What are your standards?

For someone to be your friend, what are your standards?

When it comes to me, if you're nice and do not do anything mean to my big sister, I might just be your friend.

Anything personal I don't hold against you, if you're a clopper I don't care.

Enjoy torture porn? Hey that's what you fancy, I simply do not mind.

Have a crush on a pony? Well, that's your thing (but not mine.)

Commited incest, O.o

Ya, that's kinda where I draw the line though. So I guess I have standards?

As long as a person doesn't do anything that hurts others, then I have no beef with them.  But for me to actually want to be friends with a person irl, said person must be kind, mature, and honest.  I guess those would be the top three characteristics I would look for.

*nods*

Hmmm, question how mature do they have to be?

I really put respect as high regard. If the person respects me, the person is a viable friend. I'm cool if he/she's got some weird interests, I respect them about it because I am compelled to do so.

I can be friends with almost anybody who isn't explicitly harming or actively planning to harm others. If they're only doing it to themselves even, that's fine. Not my business unless they allow me to make it my business. So I have really lax standards. Over the years I've been friends with quite a few types of people.

I become friends with the people I just 'click' with. Similar hobbies and interests can cause it, but it's mostly personality. Those people are generally funny, kind or clever. Sometimes they're loud, sometimes they're reserved, some are a little cynical and others are very warm. Some people just one of those three things, while others are all three.

It's probably easier to list the things which push me away. Poor hygiene, bigotry, cruelty, apathy and immaturity are the biggest. I'll tolerate, but I won't be calling myself 'friends' with such people.

Be nice to me, be nice to my waifu :D

Not gonna lie, when someone's a Rarity hater, I automatically think less of them. I could want to be someone's friend, "oop, Rarity hater, they can come to me instead." :D

I usually end up arguing with them, anyway, so it's whatever.

I usually befriend people I 'click' with, and who can put up with me or at least want to be my friend. Typically these people are gentle, funny/humorous and kind, but I have friends that each have something different about them, which makes them more special.

My standards? 3.5 drinks at 60% proof.

Just gotta be a good kind of person. I don't really have a standard of friendship. If someone wants to be my friend, great! They're more than welcome to be. However, if you're gonna be an asshole(to me or those undeserving of it), then I'd like to have nothing to do with you.

i don't have any frineds but  to be my frineds you have to want to understand me and who i am.   Likeing guns, shooting, swords, and weapons would be at the top of my list. Soomeone who keeps there word, if you say your going to be there or do something do it.  I would like to have a least one female in my group.  I really don't have any standards. Really i good frined would be someone that if the zombie apocolypse was to happen i would know you have my back.

this is a good friend to me http://youtu.be/1oPjhrV8HjM

My standards for an acquaintance are just that they have to not do anything to really harm me or anyone else. I don't really care about beliefs, opinions, or what they get off too. As long as it's not something like "Kill all blacks" or something else extremely stupid and bigoted.

My standards for a friend are a little bit different. I have to be really able to talk and connect with them on something. It could be video games, or it could be discussions about the nature of existence. I just need to be able to really be myself around them.

Generally speaking I don't have any standards. I just don't like people enough to consider many friends so much as acquaintances. Friends are people who I enjoy keeping in contact with and they like keeping contact with me where we think the same way about certain things. It's extremely rare that I find anyone that I truly click with on enough of a level to be considered a friend.

Sorry folks. It's not that I dislike you, I just find a lot of human interaction to be boring and a waste of time when I could be talking about more interesting things or even DOING more interesting things.

Ironically you could consider it a standard that I need to have some form of major common interest with you to consider you a friend but beyond that I don't much care about what type of person you are. A friend is a friend.

I don't want a perfect friend... no one is perfect and if it was a person I wouldn't see a flaw yet I would be concerned because usually that means they're hiding something

I just want respect, you respect me cool, I respect you cool, we don't even have to like the same things, we don't have to have the same friends, or wear the same crap, all I ask for is respect.

If I see injustice to someone else that is overboard (not a little fight they had I'm talking big here like in a criminal way) then I just can't be friends with someone like that.

If I see a friend having stupid standards of what people are supposed to be like for THEM and reject other people like trash just because it would make me think they would do the same to me (and I'm talking about Egomaniacs) so that would be a big NO.

Now, friends fight sometimes so one silly or biggish fight doesn't have to necessarily screw the friendship depending on the situation.

Welp, I'm out!

Naw, I don't have any standards for people themselves, just for how they interact with me. I don't fault people for not getting along with me though as I am very hard to get along with in the first place.

Well I'm talking specifically about people that care about appearance and impressions (basically Egomaniacs that's why I mentioned this word) it's ok to have standards on how they treat you but on appearance and little stuff that's shallow I can't be friends with someone shallow that thinks the world revolves around them

 I figured that was what you meant but why give up the chance for a little off-color humor?

I know you were joking I'm sorry for not laughing geee I'm just not feeling well and when it comes to this stuff I get serious and ALSO I did forgot to clarify that I meant "appearance" in my first post so I took advantage of my second to mention that and I want to make sure people understand what I'm saying, that's why... :)

In my opinion a joke doesn't have to be funny to still be a joke.

Understanding is the greatest force in the known universe. It's awesome that you attempt to make yourself understood, especially since you seem to know when you aren't very clear. COMMUNICATION RAWKS. :D
