The RP thread: [Private] Bloodlines~ (SOL / Dark mystery)

 

The Story:

Congratulations Peasant,

 

You have been selected to stay at Bloodwell, a majestic mountainside town with a flavorful history. You will get the once in a life time chance to experience the finest in dining, wine tasting, live plays, and outdoor sporting activities. You have already been booked and there are no expenses. Everything is covered, because I, Prince Blueblood, am a gracious host. I look forward to your words of praise for my newest resort.

By Royal Mandate, if you have opened and read this letter, you are obligated to attend. If you refuse or otherwise do not attend then you shall be imprisoned for no less than two years. Such is my will.

 

In this Role Play your OC has been chosen to stay at a remote mountain town that Prince Blueblood has turned into a resort. To test the quality of his resort, as well as Reputation play, Prince Blueblood has randomly chosen a hoofful of citizens to attend his resort and give feedback. Your OC's will arrive in this wonderful village. There are plenty of places for your OC to socialize with others and there are even events planned to keep things interesting.

 

There is one saying that is applicable though. All small towns have their dark and dirty secrets. Bloodwell is certainly no exception to this.

 

Rules:

-No alicorns or OP characters (for the story's sake, they're too overpowered for this RP)

-OOC should stay in this thread if possible, unless it's something short that directly pertains to the current event you're describing, and would be better as a footnote under your post.

-No overpowered abilities. Keeping it fair for everyone, and better for the story as well.

-Keep it cannon as much as possible.

-We would prefer you to use non-combat oriented OC's

-Be reliable, and only join if you know you're going to keep playing.

-When you apply please include an inventory list of what your OC will be carrying.

-Have fun with it!

 

 

Things you need to be aware of:

This RP will be slower paced than most.

We are going to be very picky with who we choose to let join.

This Roleplay is going to be Slice of Life, after sometime it will become darker and sort of turn into an adventure RP.

You two running this together? It would be a disgrace to me if I didn't apply! And a slower pace is excellent for me right now too.

 

None combat? Well that rules out Red, 'Fisher and Eclipse. Possibly Wish and Scribe too - though they were never particularly good at fighting - just kind of headstrong and lucky.

 

Lets say no to Orion and Amethyst from a canon point of view, Atheia is a Hippogriff so not strictly canon...

 

Leaving Cinder the Engineer, Emerald the Diplomat or Bardic the... well... Bard!

 

I'll only use one character, but as always i'm unsure who... you've seen most of them though, and you know whats going to happen in the RP (I presume!) so perhaps you might make a suggestion on who you'd like to see?

Hmm, seems interesting. I have two OCs, and I would prefer to use Gardenia at the moment. However, she is technically part of Canterlot's upper-crust, so I don't know if you would want Blueblood to have invited her. In that case, feel free to sign up Curious for this.

 

Though, it might also be possible for Gardenia and Blueblood to have some history between them, perhaps even some...

Actually, with you, I'm sure we can allow any of your characters. We've RP'ed with you enough to know that you won't do something that ruins the balance we have.

 

I'm not sure about Scribbler, though I personally would like to see either Emerald or Cinder in this. I'm waiting on a response from him though. (He's writing the first post at the moment)

As much as I'd like to pick favorites for this Rp ^^ I think that canonical rule eliminates most of my ocs... That is of course all save for silver-spades. He was recently made but I'd like to play as him in this rp if I'm accepted. The idea sounds really interesting and the speed sounds perfect for me too, seeing as how I love to post at night.

You guys can count me in!    After talking it over with Silver, I'm going to apply with Fizzle.

 

For the sake of this RP though, age her up from "filly" to "young mare".  She'll still be quite young, but a little filly wouldn't seem to fit as well in the setting.  Still the same basic appearance (just bigger), still the same basic personality, the only real difference would be her cutie mark.  I don't have an image of it, I'll try and get one up later though if anyone wants to see it.  

 

Basically, her cutie mark is a set of three smoke pillars spiraling out from a central point to form a circle.  I'd go into more detail but that's the general appearance of it, and as far as the meaning...  Well, I'm sure she'd be more than happy to explain for me if it ends up coming up in the RP

It is, and you're sure? I wouldn't mind using spades if she breaks the canonical feel too much, or I can just have her enter without her shadow.

If you would prefer to use Shades, feel free. Though Scribbler did talk me into allowing Muddle very early on. So long as her Shadow can't do anything "game-breaking". Though from what he has said and what I've read from her OC Sheet I think she'd be fine.

Hmm... this seems pretty interesting (especially the "slower than normal" part ). Haven't RP'd in a long time, but I think I just might want to join this one...

 

 

Thinking of rewriting the original Evilshy character to make a fit a bit better. Is her being Fluttershy's sister she never talks about to far out of cannon for this RP? I can go with a more distant relative if it would be problematic, but since she's meant to be a mirror image of Fluttershy, I'd really rather they be related somehow.

Apologies for not popping in sooner. I wouldn't mind either character, though I don't know Silver Spades yet as a character. I think Muddle would be better suited to this story, but it's really up to you. I don't want to restrict you on OCs if you'd rather not use her.

I know your RP style anyway, so you're good to go.

Hey, good to see you on board. I think Silver said it best, you're probably safe to use whichever character you'd like. It would be best to play something less fight oriented though, just because it's not really that type of story, but it's up to you. As long as it's not an ethereal demigod

 

 

Over all, I think the basic guide should be to choose an OC that's not exactly powerful in combat, but with more intellectual strengths. It's a mystery story, so you won't be facing anything too crazy powerful. (or will you? >:3)

Not really, I generally make new characters for each RP I'm in. I had slews of characters back in the unorganized days of RPW, when you just posted a character sheet directly to the thread. This actually would've been the first time I reused an OC

Just a quick character I put together. I haven't RP'd online in a long time. In fact, the only RPing I've done in the past year or two has been a bit of Pathfinder with some IRL friends. Quite a bit different from a forum RP that has no game attached.

The only thing we ask is that you ask us before you have him "copy" any NPC's magic. Some of it will be off limits. We do apologize for restricting your character in this way, but feel it is required to keep everything balanced.

I figured as much. The main reason why I put in the thing about it being a greatly toned down version of the targets abilities is so I wouldn't have to come up with some Deus Ex Machina for him not copying some god character's powers to get out the easy way.
