  1. It's a Rarity episode, so I knew going in that it was going to be good. But, this episode kind of falls flat when compared to all of the other great Rarity episodes. I'm not saying that it was terrible. The moral was good and the song was great, but I felt that the story culd have been better. I also didn't much care for Sassie. This is a real shame considering all of the other great characters we've had this season so far. This is the one character that I didn't like very much. I feel like the Goth Pony that appeared in this episode (yes, she does sound like Raven from Teen Titans, but she is in fact voiced by Andrea Libman, doing a near perfect impression of her) is the one who will get the most attention. Sassie, to me, was a wasted character. I really feel like the writers could have done more with her. The song also seemed rather odd. There was only one verse before the chorus came in, but, God, is it catchy. I'm going to be humming this song for the next week. Damn you, ingram! Why is that Applejack and Rarity always get the best songs of the season/series? Next week features Rarity defending Rainbow Dash when the latter is accused of something that she didn't do. Looking forward to it, but why am I getting flashbacks of Turnabout Storm all of a sudden?
  2. I strongly disagree. Spike is nothing like Scrappy-Doo. Scrappy-Doo was merely a character created to boost ratings. Too bad it backfired. Spike at least has a personality and character development; Scrappy has none of that. I cannot believe that someone would even compare the two. Scrappy is hated so much that there is a trope for this: The Scrappy.
  3. happy birthday =)=)=)=)=)=)!

  4. I loved today's episode. One of the best of season five. Though, did everybody suddenly forget that Nightmare Moon was threatening to cast all of Equestria into eternal night on the day of Moon Dancer's party? This is one moment where I would have been fine with the "Easily Forgiven" trope. I loved all of the new characters and Moon Dancer's design reminded me of that one Obama poster than it did of the American flag. Now I see why this was aired today. It was great seeing filly Twilight again (adorable as always) and Spike was adorable wearing a bib.
  5. I hated this episode. It's a Spike episode, so I knew going in it wouldn't be any good. This episode just felt contrived, from Spike getting interrupted at the beginning to everypony going to Twilight for help. Did they forget that there are three other princesses that could have helped them? With this episode, it's clear to me that the writers see Spike as nothing more than a character who can't do anything right and is simply there to screw everything up. What irritates me further is that once again Spike is portrayed as being an idiot. Don't want a bird's singing to disturb your sleeping friend? Close the window. Don't want anypony disturbing your friend while she's trying to get some rest? Lock the door. Also, don't let anypony disrespect or talk down to you. Stand up to them and they'll back off.
  6. For me, it was "The Cutie Map", mainly because it suffers from the same problem that "Magical Mystery Cure" had. That is, it made how cutie mark work all the more confusing. Okay, so let me see if I got this right. Your cutie mark determines your special talent, not your special talent determines your cutie mark. Not only that, but all of the Mane Six are all portrayed as morons. Not one of them even make an attempt to take the Staff of Sameness, despite being told beforehand what it's capable of. And then when they're captured, they send Fluttershy, of all ponies, to serve as a double agent. Did they suddenly forget that this pony is a pansy who's afraid of her own shadow?! Terrible episode!
  7. Was that Button Mash I saw with Vinyl Scratch in that promo? Does this mean that he'll play a role? And what are the Mane Six doing fighting a monster in the middle of town? Shouldn't they take the fight somewhere safe and secluded?
  8. The only flaws with this episode were the guide abandoning Rainbow Dash, and the resolution. I found it hard to believe that every griffon was greedy. And the resolution felt rather rushed. Gilda could have easily gotten the idol and saved Pinkie and Rainbow at the same time. But, maybe Gilda will show up as an ally during the finale. At the very least she got some character development, which she desperately needed.
  9. In the safety and privacy of my bedroom. If I'm somewhere that doesn't get Discovery Family, I prefer YouTube, especially if I miss the new episode.
  10. No way! Oh, my gosh! I want 'em! And sorry that happened to you. People should really learn to mind their own business.
  11. I think DT's bitchiness doesn't stem from being spoiled. Given that we've only seen her father (and her mother may or may not be the pink nurse seen in "Read It and Weep") it's possible that her mother is dead. With Silver Spoon, I don't know.
  12. I would actually like to see how they handle themselves in a battle with a ferocious monster with their new Rainbow Power. We've been barely seen what ti can do. The short bit we did get to see in 'Twilight's Kingdom" was, if for anything, due to time purposes. Also, you make it sound like Twilight is the only one who's capable of doing anything, while the other five are incompetent morons who need Twilight to save them, which just isn't true. All of them have shown time and time again that they're able to handle themselves if they get in a pinch. Now for my thoughts. I'm looking forward to episodes 9 and 11, not so much 10 since I'm pretty sure it'll be a predictable, by-the-numbers scenario of someone going mad with power.
  13. Well, I guess that's where you and I differ. I thought this season was going great so far until this episode aired.
