Not to be a heretic to the Emperor nor a misanthrope. But do you like fan fiction where Humans are jerks?

Where unfortunately, when the MLP FIM Ponies came in contact with Humanity through a portal, they met Humanity from one of the Warhammer 40K universes, and thus the Imperium of Man immediately declared exterminatus on Equestria and killed everypony.

I find them quite humorous, if it's done to the Ponies from The Conversion Bureau universe (not canon Ponies), where they turned all Humanity on Earth into Ponies, only for the Imperium of Man to arrive from another universe and then declare exterminatus.

I guess.

But if they tend to hurt physically or emotional towards my favorite characters like Rarity, then there better be a good reason why or else instant hate on said character.

Then again, why would anyone pick on the ponies like her? Reasons better be explained well.

No, I absolutely hate stories where a character is a jerk.

Especially if their being one for no reason at all.

This is why I hate RainbowDash.

If there is a good reason for the Humans being jerks, then I'll accept them, one thing I really value a story by is the motivations as to why a character acts his or her way.

"Unfortunately," being from 40k is a good enough excuse for this every single time, they're always Exterminatus calling jerks.

I don't need to like stories where humans are jerks, I live in one.

Dude, like, that's deep, man... *tokes hyper-doobie*

I'm just thankful I'm a sea slug and therefore don't have to call myself human.

My favorite fanfic is all about jerkass humans trying to jerkass each other, all the meanwhile trying to either manipulate or enslave the entire populace of Equestria to do their jerkass bidding.

And yet, its depiction of events is so well done, so fascinating, so lovingly crafted from the source material that it makes you believe every word of it!

It's not the simple fact that humans are jerks, it's how the story deals with it. Conversion Bureau is far from the only story to feature a human villain.

Sounds alright right.

In Anti Conversion Bureau Fan Fiction, Humans are the good guys and Ponies are the bad guys

I'm pretty sure I've said this before, but to reiterate, reverse misanthropy isn't the same as criticizing misanthropy. It's a deeply complex issue that can't really be boiled down to "this good, that bad."

And honestly, I don't think I'd be able to stomach a story that portrays ponies as a bunch of warmongering stereotypes. Hell, my modernist snobbery is making me critical towards anything with clear cut good guys and bad guys these days. I need ambiguity.

I generally hate them as about 99% of them is completely inaccurate, they contain some of the worst stereotypes I've ever seen. For example the all ponies are good and friendly principle, look at Trixie, or Sunset Shimmer and think about that one again. Besides not all humans are like that, actually the majority of humans are quite friendly, it's just some of the bigger leaders who would like to do anything not to lose their power.

I find it really limits the writing when you make a character, or group of characters, totally one-sided without reason. I'm okay with with them being jerks but at least give me a reason and even give individual characters varying types of jerkiness but if all of them are like a hive mind it's just boring when all they are is a number on the wall.

@@Discordian,

You probably hate LOTR for the same reason I do then. It's lazy writing to just make an entire race evil so that they are fodder and thus no one feels bad about killing them.

At least Tolkien mentioned how there are a few good Orcs, even if they are born evil

I've barely read the LotR books, actually. I barely got past the part where they left the shire (like a hundred pages in, holy crap.) and had to stop. It was way too slow-paced for me at the time.

@,

Angtsy whiners who think they are being deep with their analysis and posting stuff on the Conversion Bureau because they have power fantasies?

...Power fantasies? How in the nine hells is The Conversion Bureau a power fantasy?

It is a sick, twisted little Disaster Movie gone wrong.

There's a magic field killing all the humans. Fight to survive! ...Wait, what? You're just gonna... accept your fate and die, or become lobotomized by the faulty pony transformation? Really? This isn't the kind of Human VS Planet, 'struggling to survive on a world trying to kill them', story that a modern Disaster Movie inevitably becomes!

And don't even get me started on the Pony=superior crap that brings to mind the Nazis, the Reapers, the worst kind of Supremacists and Code Geass Brittanian Nobles all in one.

@,

Well, considering that several ponies are author inserts in the ones I've read, they want to have an omniscient morality license slapped on them and be able to fire energy blasts like Twilight

Ah yes, The Conversion Bureau. A series that often promotes the same logic as the Reapers from Mass Effect. Killing all Humans is a 'good' thing by making them become a 'superior' being against their will.
