The Cutie Mark Problem...Tattoos?!

In Equestria, the ponies have their cutie marks on their flanks, and in Equestria Girls (I don't call it 'human world' humans aren't purple) the ponies have their cutie marks somewhere on their clothes, correct? Well, the ponies have their marks on their skin, or fur, whatever, so would that mean that the EGs would have it somewhere on their body, on their skin, as a TATTOO?! What about the fillies and colts? Do they have tattoos too? I'm so confused! Do you think my theory is true?

I'm fairly certain that it works the same way it does in FIM, where you receive it upon acquiring you talent.

I'm also fairly certain said mark is hidden somewhere on their bodies... ;o

Their cutie marks are on their clothes. While logic is kinda pointless since hey...succubuses n shit, id say its very likely the human versions dont have a tatto of their cutie mark.

It's kind of weird in the movies. They all have their own little symbol that appears on their clothes, backpacks, ect.

So how did they get this "symbol"? Was it already on their clothes when they bought them, or did they sew them on?

Seeing as you can take the clothes off the dolls, and as far as i know none of the dolls have cutie marks on them anywhere, i think the most logical assumption is that they don't have cutie marks. They're also all in high school, indicating that eg world doesn't have the same destiny-heavy system of pursuing your special talent after a bit of primary schooling, so that's another marks against the marks, so to speak :P

I think they all just wearing symbols they like, or if you want to get all fan-theory about it, maybe they have a subconscious link to their pony-selves and thus are drawn to symbols of their pony-selves cutie marks ;)

I vote for subconscious link, but having someone chasing down people with a tattoo gun works too. o_O

Also, color doesn't mean not human. Bluffington wasn't populated by aliens.

I actually don't think in Equestria Girls, the humans have tattoos on their body, but strictly on their clothes.

Even if they did have tattoos, we wouldn't know, we barely see any of their body as it is. xD

Ponies can wear clothes, but they usually don't, so clothes and fur (or whatever MLP Ponies have) are the closest as far as a consistently visible cutie mark medium goes. So why is the cutie mark important? It is a visual representation of a Pony's talents and passions, that which makes him or her unique.

Let's take this out of both the MLP and EQG universes for a second. I have said this elsewhere, but in a way, humans have cutie marks, What you wear, how you present yourself, these are outward representations of who you are. Passions, interests, and talents are represented outwardly whether you intend it or not, and to an extent it is possible o learn a little bit about a person through this. Just as you don't walk around with a sign detailing your skills and interests, cutie marks are abstractions and representations. Because clothes and accessories are not as common in Equestria as they are here, they are tattooed magically (tattoos can also represent significant things in real life). In the EQG universe, the cutie marks on clothes are there for two reasons. The first reason is that it is a simplification of the many details that form a human cutie mark into something that is both clearer and simpler (meaning easier to animate). The second reason is that it creates a connection to their Pony versions, the EQG  and MLP versions are the same individual, meaning they would select the same clothes and tattoos and have an affinity for the same symbols, which means they would share the same cutie mark.

Its on their clothes, no need for tattoos!

Every human counter-part from the Equestria Girls universe has a cutie-mark for all their clothes. Think about it.

From backpacks, to dresses, I think this is something to think about.

The dolls have their cutie marks on their right cheek on their face, much more in line with the permanent marks the ponies get. That's what I go with when logic is necessary.

So yeah, their cutie marks are supposed to be easily visible on their faces. Not sure why the movie designs didn't do this.

Its a stamp, it gets stamped on you and you have to go back every year for a renewal

its how they know when you need your yearly injections, anyone with a blankflank gets asked to show their last injection date

you dont want the ponies to get the flu do you?

In all honesty I just figured that was a sort of symbol they were drawn to, like they wanted that cutie mark symbol on their clothing because they just liked the look of it. However Twilight comes through and has it on her clothing so you'd assume that it magically appears. That didn't make sense to me, there is no way that they have magical images pop up on their clothing yet continue to wear them without being even a little phazed by it. So I just look at it with a grain of salt and say Twilight must have a magic one the rest just like the pretty colors of their mark, since Twilight has the spark of magic that sort of makes sense...

There are blue people in the Appalacians (they have Methemoglobinemia). There is also blue and purple skin in people with Cyanosis

There are people with jaundice (yellow and orange skin) and there is also green skin (Hypochromic anemia)...

Now mind you, I hope no one here has this problem...but this does explain why there are no doctors in EQ

I don't think it would be on their bodys. I believe that in EG world your cutie mark apears on your clothing, like when twilight came through the portal she automatically had her cutie mark on the clothes that were automatically on her.

I like the subconscious explanation even though it sounds kind of magic-y and the EG world isn't supposed to have magic of its own (right?).  I hope they didn't all have to get tattooed because I know I wouldn't like to have a bunch of needles stuck into my rump!
