Luciferian thread

Disclaimer: If this is in the wrong board, feel free to move it. I haven't seen any Luciferian threads, so I made one.

Anyone who is Luciferian is welcome to discuss the religion, beliefs, etc here. Anyone who isn't a Luciferian is welcome to browse the thread and to use it to decide if Luciferianism is right for you, and people of all faiths are welcome, but this will not be a religious debate thread.

Anyways, I'm Gnostic Luciferian. I believe Lucifer isn't a being of darkness, but instead, an angel/deity of light. Luciferians believe in the divinity of mankind over the divinity of any one deity. There are 2 main branches of Luciferianism. Theistic Luciferians focus on the religious side, and believes there are literal deities. Lucifer for example. They also do magickal rituals, either solitary, or with small groups. The purpose for these rituals is for self improvement, and also to meet with other Luciferians.

Secular Luciferianism focuses more on the divinity of mankind, without believing in deities, although I believe they still believe there is a Lucifer, but he doesn't consider himself divine, he sees himself as a mentor/friend/teacher/professor/etc.

I don't know enough about the other forms to comment on them, but I know at the very least in the style of Luciferianism I practice, all members are referred to as light workers. We spread our knowledge to help people find their spirituality, while also helping the people be aware of world problems which disturb the peace and harmony of the world. We have no need for pretense, deceit, half truths, etc, because we train to use the very beliefs of those who are against us to show them that they are misinformed, but we don't go around looking for debates. We will however, answer any questions anyone has, and if someone is really aggressive in trying to attack Luciferianism, we WILL use logic and truth to show them the error of their ways.

I see you've taken playing Devil's Advocate rather seriously.

As much as that could be seen as blasphemous to my beliefs, I had to laugh at that xD But seriously, Lucifer has nothing to do with the devil. Hell is a made up place based on Hel and Hades.

That movie was actually pretty darn good.

Well there is some good evidence for Lucifer being the hero of the Bible. First of all his revolt was was in the right place he didn't want the Kingdom for himself, he wanted to turn a dictatorship (God) into a place where all were even. Next let's look at the kill count in the Bible. God has killed from 13-32 million people in the Bible, Lucifer only 3 and they were brought back to life so a net 0. Think about that.

Its funny also, that Lucifer is oft associated with a goat. Back in the Old Testament goats were used to take the punishment of sins and inequity.

Thus our term for "scapegoat"

I read an interesting poem once that seemed Luciferian in origin. Basically Jesus was Lucifer, the Scapegoat. I wish I knew where that poem was, but that I read it a long time ago. I'm sure it's floating around the net somewhere. Probably a few similar poems out there.

Funny thing about that. I think a lot of Luciferians believe that Jesus was actually Lucifer, and I did some research into Gnostic Christianity, and I'm not sure if the beliefs are connected, but they believe that Jesus is the son of Sophia, otherwise known as mother earth. Gnostic Christianity sounds a lot like Catholicism, because they mention the mysteries of the crucifixion, and have members repeat certain parts multiple times, and have everyone say amen at the end of every prayer. I know that the onw who introduced me to Luciferianism believes in Sophia, although not sure if she believes in most of the Gnostic Christianity religion or just believes the mythos about Sophia. It would be really cool if Luciferianism ties in nicely with Gnostic Christianity, it will be like I'm still Christian, just with cooler heroes, and I would still get to believe in Jesus. Sophia sounds a heck of a lot more like a parent of Jesus (who represents everything good) than a warlike god like Yahweh.

I know a little bit about Gnosticism. It focuses more on knowledge rather that faith, and the Catholic Church had a real hatred of them back in the day.

One of the more interesting aspects of the Gnostic mythos is that Yahweh was really something called the "Demi-urge". The Demi-urge is like an imperfect god that couldn't realize it emanated from something higher from itself and exercises its power like a child that hasn't grown up.

One of the bests sites on the net for religious sources.
