Galatea had always been somewhat emotionally distant - but she used to be, at the least, polite towards other ponies. She used to try and be friendly. But not after the gray sickness had set in. When that happened, she isolated herself entirely from pony society, locking herself inside to keep from having to look at, let alone interact, with any other pony. Even her once-beloved cybernetic creation, Nano, was not exempt from this self-established rule of hers to not associate herself with other ponies.

Nano hopelessly lingered outside her door, being a robot colt that deeply cared and was concerned for his creator, his mother. But no matter how much he pleaded, she never responded. And for hours, he would sit in silence, listening to the sounds of bitter weeping on the other side of the door.

And being a robot colt with emotions, Nano felt saddened and confused by Galatea's strange behavior. Why was she doing this? What caused her to become so... depressed and isolated? He couldn't even begin to understand the reasons, the why or the how of all of this. All he knew was that something was so very seriously wrong with his mother.

Hazelnut gobbles down a muffin. He sees Galatea, he frowns and begins to trot over. He slowly approachers her as he is quite shy, he reaches into his bag and pulls out one of his favourite muffins. A hazelnut muffin. He slowly offers it to her.

@,

((OOC: Galatea is inside her home at this point in time.))

Galatea had only opened the door a crack, enough to peer out at the pony that had dared approach her in any manner. Her eyes, though their once-warm golden brown hues had been dulled, drilled into the young stallion that seemed to be offering her a muffin; and it might have been somewhat hard to tell, but there were tear stains on her face. "Go away," she said firmly with a scowl. "I want to be alone right now." Her voice cracked on the word 'alone,' and her eyes glistened with the threat of fresh tears.

Nano, who was still standing nearby, started to say, "Galatea, please - " He cut himself off when her gaze snapped to him.

"What the buck are you still doing here?" she seethed. "I thought I told you to leave me alone."

"I can't do that. You are my mother, Galatea. I care about you. I know something is wrong, and I want to help you!"

"I don't deserve that!" Galatea cried, tears welling in her eyes. "Please, just... leave me alone." The gray-hued mare glanced at Hazelnut, making certain he knew that that statement applied to him as well.

Hazelnut felt embarrassed, "I'm so sorry, I shouldn't be here" He said. He started to trot off and gobbled up his muffin on the way out. He turned back hesitantly and knew something was wrong. He continued off and ran into the distance. (filler filler filler)

Meanwhile everypony on Ponyville was having a normal life,Cloudsdale was a mess.A blue mare has gone angry, and he's hitting and making everything that she could to try to forget that anger, but it only increases and increases each time...

And to inagime that this day has started on a so kind way...Lightwing was walking through Cloudsdale, until sonething,or someone, make her turn grey.At the beggining, she didn't noticed nothing, but when somepony crashed with her...

"What the buck are you doing???"

She picked ip the pony for his tail, and threw it away.

"Urgh!!!I don't wanna be angry,but I am!!!"

And even, sometimes, she pick ups a random stallion who's walking through the street, hides with him,and makes stuff that could be censorable...

She was crossing the streets from Cloudsdale, meanwhile lots and lots of ponies were running from her.The pegasi security forces, and even the Wondervolt trird to fight her,but they ended on the floor.

She was sooo angry, that she could destroy all of Cloudsdale, just to try to calm herself...

River was strumming on her guitar and humming when Patterson came into the room with a look of concern.

Patterson: "River, sorry, we've got to go."

River: "Hmm? Where?"

"To Galatea's. Nano sent me a message. It seems Galatea is acting very unusual, and he wants us to come see if we can help get through to her."

"Uuuh, isn-"

"More unusual."

"Right. Lead the way."

She said as she put the guitar away. Soon they were out the door and on a train to Ponyville.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Within hours they arrived in Ponyville, and were at the door.

"Uh, Nano?"

Patterson inquired.

Nano was staring at the closed door before him when Pat and River approached. The robot colt looked to them at once and said, "Pat, River! Thank goodness you're here." Gesturing at the door, he then proceeded to explain, "Galatea has locked herself inside, and refuses to come out for any reason. She doesn't want to talk to anypony, myself included."

As he spoke, his desperation and sorrow only grew, and he was certain that it was apparent to the two ponies he was speaking to - especially since those feelings intensified when he started hearing the sound of crying on the other side of the door. It was a familiar sound to him by now, having heard it so frequently in the time since Galatea had contracted the gray illness; but it was still so very difficult for him to hear.

He looked at Patterson and River once more, almost in tears himself. "Please, I don't know what to do... You have to try and help her!" he pleaded.

Patterson was quite concerned. If Galatea wouldn't even talk to her creation, Nano, then why in Equestria would she talk to him or River. Plus, he had absolutely no experience with this sort of thing. He didn't really know what to say. He slowly approached the door and gave a short knock

Patterson: "Uh, Galatea? It's me Pat, and River. C-Could you possibly, tell us what's wrong?"

He waited for an answer, slightly afraid of what she might say.

The sound of weeping on the other side of the door paused as Galatea heard the knock. This time, she didn't even bother to open the door, snapping to the ponies on the other side, "Go away! I want to be alone..."

"That's what she always says to anypony that tries to talk to her," Nano noted with deep concern. Then, turning towards the door, he tried again to talk to Galatea himself, "Galatea, please, we're just trying to help you."

"I thought I told you to leave me alone, Nano!" the mare said in response to Nano's voice, though she sounded as if she were suppressing more tears. "Why can't you listen, you dumb pile of scrap metal!?"

Nano pulled away slightly from the door, her words dealing a clear blow to his emotions. "G... Galatea... Please..." He lowered his head, his ears folding flat, not sure what else to say to her.

Patterson was dumbfounded.

Patterson "I...er...this...is worse than I thought."

He said. Galatea's reaction was very disturbing. River was shivering.

"I-I'm afraid I don't know what to do, aside from leave her alone a while and see what happens. I have a feeling that even threats would be a waste of breath... I'm sorry Nano."

Nano looked at Patterson with some incredulity. "Leave her alone? I've been sitting out here for Celestia knows how long, and nothing has changed!" he cried. "Something is very seriously wrong, and she needs help! Break down the door if we must, we have to help her!"

After realizing that he was getting a little carried away, the robot colt tried to compose himself; but all he could do was fall apart. He sat, shoulders hunched, practically crumpling into a heap of misery. "I... I just don't know what I should do... I feel so... helpless..."

And on the other side of the door, all was quiet. Also not unusual from the ill mare, but it was almost as if she was listening in on the conversation taking place.

Patterson started wondering when Nano said "Break down the door if we must..."

Patterson: "Well, I'm not sure that I'm any less helpless. Exactly how long has she been like this?"

He asked. He looked at River, she was still trembling. He put a hoof on River to steady her.

Nano paused for a few moments of thought. "It's been... more than 24 hours," he said. Then he shook his head as he added, "I don't know the exact moment it happened... I simply came home to find that Galatea had locked the door and refused to let me in." The robot colt himself started to shiver slightly, his metallic joints gently clattering against one another.

"And I've been sitting here ever since... Only to be yelled at whenever I try to speak to her. Forced to listen to her weep for hours... And yet, I can't leave. I simply can't abandon her..." He looked to Patterson once more, tears welling in his eyes. "She is my mother... But I can't do anything to help her. I can't even figure out what it is that's wrong with her..."

Raze took a small little stroll across Ponyville, a straightsword dangling from a leather utility belt on his waist, taking his time. He really didn't have anything else to do, since he was on vacation from mercenary work in Ponyville. Suddenly, he saw a little stand to his left, with a quite cheerful mare selling candy.

Eh, I might as well buy something; I've got money to spare, he thought to himself as he approched the stand. He took out his money pouch, which was also on his belt, and looked inside.

"Alright, what can I buy with, uh... 25 bits?" he said as he took some coins out of his pouch. Suddenly, from the corner of his eye, he saw someone hastily running out of a building carrying a muffin bag, looking a bit frightened.

Hmm... that might be worth checking out later, Raze thought to himself again.

An unicorn, who had just recently entered Ponyville noticed 3 ponies outside of a house looking troubled, so naturally he went over to them and asked what's wrong.

Drakk:"Hey, what's wrong, you all seem troubled"

Said Drakk as he noticed the robotic colt, very surprised, as he has never seen a robotic pony. But he forgot that thought and waited for an answer, hoping to help despite his own troubles.

Astral was sitting inside the cave that he lived inside of in the Canterlot Mountains. This particular cave overlooked Froggy Bottom Bog, Everfree Forest, and Ponyville. This cave was dank, dark, and gloomy. Usually water dripping through the cracks of the mountain rocks were a bit of a problem but Astral couldn't be happier here especially when it came to having peace and quiet when conducting magicial experiments. Astral never really had a reason to come out of the cave other than to get some supplies. Why he lived this way was something only known to him and his parents. He was in the middle of revising a spell he created and was writing down some notes in order to keep track so he didn't have everything in his head. He could feel a slight unpleasant feeling in the air as the wind blew in from the huge cave opening. The candle that was beside him was flickering until the last of the wind blew it out. Astral narrowed his eyes a bit then got up from the desk that he was sitting at.

"I guess this'll have to wait until later...Something doesn't feel quite right. Maybe I should check it out, I doubt it's anything major."

With that, Astral stepped outside of the cave sometime later with him wearing his favorite black cape that he always wore nearly at all times. He looked to the distance where Ponyville was with his crimson colored eyes then gave a small breath in then out. It was a while since he returned to Ponyville although he never had anything against the town, he just preferred the peace and quiet. Deciding not to waste any time, he hopped over the cliff edge then dived toward the ground and at the last second, used telekinesis to completely stop his descent and landed on the ground softly just in the middle of the swamp. Luckily, the hydra that lived there was still asleep on the other side of the large lake of murky water that sat next to him. He quietly made his exit toward Ponyville following the mysterious feeling in the air. He hoped, however, this particular feeling wasn't as bad as a problem as the feeling in his gut made it out to be. It only took him 15 minutes to get to Ponyville from where he was walking and found himself in the middle of Ponyville right near the market. He hated being in such a public place but it couldn't be avoided.

"I'm here now...I wonder where this feeling is coming from. It's unusual to feel such...dread and despair coming from this place. I've got a bad feeling about this."

Astral said while he was mumbling to himself. He went ahead to take a walk around town to see if he could spot anything unusual. Knowing this place it'd be easy to guess considering how Ponyville usually is. He knew it wouldn't take long and he didn't exactly want to get completely involved since he felt that whatever it is could've been handled by that certain group, speaking of which he wondered if they felt it too. No time to let his mind wander about, he needed to find the source of this feeling and do something about it, however he could. His parents lived here, after all. If this place was in danger, he was going to do something about it before it got out of hand.

Nano accepted River's hug, briefly placing his foreleg around her before he looked to Patterson. He had been about to ask on what the one way to help would have been, when another pony approached asking what was wrong. Nano shied away slightly, folding his ears - his more timid streak showing through for a minute. "It's... a little difficult to explain..." he said slowly, glancing at the locked door.

Meanwhile, on the other side of said door, Galatea was exasperated by the fact that not only were the voices of the ponies outside not going away, there were more voices to be heard! At least, one more. "I thought I bucking told you to go away!" she shouted to the ponies outside. "I don't need ponies yapping outside my door about nothing!" To emphasize and punctuate her point, she gave the door a solid kick with one of her hind legs.

Nano shrank back from the door, his metal parts clattering together noticeably as he shivered. "G-Galatea..." he whimpered.

River also again started to shiver at the wrath of Galatea. Patterson was about to finish his sentence, when the other pony came along and Galatea got upset again.

Patterson: 'Oh colt, just what we need...'

He thought sarcastically. He did not want to be rude or tell the pony to go away, but this wasn't making the situation any better.

Astral heard yelling near where he was, he quietly looked around the corner of a house to see a group of ponies standing next to the door of another. Knowing the house was the source of the yelling but what was happening, he didn't know. He didn't want to be near the group. No, this distance was good enough for now besides he doubted that they could sense him there anyway. Although he did see something interesting, an actual live robot. Now that was something you didn't see everyday. It was unfathomable to think that Ponyville built robots, would it? Nah, it had to be the work of another pony. Perhaps the one inside of the house, seeing as how everyone on the outside seemed to be very worried about the shouting pony inside, he guessed. He turned his head from the corner and leaned against the wall.

"I doubt what I think what is going on is right. There's way too many strangers to say it's something as simple as a disagreement between friends. Hmm, maybe I should use my Astral Projection spell to look inside the house. At least that way, I'll see what's going on and no pony will notice I'm here." he said quietly to himself.

Astral sat down just a bit closer to the house that everypony was crowded around though he was still two houses away. He closed his eyes and his crimson magic aura faintly wrapped itself around his body. He started to concentrate on the house itself then a ghostly image of himself rose from his body then floated upwards until coming up behind the house. He used his projected image to stick his ghostly head inside of the house in order to look inside of it. At least to give him an idea of what was going on so that he wasn't guessing and maybe lend some help if needed to be

Drakk looked at the door, surprised even more than when he saw the robotic colt.

"I have never seen anypony that angry...Maybe if I could take a good look in their eyes, I could see what's wrong"

Whispered Drakk to himself, as he forgot there were 3 ponies beside him.

"Oh sorry, I got a bit carried away there, sorry if I made anything worse, but I would like to, er, help"

Said Drakk nervously to the other ponies.

"May I ask if it's able to take a good look in her eyes?"

Nano stared at Drakk for a few long moments, uncertain what to make of the pony's query at first. Then he narrowed his eyes in a clear expression of anger. "Sure you can... If she would open the door!" he cried, stomping one of his hooves in frustration.

Not more than a moment after, the robot colt shrank back, as if startled by his own outburst. He slowly turned away, staring forlornly at the locked door before him. He hadn't meant to snap at the other pony, but he was understandably upset over the situation, deeply concerned about his creator and mother Galatea.

Meanwhile, Astral, upon peeking inside the house, would see a mare that's seen better days. Galatea's formerly dark red coat was dulled to a dreary, grayed shade of what it once was; same for her previously warm golden eyes. Her mane was in a mess, having obviously been neglected, and the mare herself looked ragged and tired. Currently, she was glaring at the door, listening to the voices outside. But with each passing second, her tear-stained expression of hate was dissolving into one of despair and sorrow.

"Why..." she whispered to the silence inside her home. "Why are you still all out there? Why do you want to try to help me...? I... I'm nothing... I don't deserve..." She trailed off, slowly lowering her head as fresh tears welled in her eyes and spilled forth.

Raze looked back at the ever increasing commotion, and decided to see what could possibly be causing so much trouble.

"On second thought, I'll just come back later," he said quickly to the candy stand pony, and went over to where the noise was coming from. What he found was a robotic pony crowded amongst others who had also decided to see what was up.

Astral watched her with slightly wide eyes but he needed to keep his emotions under control so that he could maintain the spell. "Isn't that...Spike told me about this but I didn't...well, I thought...Guess that doesn't matter now, does it?" Astral said as he stepped his ghostly body inside of the house. Now, he needed to be careful not to get close to her, although he may appear ghostly now. She'd definitely feel a presence in the room if he stood too close to her. "I guess he's up to his old tricks again. I'm not surprised that I can feel this from far away too. It's not just here but everywhere although very faint. Thank goodness for that radar spell. But I've got to at least have those ponies outside this place to get in to help her. She needs her friends and...I guess complete strangers but they seem to have good intentions just like I do." Astral quietly made his way toward the door but stuck close to the walls passing Galatea so that she doesn't feel that he's there then stood in front of the door. He knew in order to use magic in this form, he'd need to pass it through his subconscious of his main body and it would mean that his ghostly body would be seen for a few seconds since magic tend to materialize things that are not often seen visibly even if it was only for a few seconds.

Astral's main body took a deep breath just as his ghostly form did to synchronize their consciousness with each other and Astral used his magic that kept his ghostly form unseen and used it to materialize his body a bit then to use the last bit of that magic to unlock the door. He used his hoof to turn the door handle halfway to signify to the rest of them outside that the door was unlocked. He only could do it a few seconds before his hoof went through the door handle. No doubt that Galatea could see him now. A tall, crimson and black maned stallion with a black cape on. Astral turned around to her but he didn't say anything to her at first. He just looked at her with a smile then walked toward her way. "It's time you woke up. What you feel isn't real but it will be up to you and them to get you back to the way you originally was. Don't think for a second that you're not worth it because that's obviously not true, especially when you have complete strangers willing to help you. You can do it, I have faith that you can and I'm sure that they do too." he said in his deep voice but since he had a ghostly form, it almost sounded ethereal in a way. Soon after that, he couldn't hold his concentration on the spell anymore and his ghostly body faded away. Making his real body gasp in surprise of having himself return to his normal body.

"There. I hope that helped you ponies. I...I need to take a bit of rest..." Astral gotten up from the ground but soon his legs buckled under him and he fell again. Although neglecting to rest after every time he conducting his experiments really had put him in a bind. He was just going to sleep right here. It was still night out so no pony would notice him and he knew that he could probably wake up before the sun came back then have enough time to head back to the cave where he lived in before checking on the other places where they might be this same problem. Thank goodness that he had a modified radar-like spell at his disposal that he could use at anytime. With that, he went ahead and fell asleep right there on the ground while he let the rest do what they needed to do.
