Rainbow Rocks Toys Already?

I honestly can't imagine why they're still trying to make toy money off it, the original movie's toys were awful. It must've been the money the film itself made, otherwise no way in hell would they still be trying to profit off of it.

Anyway, here's a few of the toys, for those who have had the....fortune to have avoided seeing them so far:

Accuracy to the show that you're using as advertisement for the toys you're trying to sell would be in your best interests, Hasbro. It could be worse, but it's still too noticeable.

I think they had these toys out before the movie was even announced.

EDIT: Yeah, I was right. Here is an EQD article from January where they're speculating about if the toys are a hint to the next movie.

Well you see there are these things called little girls. I've heard some of them buy pony stuff.

Yes, however I'm doubtful tho that most little girls actually liked the original EQG toys. Because they were bad.

Is it just you and me on here who realises that MLP was created for girls?

Actually, it was meant to appeal to girls, boys, and people of all ages. Basically, a family show.

Actually the EQG dolls are the most profitable part of the MLP franchise!

They seemed to be a success from everything I've read about Hasbro's profitability.

"Sales of girls' products rose 21 percent. Sales of My Little Pony Equestria Girls dolls also resonated with customers."

and plus  we of course have this second line of them and another movie, the only conclusion I can draw is that little girls like them.

The dolls may take everything we know about aesthetics and the color wheel, and then take them out back and beat them to death, but Hasbro seems to understand what little girls want, and inexplicably it's these dolls.

Well, my hope that the doll sales would be so terrible that they'd avoid a spending money on a sequel was crushed the moment I learned of EQG 2's reveal so whatevs. Still, I'm saddened that so many little girls apparently have terrible taste in dolls, and a such a low care for show-accuracy.
