gaming Wii U.

I got the Zelda Wind Waker bundle, only to discover that my apartment's TV doesn't have input ports. But because it's playable on the gamepad, it worked out alright. Wind Waker HD is the only game I have for it yet, but it was pretty good. Just as good as I remembered.

It has some of the worst marketing ever coupled with the worst name ever. But otherwise it's a solid console, and probably has the most appealing library among all the 3 consoles, and not just because it came out a year early

I think it is a great console if you're looking to play the exclusives, such as Zelda Wind Waker HD, Pikmin 3 (those are the ones I've played and they were awesome!)... and it is about to get better when Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. 4 release!!! But if you're looking to play third-party games I'd recomend a PS4 or XB1 better.

I think Xbox One's name is worse, not a hater, I own it, but yeah, Wii U's name could be better.

It's okay, but I predict less and less third party titles coming out as the PS4 and Xbox One continue to advance, and that could be a problem.

You're absolutely right! This is the biggest problem we're going to have on the Wii U, but I guess most of the people who buy it look for the first-party games, well, I did.

I honestly think the Wii U's name is worse, Xbox One sounds dumb, but it isn't as ambiguous or confusing as U(seriously people still think it's an add on)

Guys, the name isn't that bad. Not saying I particularly like it, as I wish they had dropped the "Wii" brand altogether. But at least they tried to be unique with it instead of just naming it "Wii 2", which I see a lot of people saying they should have... Ridiculous.

Whatever the problem is that's holding the system back, it's not the name.

Anyway, yes, it's not really worth getting right now. But late next month the new Mario Kart 8 comes out and it looks really good.

Hey, everypony  can your other consoles turn on the T.V. like  a remote with  game pad  that the Wii- U  can ?  Anyway I think the Wii- U is awesome like me as Rainbow Dash soaring with the Wonderbolts  I love the old school return of Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and Mario and Luigi-U then I rented the awesome  blue hare speedster this side of Equestria called Sonic Lost World it was fantastic, Games coming to Wii-u  are Transformers dark Cybertron , A new Pokémon game that will blow your mind  and last Watchdogs !

I don't have a Wii-U but I think of it the same way as I do any other console:

The console itself does not matter. The games that are on it are the only thing that matters. The console is merely a conduit on which to access those games.

People are really bashing on the console so much, it makes me sick. Sure there aren't alot of games for the WiiU, so didn't other consoles that nintendo put out, like the gamecube. I have one, but i'm so alone on miiverse... I have no friends on there

Everything Nintendo does, people will have something to complain about.

That being said, I've had my Wii U since launch day, and I eagerly await the release of Smash 4.

I think smash bros will get everyone buying the WiiU. Plus it will also be the killer app, hands down

It blows.

Kidding, kinda sorta.

I don't really like the Wii U, I've had one several times and they always end up breaking. Then I call Nintendo to help me fix it, and they as for $100 to fix their own console, that's just silly.

Down to the design, I don't think it's necessary to have a gamepad tablet thingy as your controller. Gamers have done find for years with a controller and like the old saying goes "If it's not broke, don't fix it." I can understand having new ideas and everything, but Nintendo needs to test these big ideas out cautiously from here on. Because of the Wii U being a big bummer, it's put the company's finances in the pooper, it's like the Virtual Boy all over again, you know?

Really though, if they just made a GameCube 2 with of course 1080p HD and the same but slightly tweaked controller, I think they would be doing a lot better off. There are plenty of gamers out there who think the GameCube controller is literally the best controller of all time, which I can sort of agree with them.

It's a cool idea to be able to play the exact same game on the gamepad in lower resolution when someone wants to watch TV, but what if, like 85%+ gamers, you don't share your console with your family nor do you use it as a media solo device, and you just want to play games on it. Well, the gamepad is already useless, because why play on a ganmepad with poor graphics when you can play on your TV in 1080p HD? Also, the fact that wireless devices such as your cell phone or wireless modem, yes the devce you use to get on the internet, can have a karge change of lagging your gamepad's wireless connection.

Gamers don't typically want a giant tablet sized controller that has a short battery life with poor wireless connection, we want controllers. There's nothing wrong with them, why change it up, Nintendo? If you want to try something new, take Sony's stand point. The Duelshock series has done fine and has even been at times an icon for gaming. The controller has been redesigned 4 times and they just made a huge redesign with Deulshock 4 where they modded the thumbsticks and even put a touch screen on the controller. Sony's taking baby steps, while Nintendo tries to make a succesful predessor to one of its all time best selling consoles and taking a huge risk by placing all their money on the table. The Wii U turned out to be a bummer  and has the company's profit in the toilet. Hence why Sony is in 1st place so far in this gaming generation.

It sucks right now because of the lack of 3rd party support and it's gimmicky nature.

But jutst wait until the new Super Smash Bros comes out.

And then...!

AND THEN....!

Nintendo won't have the ability to keep up with the demand.

We all know how horrible the Wii's 3rd party support was. Sadly, it seems like it would be the same matter for the Wii U, whether it's several low-quality games, or barely any at all. However, that doesn't necessarily mean the Wii U is going to fail, as long as they're always producing kick-ass 1st party titles. I got one for Christmas last year, and after playing a few of the Marios and Zeldas, I'm liking it so far. I'm definitely looking forward to Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros.

But Nintendo. Where's that new Star Fox?

It looks pretty good, I mean, c'mon its nintendo, all of the consoles I've had from them are awesome. How could this be bad? I just won't really play it that much since I play pc and xbox only really now. So it would be a waste of money if I would never play it.

I'm withholding any final judgment until Mario Kart AND Super Smash Brothers 4 comes out for it but as of now...it's a solid system with a lack of games worth buying. The ones that are worth buying are mostly either on the 3DS OR or or...just remakes. They don't have any true exclusives to the system making it worth buying.

Basically unless Nintendo gets off their handheld & retro high horse or SSB4/Mario Kart does well or we see a new 3d mario platformer like galaxy, sunshine and 64...yeah the system is solid with very little to offer making it worth the purchase.

I think that the Wii U is a good handheld console, but Nintendo needs to take some risks once in a while. They are doing a good job no doubt, I want to see what they would do outside of their comfort zone.
