What if humans had cutie marks?

You know, that would be really cool, :D.  Then again, it would be a little silly if humans had cutie marks on there thighs, but for girls, it would be fine.  For guys, it would be better on the shoulders.

(now that you mentioned that though, I was tempted to get a "tattoo cutie mark, I used on my OC.)

As I have no real talents, I'd still be a blank flank (or arm, whatever) and that would just give people more reason to harass me. No thank you.

Well, drug makers and criminal master minds would be fucked xD

Dude, you have to see my cutie mark!  It's heroin!

Thi would be awful, everyone would have to do what their cutie mark is telling them.

Unlike the episode referenced here, cutie marks always represent something that the pony/person is not only good at, but likes doing.  Of course, this can be somewhat limiting as it only represents one talent.

if applejack can work on a cherry farm then a typewrighter repair man can learn to do something else similar.

Like repairing computer keyboards, or just machines in general.  I guess a cutie mark can be like a college degree, where a degree can lead to similar careers, but not necessarily the career intended.  For example, if you get a degree in economics, you could go into politics.  The same would apply to cutie marks.

This would probably be an issue.  However, as someone emphasized earlier, this would cause children to have a greater urge to find their destiny.  Of course it doesn't always have to be hard: half of background ponies have music cutie marks, so if you can play in instrument, you may be able to get a music cutie mark.  If you have a potential talent better than music though, a mark probably won't appear for music.  Before long, they'd probably develop tests for kids to see what they'd probably be talented at so they can get their cutie mark faster.

If people had a cutie mark, I would be so happy :) Why? Becouse, I think life could be easier... Everyone would know how they should do, to do something perfect. Nobody would feel unnecessary. And day in which someone get a CM would be very important... So It would more reasons to make a party with alcohol and many cool things.

But humans should have CM on the thigh, not arm, not hip. It can be a secret! And human, who get a CM would show it on The Cutie Mark Party. and in those party pretty girls with awesome legs show their thigh to show a CM... i think that men would like it XD

I don't like the idea of one mark representing what you are more than likely going to be doing for the rest of your life, that's what makes us so unique, us humans can all have MANY different talents, not just something dedicated to some magical mark or symbol on us.

On the contrary, just because you have a mark that says what's you're best at doesn't mean you can't have other talents or professions. Fluttershy's mark involves animals, but she also has knowledge of sewing that equals if not possibly rivals Rarity, whose mark also has next to nothing to do with her job.

I think it would be cool if humans had something that tells at a glance what they excel at, though multiple parts of daily life would probably change drastically. For one, schooling would change to better accommodate peoples talents, no tot mention I could see clothing being made to show off your mark (I'm thinking it would more than likely be on you upper arm or shoulder).

No one would feel unnecessary except for those who don't have a cutie mark.  Maybe they'd just get generic music cutie marks like the background characters have

Keep in mind that you'd probably get a cutie mark somewhere between 10 and 16 years old (except for those violin prodigies who'd get it at age 3).  That rules out alcohol at most cutie mark parties.

It'd be hilarious if women could get cutie marks in being sexy.

That would be a HORRIBLE cutie mark to get.

That showed just how bad that kind of cutie mark could be.

Yea, maybe but now many people even don't what talent they have and this is sad, they don't listen when someone told their that they are good in something, but when they would get a CM, they have a certainty what they should do.

So I think that it would be less people whoes feel unnecessary.

Yes, those wouldn't drink an alcohol but adult guest- yes.

But I think, that most of people would get a CM between 14-17.

Interesting how would be look like a pornstars cutie marks. XD

Perhaps it could be something a little less specific. As in the cutie mark displayed a more generalised image of what the person is good at, widening their capability to something else in that field, or even just somewhat related. :squee:

Honestly, if humans had cutie marks, I'd get mine lasered off! I absolutely hate tattoos!

It's a cutie mark, not a tattoo though. That'd be like lasering your birth mark off.......

The problem comes with changing technology.  Your talent could be as a typewriter repairman -- this was very valid 30 years ago.  Now that typewriter on your flank would be an albatross around your neck.

We constantly displace workers.  It is part of a thriving adapting economy.  It requires people to roll with the punches.

Ponies actually slow down their advancement to accommodate the cutie marks.

If they had a huge industrial revolution due to say first contact with humans, there would be HUGE displacements and ponies would have to do things that they do not have a special talent in.

Fillies and Colts would get new cutie marks to represent the new conditions but it would be a real problem on say farm ponies if all of a sudden farm work became 9 times more efficient.

This is what I first thought of too, then I also wondered, would some people have the same cutie marks? What if my talent is computers and so is "Billy bob"? I think we'd run out of symbols to put on our flanks lol.
