Does anypony believe in unicorns?

I don't mean the ones from the show. I mean the divine pure beings who helped humankind in the old days, before we lost touch with mother earth and became greedy. I just watched The Last Unicorn, and it gave me such strong feels ;.; All of the protagonists are likable, and Amalthea is such an interesting character. I feel that even if they don't exist physically, there must be unicorns in some form who still watch over humanity. Many goddesses have had some association with unicorns as well. For instance, Artemis  was said to have white unicorns drive her chariot of chastity. And there are even unicorns found painted on cave walls. So unicorns are pretty much as old as humankind, if not older.

I know there are many who believe in the fey, and I think unicorns are a type of faerie, so I have a strong feeling that they exist too.

Now...I can't really say for sure that Unicorns have ever existed. But I personally don't think they did/have/do.

Except Twilight Sparkle, because she's real. She lives in my heart. ^^ <3

I'm neutral. They could exist but there's no proof of it.

I'm of the same mind, but I wouldn't say I'm neutral. I believe unicorns do not exist, but am open to the possibility.

Basically, if they did exist, there would have to be a sizable breeding population, and since unicorns are large creatures, the chances of nobody having any solid evidence of such a population is extremely low.

This goes for every cryptid, as well.

Except Sasquatch, of course. He's totally legit :P

The reason there's no evidence is I think that they only appear to the pure of heart. I heard that only a maiden who is pure of heart is pure enough to ever see, or approach a unicorn. Although I did hear that everyone has a guardian unicorn, they just need to meditate, and imagine they're in a beautiful forest, with a pond. There should be a rustling in the woods, and a beautiful creature (unicorn) should appear. At that point, you can either ask for a wish, ask the unicorn to share some of it's wisdom (or was it something else, I forgot), or ask the unicorn to sit by you and share some of it's peace. When you're done, thank the unicorn for visiting you, and if you want, ask for a sign that the unicorn visited you. When you go outside, see if you can find a white feather.

There are actually stories where people dreamed about unicorns, and when they went out, they found a white feather. One even claimed that upon thinking of the unicorn and smiling, he found a white feather and picked it up.

Edit: I also read that if one is pure and virtuous to the point where the body cannot contain it, a unicorn will appear to them.

I have actually always been super interested in Cryptozoology and mythical creatures living among us.

I for one, am a strong believer in mythical creatures loving in modern times. I realize that may sound crazy, but I see no reason why they can't exist.

I'm not saying that I think unicorns talk, cast spells, etc. In fact, I would think they're nothing like Twilight or any other MLP character.

I don't know exactly how they would act, but I think they're around somewhere.

i agree with you actually. i think there is a vale of some sort that hides them from us. only those who can accept things that we cant possible understand and see/interact with them. its why i think kids have imaginary friends or guardian angels. kids are always willing to accept new things that they don't fully understand, unlike 90% of adults >_>  so even though i haven't seen anything mythical since i was a kid i will always believe they are out there watching over us

Perhaps. Perhaps not. I've always been a fan of cryptozoology, the supernatural and all that. I like to believe that unicorns and dragons and other mythical legends did have a base truth, that was more than the idea of a hoax or widely blown out of proportion rumours. However, science truly is the one real truth, and although it has uncovered many magnificent things, we still come up short on the whole mythological creatures aspect.

That isn't to say that there is no truth to the stories(after all, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.), we've still barely started working on the ocean. It's just difficult to believe that something so commonly spoken about and sought after, is still eluding us. Something that from a logical point of view should have been spotted from a mile away, considering the sheer number of people and the recent state of technology.

Whilst I keep hopeful that perhaps they were once real, my mind is more interested in the possibilities of using science to create them instead.

Found some information from a witch website about unicorns. It appears they are similar to angels. They work on very similar frequencies, and often work with angels due to compatible frequencies. They aren't flesh and blood animals who are limited by the physical plane. Their kingdom is actually in a star, and they use nature, as well as people who are living manifestations of light and love as portals to our world. It is impossible to see a unicorn with physical eyes, one has to meditate while imagining different types of fae, such as gnomes, leprechauns, elves, etc. And eventually, they will see a unicorn. This would explain why there is no scientific proof of unicorns. They do not WANT to be discovered, or proven, for if they are proven, man will find some way to exploit them somehow. They usually only show themselves to people in times of great distress, or if one spends a lot of time trying to heal others. When one meditates and gets a visit from a unicorn, that unicorn can help the person achieve enlightenment.

Also, they say that if you hold a rose quartz crystal in your hand while imagining a unicorn touching your third eye with it's horn, you can feel the energy of the crystal flowing into your hand, then down your arm, then you can imagine the energy from the crystal combining with the unicorn's healing energy. A unicorn's horn contains curative properties, and light, love, and wisdom.

Well, my take on unicorns is I believe they are like Amalthea. They're empaths and speak with a mind voice. And they do have a form of magick, although I think it's only used to heal (basically, their horn is what gives them magick, and their horn contains wisdom, light, and love, along with having curative properties)

Personally, I don't believe in them, however, there are a lot of things on this planet that hasn't even been discovered by Man, so its all a mystery.  Yet, I am open for possibilities.
