Sunset Shimmer Question

So any word or any news if Sunset Shimmer will be in Equestria Girls 2 Rainbow Rocks? I haven't heard anything so I thought I'd ask, do you guys think she should be in the sequel or know if she will be, I personally would like to see her in the sequel myself.

I don't think Sunset Shimmer will be an antagonist anymore, but she will be in it heck, maybe she takes Twilight's message to heart and is friends with the mane 6. Maybe the plot of Rainbow Rocks is going to be based along with the finale of this season, so the entire story won't be clear until then?

actually in the case of the movie it would technically be the main 5, in equestria girls at least since it was the five of them and twilight joined in. Anyway, it is not hard to believe that sunset shimmer will not be making an appearance as an important character at all and that would have to be my guess do to the rainbow rocks clips that have been coming out.

Well it would make sense that the Twilight seen in this movie is the alternative human Twilight and joins them, which would make it a mane 6 but that is just a technicality, and yeah Sunset Shimmer will have to be important or it would mean the events of the first movie don't segue into this one.

It would be really weird if they didn't have her, but at the same time I don't know what they would do with her. She was supposed to sort of be taken care of by the humane 5, but who knows if that turned into a real friendship of any sort. 

 

It would be interesting if she became close with Fluttershy, like Discord did with pony Flutters. Might make for a cool parallel, if she was still sort of mean but working on improving under Flutter's guidance, and if she was only friends with one of them then there wouldn't really be an obligation to make her a big part of the film.

Theoretically, Sunset Shimmer should be in juvy for the criminal acts she committed in EG and the eye witness accounts. The worse she did was attempted murder. Nothing reverses the purifying effects of the Elements of Harmony like time spent in juvy.

 

But this is EG so she gets off easy, not even probation.

I can honestly say, as obvious as it should have been, I have never thought of this. xD

 

I can see it though! But more as a reformed friend, kind of like how Discord is now! ^^

I can see her as a member of the rival band.

 

Thing is, I'd actually LIKE it if she was still bad, or at least a jerk. I didn't buy her so-called "redemption" for a moment. Redemption is something that has to be earned--often through a long or arduous process--not something that just happens so damn randomly. (I also feel the same way about Discord, but at least he's still a troll at heart).

 

One the other hand, she made a really bad villain. Normally a bad guy who tries to take over TWO worlds using dark magic & mind control steals my heart (both ways)...but she just wasn't very interesting or intimidating. She was more like a plot device than actual Villain. Especially since she was defeated so bucking easily and downright randomly...

 

So I'm not really sure what to DO with her if she ever does come back

Oh I see now, lol, I like that she'll be in the sequel, while she wasn't a great villain in Equestria Girls, she still may be a good character as a secondary.

Given that she's had a redesign on the EG site and an introduction video along with the Mane Six, I won't be too happy if it's just to sell the new toy of her, but turns out she actually isn't in the film or just in the background without any lines.

to be honest, I'd like for Sunset Shimmer to have become best friends with the mane five. Twilight Sparkle would be a new girl, and not the Twilight from the mirror. Sunset would get nervous because she thinks Twilight has come to try and replace her idk
