movies/tv What old movies do you think should be remade?

I know remakes can be kind of hit or miss, but if done right, I would really like to see these (pretty old) films remade for modern audiences:

1) Gaslight - Anyone see this one? It's a pretty classic psychological thriller, starring Ingrid Bergmann. The main plot follows a woman who is psychologically abused by her husband, who makes her believe she is crazy (in fact the term "gaslighting" is pretty commonly used to refer to making someone think they are losing it. I think emotional abuse is still a timely topic, so it could definitely work as a modern film. As for who would be in it, I'm not sure. I'd have someone more "average looking" for Paula, though.

2) The Birds - This is just begging to be redone with CGI! I have so many ideas of scary birds they could use, too. Marabous? Emus? Hummingbirds? Hell, just put every bird ever in there somewhere. Would it be cheesy? Yes, of course it would. But damn if I wouldn't go see it.

3) Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? - Here me out on this one. What if Baby Jane and her sister Blanche aren't former movie stars, but instead child reality TV stars? Something like Honey Boo Boo or the Gosselin children. With our current obsession with fame/popularity and the ease in which someone can become a "star," I actually think the story would work even better now.

4) Marnie - Another Hitchcock movie, albeit a more obscure one. I like the original, but it definitely has a lot of issues that could be worked out (especially the relationship between Marnie and her husband). They recently re-did Psycho as a modern-day set TV series (Bates Motel), so why not give this one a similar treatment? Especially since not as many people are "attached" to the source material.

What do you think? What should be re-made?

My choice isn't particularly old, and I wouldn't like to see it remade so much as I'd like to see it done properly this time, but that's Starship Troopers. The movie entirely missed the point of the book.

How about A Clockwork Orange, but obviously it has to be english, not american, I think if we get a remake we could make those 'ultra-violence' scene se even more violent, and the story could be told a bit better with improved filming stuff we have now,

There's not many movies I'd really want to see remade, especially with the movie industry's recent track record of remakes.

Now games on the other hand...

Tommy, I thought Quadrophenia was a great movie, Quadrophenia doesn't need to be remade because the original is epic and being a "mod" isn't really a thing anymore, But Tommy I thought was an extremely boring and pointless movie, It could of had a great story but instead we got celebrities like Elton John wearing silly clothes singing for the whole duration of the movie.

Was watching the original 1933 version of The Invisible Man the other night, and I was thinking how it'd be really cool if they remade the movie with a modernized appeal.

I was thinking, could be a REALLY bad thing but maybe it could be okay... depends on who did it but even then... still though... Star Wars Ep4-6... don't hurt me. :(

I don't know any good old movies that hasn't gotten a sequel.

It's less about a sequel and more to do with actually remaking the movies themselves, if I'm not mistaken.

The Horse In Motion (1878). That one is just *begging* for a remake...

I just watched the clip and I know you were joking but I guess you could loop the clip, Add a relaxing piano and add the sound of crackles and pops from an old turntable, Some people might watch it to get to sleep? :P
