About Me
Updated: May 07, 2013
I originally found out about Friendship is Magic’s popularity during my time as a frequenter of the World of Tanks forum board at around November 2011. I was rather neutral but slightly intrigued when I first began noticing colourful equines scattered about in people’s avatars and the like. As time marched on I gradually became more interested and looking into what all this fuss is about. This led me to YouTube naturally, where I watched my first pony-related video. After that, I began scowering YouTube and watching clips from the show (Kyrospawn’s). It was in mid-December 2011 when I officially gave in and watched the first few episodes of the series – after doing so I went onto my World of Tanks forum profile and plastered ponies all over it. (It was around this time where I was first acquainted with Skygunner) After getting rather bored with the World of Tanks community and the very limited MLP thread in the Off-Topic section, I stumbled upon MLP Forums in early February 2012.
Upon joining these forums I was ecstatic; lurking about, posting and getting to know who members were, who the veterans were, who the staff was, all by observation. It wasn’t for a month or so later when I decided to venture into the chat-room to see if I could make a friend or two. It is within the depths of the chat-room in which I made most of the friends I still retain today. However I did not speak much within the chat-room as most of my time in the chat-room was spent in private-conversations. Much of the conversation that went on in the main room was very much too random and incoherent to retain my interest for very long, it was headache-inducing to be honest. Soon, I migrated to frequenting my Skype account and utilizing it for instant-messaging.
Then the chat died. Everyone rejoiced.
After the fallout of the chat-room’s destruction blew over, things were back to normal for the time being. Spending most of my time shooting the breeze with my friends via Skype and occasionally posting in and around the Everfree Forest, things were alright. This was the point in which the frequency of my posts ground to a near standstill.
Then June 25th rolled around, marking the day I began hating Zoop for eternity.
Yes, June 25th, I along with many others were bestowed the “glorious” title of “Sectional Moderator”. I was assigned to Beyond Equestria as I was most active there after all. The first few days were quite rough as there was much resistance opposed to the hiring of new staff, it was rather demoralizing to say the very least. It was a couple months later, after enduring those trials I was “promoted” to a “Global Moderator”, with September or so being the month I ascended to deityhood as a Community Administrator alongside the cretin Zoop.
My whole life has involved around interest in military equipment and history. Even from an early age, I was taught valuable morals and lessons by my father concerning true neutrality in all things relating to the study of military history. The brightest and earliest example remains to be the time in which my father told me “There are no good guys or bad guys in war, only different perspectives.” I was around the age of 6 at the time of that quote. As the years went by, my knowledge steadily grew from casual research from pure interest. There wasn’t a class in school that “forced” me into a history textbook. Nowadays, when it comes to military history, my father himself admits I’ve surpassed him in the study, and enjoys it when I rant to him about the subject. It was actually only of a few years ago when I began concentrating my studies on the history of the Wehrmacht, and during such, I’ve gained a very rudimentary understanding of how the German language works. I have a longing dream to be able to one day fully grasp the language fluently. I’ve also somehow become rather specialized when it comes to the knowledge of armoured warfare, which is odd because many years ago my main interest was aviation and I barely concerned myself with those tracked monstrosities.
In conclusion; I’m something of an amateur military historian of the 20th century.
Along with history, I’ve also spent years playing soccer, swimming, watching films, playing video games and all that generic stuff you usually read on someone’s “Interests” page of their profile. As for me, I’m not a hugely outgoing person, despite all of these damned words. In groups and among large amounts of unknown faces I’m known to rarely say anything. A motto I like to follow when in groups is to only “speak when I have something to say, not because I have to say something.” I’m rather shy to be honest.

Some of you may have noticed a recurring character on my avatar and profile – that would be my OC/ponysona Decisive Act. As I don’t RP (yet – Key Gear is working on it) he lacks a real backstory and biography page. However I do have many traits in mind as he is largely based off of myself – having a strong interest in all things history and military, I muse the idea of him being a strategist or tactician of sorts for Canterlot’s military.
If you feel so inclined to bring him to life with your artistic flair, here is his reference sheet and cutie mark.
As mentioned in my “origin” story, I prefer to stick to private conversations on Skype. Skype is my home. My account name is “peopleman8”, but be warned; I will not accept the contact request if I have no clue who you are. You can also find me on Twitter, and Tumblr! Lurking these accounts is a great way to get to know me. Don’t be shy to contact me via these platforms if you feel so inclined – I really don’t bite.
Hmm, that appears to be all I can think of to rant about for the time being. Once I conjure up more nonsense to talk about I will promptly (or not so promptly) add it here!
Thank you, and congratulations if you read the entire page. It’s much appreciated.
