What is Your Schedule Like.

Do any of you here have a set schedule to go by?

If so, then describe it here! List all of your daily or weekly routines and priorities. Describe how you manage to follow it even when the going gets tough.

Looking forward to hearing all of your responses. :)

Well I wake up at 5:30, take a shower, get dressed, eat breakfest well surfing the web, brush my teeth, and wait until it's time to go in that order.

In the night, I will sometimes take a shower before bed and lay in bed until before midnight at least on a school night.

Yeah, I know how you feel. Personally, I lack any structure in my life and I don't have any real schedule to follow by. I'm not used to the idea of having one.

That's why I made this topic. So I can get a better understanding from other's perspectives. ^_^

I don't have a schedule but I really wish that I did. My sleep schedule is way out of whack, I don't have a set schedule for things I do in the day and I just generally feel my life is rather chaotic.

It's something I'm trying to remedy though. Gotta try to stay in tip-top shape even when I don't have a job.

The most I have for a schedule is wake up, play a video game, do a bit of job searching, mess around on forums, sleep. Not necessarily in that order, mind you.

That comment with that avatar is just perfect!

I have tried to keep a schedule for myself (God knows I need one), but I always end up failing to follow through with it. Instead, I just write down the things I need to do and keep a vague idea of when I need to finish that task before its too late or gets complicated.

Do I follow a schedule? I can tell what time it is based on how much coffee I have left.

Wake up, coffee, shower, food, more coffee, bus, coffee, classes and coffee, lunch and coffee, go home, either work or internet, food, internet or course work, sleep.

@,@@Discordian, @@

You guys have no idea how much I can relate to you here.

It's fun to live freely, relax, and not have responsibilities and priorities to worry about. However, admittedly it sucks not having a sense of responsibility, balance, structure, and order in your lives.

I want to grow up already but my mind can't seem to amount to it.

At least I'm not alone.

At first freedom seems nice but eventually it eats away at you. It's probably different for other people but not having a job sucks. The fact that I have no money to do or buy the things I want sucks. Not to mention that I'd rather live by myself but because I don't have a job I have to live with my mom. I don't think I'll be out of here for another five years at least at the rate I'm going. Even when I am working I never seem to make enough.

A common piece of advice I have heard in regards to this subject is this: destroy old bad habits, create new better habits.

Not exactly easy to accomplish, especially if you have never been fully accustomed to having proper work ethics for the majority of your life. Another common saying is that it takes 21 days to create new habits for yourself. Sounds convincing and promising but I have never been able to reach that period of time without falling back to my old ways. It seems virtually impossible for me.

I hate high school. The day isn't long enough to do what I want to do. I actually WANT to get a job but nobody will hire me until I am 16. Darn those child labor laws. I want a change, and I can't have one. The days need to be longer. I wasn't joking when I posted I do homework for over six hours. In the end I only get 4 hours of sleep and that makes me do worse in school but I want to have at least 3 hours of my day where I can do what I want. Hopefully I can find a way to change my schedule. People wonder why I have no time for school clubs. School is just a path to nowhere. I get it that I have 8 more years of it (including college), but it creates more chaos than life help.

I suppose in that aspect, a schedule, if it is not properly set up, can also be really time consuming to commit to and if it is too tightly compacted, then that only adds to your stress which doesn't help your self-esteem. I'm sorry about that. Must sound rough.

If I can add a little positive note, in college I do believe the work isn't as rigorous or tedious. As long as you prioritize, they are not that hard to quickly get out of the way. Then again I'm not in college so what do I know? I can only speak from what I've heard from friends.

Plus depending on the college and your major, I've heard you would usually have to deal with a MWF college schedule. Which isn't too bad as it gives you a little free time to work and do other various tasks on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Correct me if I'm wrong - @,

Kind of depends on the person, the college, the professors, and other factors. Sometimes you'll find yourself in a position where you rarely (if ever) get assigned any kind of homework, other times they'll drown you in it. This semester I seem to have gotten mostly "normal" teachers in that regard, so it makes working every day in between classes more manageable.

But I have been in positions where my schedule was too tightly packed, the teachers were too relentless, and having to go to work every other day didn't help matters in the slightest. My best advice would be never to bite off more than you can chew. Some people have what it takes to plow through 12 unit semester after 12 unit semester, but others (myself included) need to take college at a slower pace for sanity's sake. You may reach the finish line a lot slower that way, but as they say, "Slow and steady wins the race."

Excellent advice. I'll be keeping all this in mind for when I have to go to college the following summer. Though ideally, I wish to graduate college in four years, if going at it through such a quick route proves to be way too stressful for me, I might as well be better off going a little slower as you recommend. Hopefully that would be of great benefit for a decently well-established schedule through my ensuing college years.

I have a basic outline of my usual days which follows as:

  • Wake Up
  • Schoolwork
  • Play Video Games
  • Listen to Music
  • Watch random things
  • Dinner
  • More entertainment like video games, music, or animes
  • Bed

It's basically just: Sleep, Schoolwork, Entertainment, Food. Kind of dull, really but I always have left over time to do whatever I want, which is good if something unplanned comes up.
