What episode made you realize who your favorite pony was?

So, I've always gone by the theory that a Brony does not pick their favorite pony, but their pony picks them. As in, like a cutie mark, you realize that exact moment when your favorite pony becomes your favorite. Isn't that a sweet idea? ^^

 

Anyways, I know some Bronies have to think about it for a while, and some just flat out pick one just to have one (which are both perfectly fine, by the way! ^^), but for some, it hits you and hits you hard when you see a particular episode, at least I believe so.

 

My question is: What episode made you realize who your favorite pony was?

 

Bonus Points: Back story?

 

Since this is the first post, I'll go first. Of course, my favorite pony is Twilight Sparkle (Celestia help if you didn't know that already. ^^"). But as the question states, what episode made her my favorite? My little Twily Sparkles? ^^ <3

 

The episode is already my favorite, obviously, and that would be Magical Mystery Cure Part 1.

 

The exact moment when it hit me, I think, was the ending of Celestia's Ballad when Twilight Sparkle was floating in the air before she transformed into an Alicorn.

 

 

 

 

I felt so hard.

 

Basically, that's when I became the Twilight Sparkle fan I am today, when I truly realized who my favorite pony was.

(It felt like getting a cutie mark, I bet. ^^)

"A Friend in Deed" really confirmed for me that Pinkie Pie is my favorite pony.

I couldn't help but respect her because of the lengths she's willing to go to for somepony else's happiness.

I see a lot of beauty in the way that she loves to spread smiles and happiness, especially since they are things that I personally struggle with.

I always loved Rainbow Dash's art and the fact that she is just all round cool and loyal. However, I'm currently mid way through season 2 and I'm not gonna lie Fluttershy has grown a lot on me, especially since the Galloping Gala, and I now probably like her as much as Rainbow Dash.

Shy characters almost always catch my attention right away. Some may call them 'boring', however I tend to enjoy them the most, as I'm quite shy myself and can relate to them more easily than other characters.

As weird as it sounds, Applejack was the first pony I knew. I saw some dude with an Applejack avatar (who handled it quite well, btw) getting trolled on a Phoenix Wrong video for having an MLP avatar. So I was all like "Ok, whatever. I might look into that sometime."

 

Then I saw a Fluttershy fan and a Pinkie fan (neither of which handled it as well as the AJ fan, I should add) getting trolled. So I knew those 3.

 

Finally, first episode I stumbled upon was "Hurricane Fluttershy" Of course, that introduced me to Twilight and RD, and I had already known Fluttershy.

 

I decided to watch Equestria Girls after that. Dive right in. What would I be losing out on? Hurricane Fluttershy was a great episode, but not enough to induce a long-term interest out of me.

 

Then along came Rarity

I remember when I saw her. First thing I heard her say was "TWILIGHT!!! WHERE IS YOUR CROWN!?!?!" I didn't know her, but something sort of piqued my curiosity about the white unicorn

Then, she said something about how she'd probably sleep in it, and I thought she was Twilight's foil, actually. I hadn't ever seen her before, and she was talking about what she would do if she was princess, so did Twilight beat her out to be a princess?

Nonetheless, I was engaged. Something about her really struck a chord with me. She didn't appear in the movie as an EQG for a while, and I was wondering where she was. Then the yearbook scene in the library said something about "Rarity" and it showed a picture of the 5 besides Twilight in the yearbook, so I knew her name was Rarity

 

Then, after she was introduced, the more I watched her, the more I fell in love with the mare. She was so great...man, I remember I went out and actively searched for Rarity episodes to watch after that I also refused to watch any episodes without Rarity in them for a while  

I really connected with her upon the very first time I saw her, and now she's got me in trapped in her hooves, and I ain't gonna be complainin' about it anytime soon

I decided on Twilight as my favorite in A Canterlot Wedding, more specifically the scene where she accuses Cadance. I really sympathized with her here, and I just didn't understand how all her friends could side with somepony they'd known for one day over one of their best friends.

That wasn't an exact episode,but,the firsr episode that made me notice Applejack on a good way was Super Speedy Cider Squizer 6000

4.When I started to like her

That's a bit longer than the others,but...here it comes

 

On the most beggining of my Bronydom,i liked Rainbow Dash first (Stereothype mode ON ).But,as I started to see the show from the beggining,my opinion had changed through the time...

After Rainbow Dash,I liked Pinkie Pie,Twilight,and Rarity(On that order ),and all that happened through the same month.

But when I was on "The Super Speedy Cider Squizer 6000,Applejack stole my heart with her infamous sentence

"Ah didn't learn Anything!".After that,I started to care more and more for Applejack.I watched her episodes again,and that things that I didn't cared at the beggining,now I was caring for them.

On that moment,I proclamed that I was an Applejack fan,but I thinked that I would change again from likings...It passed. 8 months since then,and my love for Applejack is still as strong as on that moment.

Pinkie Pie became my favorite before I had even watched a single episode (it was a video compilation of her "best moments" that got me to like her). If that wasn't the case, however, then the episode would be "Mmmystery on the Friendship Express". That episode was really funny, which is why Pinkie is my favorite: she makes me laugh.

Dragonshy and  the Pilot episode

 

I got into the fandom fairly early, a friend showed me the song "Winter Wrap up" and I rather liked it. So I searched around and found the episodes. I watched them in order, up until Winter Wrap Up which was the newest episode at the time. Upon seeing Fluttershy on screen, in the Pilot, I felt an instant connection with her. The way she introduced herself reminded of me. Then, when I watched Dragonshy, that episode cemented her at the top of my best pony list. as my fave and best pony.

 

 

For a short time Dash was my fave  along with Fluttershy, as I instantly became fascinated by pegasus, though I had a deeper connection to Fluttershy. She's been my waifu and best pony ever since. My love for her, over these 3+ years, has grown ever stronger as well. <3

Rarity takes manehatten. It didn't convince me by itself, but it did start the process. After watching it I went back and checked out all the older Rarity episodes again, and wondered how I never realized just how good most of them were. Sure, I knew they were good, but they just didn't sink in until then.

But The Last Roundup made me realize how Derpy was a great character.

Before I saw the show, I really liked Rainbow Dash's design. I figured when I met her, she'd be my best pony.

 

The first episode I stumbled upon was Party of One. I liked it, but I stopped five minutes because I felt I was missing something.

 

Soo, I went back to Friendship is Magic. And as soon as I saw Pinkie float in the air and gasp before speeding off, I was like: "BEST. PONY."

Party of One is when I figured out that Pinkie Pie was my favorite pony, I really liked seeing that Pinkie wasn't that stereotypical pony who was too energetic for their own good and that she actually has to deal with the problem of her depression... not sure if that was the best way to word it but oh well...
