attempting a spell, and cried out a warning to the others...
*sigh* "Another day, and still no creature from the multiverse shows up in this prototype portal,"
He wonders if all those nine years in researching alternate universes are all in vain.
He goes to the 1outofMnY.com forums and sees the PM alert
*You've Got Mail"
He clicks on it, and sees the resident multiverse skeptic, OneWorld345 PMing him.
OW345:hey g-man givin up yet on that bulls**t portal? i knows its not gonna work
G-Man: so its you again, the troll on my site.
OW345: dude, im a part of the scientific community and im saying this all
G-Man: PICS OR IT DIDNT HAPPEN
OW345: my god,,,,, that portal will fail.
G-Man has dealt with many trolls like these before.
(OOC: Figure this is just prologue...)
Rainbow Dash took five seconds to charge into battle when she heard the screams coming from Ponyville. One had to be understanding; she took about three seconds to fetch Resident Egghead for backup by poking her head through the top window of the library and screaming, "Ponyville's under attack!" at the top of her lungs before rushing towards the source of the disaster.
While she was painting the sky with rainbows, she saw that it was no hydra but..what looked like CHANGELINGS causing the commotion. Whatever! She had plenty of Buccanner Blitzes in stores for those losers, too. After what they did to HER friend? She thought she could walk all over her by terrorizing RAINBOW'S town?
She had another thing coming. Time to show Chrysalame what a pair of real wings could do.
She spiraled into the sky, letting Equestria's gravity feed her full of power as she dripped prismatic coronas all through the cyan blue--for one instant she hung in the air, letting the outer arms of the clouds embrace her, and the wind run leylines through her every-colored mane, eyes wide open to the beauty of the atmosphere--if she was a weepy type like Fluttershy she would have sighed--and returned to ground with a shout, charging the changeling queen. At the last second something WEIRD happened, though. Rainbow was knocked back--just about to charge again, when she realized something weird was happening to her sky...it smelled all wrong, and her hairs were tingling on edge...
~~~~~

Fluttershy tried to hang near the back walking up to frightened ponies and giving them a quick nuzzle or words of reassurance to help them run away. Which was certainly what she wanted to do. This wasn't the first place Fluttershy would have come when something dangerous was going on, but Twilight needed her, and Twilight said she was being brave as long as she was here, so she clipped her Element of Harmony around her neck without complaining as soon as she heard the screams.

It was just awful. Changelings were chasing ponies everywhere, and there was yelling and screaming. How could anypony want to do this? It didn't help Fluttershy's mood any when the sky darkened, looking as displeased as she was by this turn of events, and started thundering very frighteningly.

"Meep!" she met the hugest blast of thunder by cowering under her mane, and then everything went quiet for some reason...

In downtown Chicago, Liam O'shea packed up his guitar and began his trip back home. It had been another day of playing his music in the streets and hoping that by some sort of miracle he would get his chance to move forward and actually secure a real career as a musician instead of making only a little more than what he needed to survive. He didn't even have enough extra money to stop by his favorite bar for a few drinks on his way home. But still, he couldn't really complain too much; it was a good life for the most part and he was doing what he loved. He could hardly ask for more than that.

It seemed like any other day downtown Montreal...but there was a lack of people...it was rather strange, but if you were to turn your attention to the shore you would notice a large crowed surrounding a girl with a big smile. Nothing too interesting was happening until she held a torch to her mouth and sent a large ball of fire into the air.
The crowed oohed and aahed as she took a bow, finishing her performance...which had been going on for some time now.

Several people walked up to a large hat and dropped money inside as Emily began cleaning up her supplies.

about ten minutes later she had packed everything into two suitcases and was waiting at the bus stop.
Another ten minutes later she was getting off the bus and onto another bus.

Another ten minutes later she was walking down the alley near her apartment...

Star was hiding behind a dumpster as Chrysalis fought.
She peaked up occasionally only to let out a frightened squeak and hide again.
It was a few moments later when there was a loud boom and the sky began to change. Star screamed loudly then...everything went black...

((A little rushed but...everyone else was posting))

Another day, another dollar.

Reggie Hargreaves rolled out of bed, her small apartment in downtown San Diego illuminated by the rising sun. The rent here was cheaper than most, due to some plumbing issues that couldn't be fixed easily. It was early, but after years of Catholic school, waking up early came easily to the Irish-American woman. After getting up and getting dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, Reggie folded her work uniform and put it in a bag, taking the red trolley to Old Town. The good part about being awake early was that it gave her plenty of time to eat breakfast and look around the shops there before she went to work at around 10 AM. For now, she got off the trolley and went to the Old Town Cafe, ordering some coffee and toast with fruit, Reggie preferring a light breakfast on days she worked.

Catherine woke up relatively early Saturday morning, around 9 o'clock. She ran through her morning routine of showering, eating, brushing her teeth and hair, and getting dressed, then went downstairs, kissed her father and sister goodbye, and left the house. She pulled out her phone and sent a text to her friend, Regina, before walking in the direction of where she assumed her friend was. "Hey. Are you working today? 'Cause I'm on my way down right now."

Her Samsung Galaxy 3 buzzed, showing the text from Cat. She grinned some, wiping toast off her hands before texting back. "You know it. At the cafe, getting noms." She then set the phone aside, taking another sip of her coffee. She was sitting outside, the cool air not spoiling her breakfast any.

Dashing up from the direction of Sweet Apple Acres came Applejack, clutching a length of rope in her jaws. With a swing and a yank, two changelings preying on a small blue unicorn mare were pulled backwards and were left struggling, bound tightly. Applejack heard a shout of thanks as she dashed onwards, but disregarded it mostly.

Why did these Changeling hafta attack durin' harvestin' season? Mighty impolite of 'em to attack when mah back was turned.

Applejack sprinted through the hordes of Changelings, and where she ran, Changelings were sent flying. They didn't have the Elements. They had to protect the Townsponies any way they could.

Rounding a corner, Applejack spotted the Changeling Queen, Chrysalis, and spotted Rainbow Dash zooming around her head, doin' a mighty fine job of stalling the evil Queen. Applejack began to gallop towards them to help, but stumbled and slowed as she heard Rarity shout something in warning. Skidding to a halt, Applejack turned to look at her friend, and opened her mouth to ask her to repeat herself when the world went wrong, and in a flash of blinding light, Applejack felt the hat fly off her head as she fell into darkness...

------------------------------------------------------

There she had been, trotting along daydreaming, then two of herself had knocked her down. She had let out a cry, and as she fell, an accidental burst of magic flew out of her horn, and she saw the Changeling standing over her change to a shade of orange, although it's form remained hers. "S-Sunburst?" Moonstruck stammered, recoiling almost more than she would have from her Sister's cruel expression than she would have from the ominous form of a Changeling.

That moment, a lasso came out of nowhere and bonked the two Changeling assailants together, restraining them as well as returning them to their original forms. The one changeling was still a putrid orange, Moonstruck noticed, and she had to restrain a laugh at the ludicrous sight. "Thanks, Applejack!" she shouted at the farmer as she sprinted by. Moonstruck then took it upon herself to trot along as if it were a perfectly normal day, not really noticing any of the other Changelings that were dashing hither and thither. And as she passed Sugarcube Corner, wondering at the 'Closed' sign that hung in the window, she felt a flash of bright light and everything went still.

@@Glaceon,

Emily was about half way down the alley when there was a sudden flash. She screamed and dropped both her suitcases as she shielded her eyes from the light.

Cowering slightly she slowly peeked through her fingers to see...a girl...a rather odd girl. She was quite pale...her hair was also a very pale blonde with a blue streak.

Instantly she leaned down next to the girl and gently tapped her on the shoulder. "Um...you okay there ?" She asked, poking at the girls cheek.

As Reggie moved to toss some of her trash away, the restaurant's trash bin being outside, a flash of light made the redhead stop in her tracks. Blinking the spots away, she looked down, seeing a girl laying there that she had never seen before. She was blonde, tanned, and freckled. Her form was clad in an orange top and shorts that seemed to be more fit for an inmate than a girl. Well, this was California, home of the flakes, fruits, and nuts.

It wasn't so strange.

Reggie picked up the girl with ease, carrying her back into the coffee shop. The owner looked up and blinked, her head tilting. "What the hell, Reggie?"

The Irish woman shrugged. "Got me; she just popped up out of nowhere. Get me a blanket, will ya? It's chilly this morning. And some water for when she wakes up." Moving to the couch, Reggie gently laid the girl down, thankful it was just them and the owner in the shop at this point.

She managed to do so, but at the same time, a familiar weight on top of her head was missing. "Where's mah hat?" She sounded a little worried, but less so than when she noticed her hand. "Where's mah hoof?" Her voice, lined with the quaint touch of the South, had a note of something that was not quite fear in it. Confusion, perhaps.

@@Dawn Stripes,

Magneus was on his normal walk to the CircleXine (SquareEnix anyone?) work building. His head bobbing to the music that blasted into his ears via iPod headphones. Some might think it strange for an adult to have an iPod, but it was the only way he could listen to his favorite music on the go.

He never drove a car to work. In fact, he didn't even have a licence. He decided a long time ago it would be better if he kept himself in shape by walking or biking to work instead of driving. He had to wake up super early to achieve this, but it was worth it.

As he was about to enter the work building, there was a bright light right in front of him. Almost at his feet even.

He had to shield his eyes due to how bright it was, and when the bright light died down he looked at where it came from... and there was a girl there. He could have sworn she wasn't laying there before.

Soft, long pink hair. A yellow sundress. Buckled slippers. Smooth face, almost too smooth...

She wasn't awake, but she didn't look knocked out. She also looked to be a tad bit... afraid? He could tell she was confused...

"Uh... hello? Miss? Are you okay?" he asked and moved a bit closer, putting and hand on her shoulder and shook a little.

(Just FYI, Magneus has some Scottish blood in him, so he speaks in a Scottish accent. Scottish accents are cool.)

"Easy lass, easy." Though Reggie's accent was mostly gone, there was still a tug of it left, an Irish lilt that sure made serving food at a Mexican restaurant interesting. She gave the girl a warm smile. "Do ya know where you are?" She thanked the owner as she brought over some water, offering it to the blonde. "Ye gave me a right start out there, poppin' out of nowhere like that." It was so strange, but Reggie was a master of rolling with it.

Then, she responded to the girl's flood of questions. "I live with my sister in Ponyville, but I don't think I'm there anymore, and I don't know where she is." It was quite a strange way to say "I'm lost", because the girl seemed rather unconcerned about it. In fact, she appeared intrigued by the fact.

Charlotte, North Carolina

"Well, I guess I can try and put the Richmond race behind me." Jack Preybird thought to himself as he loaded the team hauler. That did not go as well as planned. This weekend the Nationwide series will be racing at the new (fictitious) San Diego Raceway Park (SDRP). The team decided that Jack would be taking a bit of a break from the Sprint Cup until they were confident letting him run in the big league again. The team then departed for San Diego, hoping for better luck there.

San Diego, California

Jack and the rest of the team stayed at a Holiday Inn in the city, which was about 20 minutes from the racetrack. Jack's room had a nice view of the city, and found himself that night sitting on the balcony, just taking the massive city in. He marveled at the bright lights of the cityscape as they blended in with the thousands of stars that dotted the nighttime sky. The next morning, Jack decided he'd do a little tour of the city, after all, how else was he going to spend the next few days before the race weekend. Sitting down at a cafe in the Old Town, Jack placed an order for a coffee, and decided to relax a bit at one of the tables.

It took her several moments to realize that she didn't need the hand on the wall to stand on her hind legs. That's weird.

Only then did Moonstruck answer the girl's questions. "Erthmontralkebekanada? That's a funny name for a city. I'm Moonstruck." And indeed, she looked rather moonstruck.

The blonde seemed utterly bemused by everything that the girl was saying, until she uttered the word human being. With that, she laughed. "Humans? Well, I'll be. Why, ponies have to remind Lyra every other day there ain't such a thing as a human." She took a moment to look down at her hands, then admitted, "Well, I'm not a pony anymore, that's for sure." Her voice had acquired a downcast tone.

Murray Campbell...

The bleak and drab look of the office seemed to suck any life out of the room like a vacuum. It wasn't the most ideal of workplaces, but who was he to judge? The boss had called him into a private meeting briefly before he went home for the day, although he had darted around the reason for it. All would be revealed soon enough, and as the well cut business man sat at his desk Murray felt a slight churn in his stomach. He eyed the folders of paperwork looming in front of him, the tension in the room unsettled.

"Mr Campbell." He finally spoke up, Murray instantly sitting to attention. "You have been working here for the bast three months as one of our temps, and you have gained plenty of experience from this job, yes?"

He felt a lump travel up his throat as he tried to speak. "Yes sir."

His boss raised an eyebrow and pushed aside the papers on his desk. What came next could be very good or very bad. "Well then you should have no problem finding another job. Your position has been made redundant. I'm sorry."

Well that certainly killed it. There was no use fighting it, despite how much he wanted to stand up and shout in  outrage. He really didn't have it in him. Instead Murray conceded with a lingering sigh, falling back into his chair. "So I guess I'll go pack up my things and get out of here?"

"You have the next hour to do so. Once again I'm sorry, we have to make cut backs if we are to stay afloat these days. You were expendable."

Murray really didn't have much to carry, nothing that didn't fit into his satchel. He decided to take the long way home, even if he did risk getting lost once again., He was still unfamiliar with the streets of New York, especially when it came to navigating through the inner city. But today he just needed a walk, just a chance to clear his head and make a few decisions.

What were his chances of finding a new job here? Next to none, especially not for a temp. He knew there were plenty of opportunities for work back in New Zealand, but could he just pack up everything and go back home? He worked so hard to get here, it seemed like a crime almost. He could manage another months rent, but what then?

A smile curled Reggie's lips. "Trust me lass, I wouldn't lie ter ya. Do you remember your name?" Best to go from there. If she honestly felt she was from a different place, who was Reggie to argue? Besides, she had seen some of the places they sent the mentally ill; they weren't pretty. "I want to help ya, if I can."

((OOC: I do phonetic speech because that's how I'm used to roleplaying, but anyone here knows how Applejack sounds. You could probably get away with not doing it.))
