gaming Pokéfans! Which do YOU think was the easiest & hardest Pokémon games?

Hi! :3

I'm still brand new at Pokémon, I'm having a terrible time trying to beat Red, but I've heard that the older games were harder and the newer ones, especially X and Y, are getting easier for newer fans. But what do you guys think? What, in your opinion, do you think is the hardest and easiest Pokémon games?

Don't know about hardest, but X/Y are definitely the easiest, purely due to the EXP. SHARE making it easy to level everything up. The Elite Four and Champion were underleveled for my team, simply no challenge.

To be fair, they are all pretty easy.

I personally find the older games the easiest but only because I've played them so many times I know them very well. :P

As for hardest I'm not sure, I never had a hard time playing Pokemon but I've had to look at a guide once or twice for newer games.

X and Y were the easiest, thanks to the Exp. Share. Without the Exp. Share, though, I think that X and Y would be rather challenging. I'm not sure about this, though, since I used to think that you can't turn the Exp. Share off... >_>

Outside of X and Y, I think Ruby and Sapphire are the easiest. That doesn't stop them from being good games, however. Then again, an easy game is not a bad game... :P

I think the hardest Pokémon games are probably Red / Blue. I can't defeat the Elite Four, they're too hard. >_<

I think x and y and fire red and leaf green are the easiest. X and y give you the experience share early in the game so you're always on par with levels. Fire red and leaf green just makes be originals look like a challenge. As for the hardest it really depends on what starter you choose especially in gold and silver where I always choose chikorita and is weak to like half the gyms.

I've only played the newer games like Black & White and X & Y.

Older games such as red, emerald, ruby, etc. I don't really play; I do however play modded versions of them like Ponymon and Moemon, and hacked games.

So I would have to say:

  • Pokemon XY (easiest)
  • Pokemon mystery dungeon (all) (hardest)
  • Brohoof 1

If you ask me, you can't really determine the difficulty level of RPG games (of course, there are a few exceptions) as it all depends on the level, movesets, abilities, strengths and weaknesses of your character(s).

The easiest Pokemon game ever (in my opinion) was Soul Silver. They literally hand you everything with an extra 20 PokeDollars. The hardest was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team just because. The most fun Pokemon game, I think we can all agree, was Pokemon FireRed.

I forgot about how hard Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red and blue rescue team was. Seriously, as a kid I only ever got up to team meanies and the only way I beat it was with an infinite health cheat. Which sucks that I can't make it that far fairly because the game has one of the most touching stories in a Pokemon game.

Speaking of PMD, I found the series to be a real challenge, too. For Blue Rescue Team, I only ever got up to Groudon before giving up and giving away my game. For Explorers of Time, I could never beat Primal Dialga so I wanted someone else to beat him for me. What baffles me even more is that I only defeated Palkia on my second try and Darkrai on my first. Primal Dialga? Probably around sixty or more tries before someone defeated him for me. >_>

Ruby was tough for me. I eventually gave up because I found it boring after continually trying to beat a certain gym leader. That was seven years ago I think.  >_>

Which one because I always found the second one really hard?

A hard Pokémon game ingame? lol, I don't think any of them are that hard really, although I guess the third games in any given generation tend to up the difficulty quotient at least a little bit. :P

Main series games? None of them, it's all just grinding, although Crystal took me the longest. (Mostly because it was my first.) The one that I blew through the fastest was X/Y, and that's even with all of the different and new stuff I tried out. I love the games, but I wouldn't call them challenging. Battling other people is fun though.

Yeah, X and Y were definitely the easiest on account of the fact that the EXP.Share next to eliminated the need for major level grinding. For hardest though I would have to go with Diamond and Pearl, especially the Elite Four. I mean, the Elite Four of every generation has always been meant to be challenging, but the SInnoh group got the sharpest difficulty spike of them all in my opinion. The first three aren't too bad, but then we get to Lucian perpetuating the image that Psychic trainers are inheritably cheap and directly after him is Cynthia, whose team consists of several Pokemon commonly banned in tournaments. Her Garchomp alone can KO your entire team without breaking a sweat, even if you have ice types.

Hardest?

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon; Explorers of Sky.

Try beating all five Zero Isles and Destiny Tower and get every single special item. I dare you. Though, I am one of the few people that found Primal Dialga to be a joke (I just spammed Agility and Focus Punch, judge me.) and Mt. Travail hell itself.

For Destiny Tower, it's 100 goddamn floors, you go in alone with no items and your level drops to one with all of your moves reset as if you were level one, no money, no nothing, and you have to rely PURELY based on luck and extremely high iq. And yes, you have to do 100 floors WITH NO CHECKPOINTS. Just 100 straight floors. At least there's no boss at the end... I've been trying to beat it, highest floor I got to was the 78th floor. Don't ask me how I did that. I only lost because I was almost at the stairs, hit a warp trap, and warped into a MONSTER GODDAMN HOUSE. And I was out of Oran Berries, my PP was almost gone and I didn't have enough time to ingest my Max Elixers, and it wasn't even my turn. So I got killed within the next 5 seconds. I threw my 3DS at the wall. The only reason I got to the 78th floor was because of A luck and B spamming agility.

Main game, Emerald, oh my god that Battle goddamn Frontier. The only gold symbol I have is Lucy's. And that was purely based on luck. I have all of the silver symbols, though. Besides the Battle Factory. I keep on getting sucky guys.

Pokemon X and Y are hands down the easiest. There's no debating that. As for the hardest, well, all of the first 3 gens had at least one spot that was stupid hard to make it through. 1st had Misty and her Starmie (or even her and Brock if you started Charmander) as well as Mt. Moon and the road leading to the pokemon league, 2nd gen had Whitney and her bs Miltank that Rolled Out everything to death and doesn't afraid of anything, and 3rd gen has the character's father who was to be fought directly after beating the gym leader previous to him with no trainers to train off of in between. Even though you can just spam levels off of wild pokemans, it was a tad unexpected to be faced with such a foe when there was no place for advancement before him.

I can't really decide which i found the hardest overall, though, im feeling like it's a tie between 1st and 2nd gen for me.

Ateast, according to way back when i was young. Now, all of them should be easy peasy.
