I am connected to several older bronies through twitter and facebook groups. There are a few older than me out there, but just a few. Yep, I am new to the forums in this format... but if you look me up , I did post several times last year around EFNW time. How did you find MLP Forums?: Through Everfree NW How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: browbeaten by my son into watching... 3 episodes I was hooked! I'm 48, a full time single dad to two teenage boys, and a quarter century veteran of stagehand work at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Generally quiet and shy, apart from the fandom I don't socialize much. I'm a writer and artist. Construction/dock worker type professionally. I am also probably the biggest most upfront-about-it brony you will ever meet. My Subaru wagon has vinyl Pony stickers all across the back windows (main 6, Pon3, Luna, Derpy, Spike, Mac, Octavia...) and a "brony" sticker, too. I have worn a pony shirt every day for... had to look it up just now... 780 days as of today! I have quite a collection as well as socks and belts and hats.... but a shirt every day. ...aaaannnnd I have a Luna tattoo on my left deltoid. Did I say obsessed? Lets not even get started on my house and room decor, okay? I run a meetup group in southern oregon with about 130 members. This was really important to me because most of the bronies I meet are very shy, and aren't connected very well to other pony fans. I do my best to facilitate those connections. It's a calling. I was raised by a very abusive stepfather in an environment of fear and hate. I was groomed to be racist, sexist, homophobic, and to hate differences real or imagined in everyone around me. These philosophies (?!) never took with me. I became kind and nurturing, accepting and protective instead. He truly hated me. I consider that a badge of honor and pride. I love who I am, now. Who I have become. In my house I am both mom and dad, but lean toward the maternal. My boys are loving and kind as well, and champions for social justice. I am proud of them. My oldest, who got me into MLP has since left the fandom because he got tired of the in-fighting, which makes me a little sad, but he still enjoys ponies with me sometime and appreciates me for who I am. Trying to cut a long story short before I ramble on even more... It's ponies. Ponies EVERYWHERE! I can't imagine why I'm single. Happily single, and happily me. and just to be obnoxious... Applebloom is best pony!
