  1. I've seen many covers of MLP songs on youtube where the youtuber doesn't seem to be playing the instrumental part themselves. Then there's also the My Little Kareoke game that seems to have all the songs' instrumental versions. I was wondering if there was a place or something where I could find the instrumental versions of songs to download for when I decide to do covers of the songs myself, or if at least for listening to them on my own time.
  2. Since I don't have anything to add to what everyone has said, I did want to point out something that concerned me a bit. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of things in each person's life that makes them who they are. Sexual orientation is just one of those things. If you still haven't figured out your orientation, don't let that fact make you lose your sense of identity. Unlike what society will have you think, you have many years to fall in love and make a final decision. Your sense of identity, however, is something that needs daily care. As for me, I think I am a heteroromantic asexual or a demiheterosexual, but I'm not sure.
  3. Kicked out of own room while family stays over. Won't be active much.

  4. Although interesting, it seems a lot of people are missing the point about what intelligence is, at least when it refers to IQ. Your IQ doesn't show how smart you are. It shows how fast you can learn. You can have an IQ of over 125, and if you don't put any effort, someone with an IQ of 85 can easily best you in any subject. That also means that no matter how hard the subject, if a human being can learn it and you are human, you can learn it too. It may take longer or it may require you to look at things from a different point of view, but you can learn whatever you put your mind to. Me? I do learn fast and I barely study, so I assume that I have a high IQ, but after passing high school with good grades and realizing that there's so much more out there than intelligence, I decided to take things easier, and by that I mean I'm so lazy that I sometimes fall behind on things and have to kick myself for it. Also, for those of you who took an IQ test somewhere, do remember these three things: 1-Your IQ doesn't define who you are. 2-Your IQ doesn't define what you can or can't do. 3-Your IQ is scientifically measured in multiples of 5, so if the IQ number you were given ended in something other than 0 or 5, I wouldn't trust that score.
  5. From what I've seen, it seems that MLP believes in the concept of destiny which is why every pony gets a cutie mark to reflect their talents and personalities. I think that's even more apparent in the episode Magical Mystery Cure where they all started doing something they weren't good at just because their cutie marks said so. So, I don't think it's possible for a pony to never get their cutie mark. It's their destiny to get one. It wouldn't surprise me to see an episode revolving around the idea of an adult that never got his/hers, but ends up getting at it the end though. As for the CMCs, I just think they have to get their cutie marks at some point. It'll either be in some huge episode/movie/event, or it might actually mark the end of the series in the future, but I think they will get them at some point.
  6. I'm trying to get a new picture for my OC. His name is Harmony. I like this picture that I got from Pony Creator, but there are a few things that I just couldn't get right. I wanted him to have a messy mane, and this color is supposed to start in the middle of his mane over his head, similar to the picture; however, in the picture I posted, the color seems to be intertwining with the the rest of his mane behind his head, which is not the way it's supposed to be. That color is supposed to be at the top/center of the mane behind his head and over his back. It's also supposed to continue that patter on his tail all the way to the tip of the fail. In case my explanation was too confusing, here's more or less what I mean. Also, here's a close up of his cutie mark: So yeah, that detail in his mane really bothers me, so I'd be grateful if someone can make a picture of my OC with that fixed. ^^ This part is totally optional, but, if it's not too much trouble, I would like to see a picture of him with his horn giving out a spark, not like he's casting a spell, more like a spark as if his horn had just blown a fuse. Harmony would be looking up at his horn, not scared, but rather with a curious "what's going on up there?" expression on his face. That last part is completely optional as my main concern is getting his colors right.
  7. Okay, I had decided to post everything I knew about my OC to see if you could help, but, when the time came to post what "little" I knew about his past, I stepped back and realized, wow, I actually do know a lot about him. I almost have his full backstory. All I'm missing are a few details here and there. I guess I was just doubting my writing skills which is something I'm told I do a lot.... Surprisingly enough, however, even though his backstory in Equestria is very different than my story in real life, I still feel that bond with him as my ponysona. Still, I do know that as I role play as him and he goes on to have different life experiences that me, our personalities will eventually take different paths. I actually think that, even if it's a little, they already have. I did read about how you came up with your OC. It was interesting, but I noticed a pattern that completely goes against my style (it's not a bad thing. Just something I noticed). You mentioned that you are more of an artist than you are writer, and as such, you shaped and sculpted your OC to what you wanted or needed her to be. On the other hand, I'm more of a writer than I am an artist, and as such, I want my characters to tell me who they are. Had I stayed true to that from the start, I would have probably finished his profile already. I don't think it was your intention, but you did help me figure this out, so thank you for you support. Once I finish his backstory, would you check out his profile and tell me what you think?
  8. Why can't I ever land on the spot with these charts? XD I'm right between Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash.
  9. Well, actually, I already have everything about my character except his backstory. I have his cutie mark, personality, likes/dislikes, appearance, I even know what his family was like and what spells he uses. None of it force on him. I guess what I should be asking is what makes a good backstory and what should I include. I do like your advise about role playing him in my head. I mean, usually when I make a character, I role play them first until they choose to tell me their backstory. Yeah, when I write, I like to feel that I'm writing what my characters have chosen to do rather than writing what I want them to do. You know, that whole concept about characters having a life of their own.
  10. I'm not sure how to feel about that. I'd have to see the art direction first. I mean, I'd hate for the series to become sexualized like so many anime, and also, just because a Japanese artist is doing the drawing doesn't immediately make it good. Not all japanese animations look good, although I'll admit it's rare to find one that doesn't. My main problem is that, to me, MLP is already an anime in a way. If you were to change the art style, and perhaps a few of the "cutesy" words, the show would be in par with any anime in my opinion. It might already be there as it is actually.
  11. Sorry for reviving a somewhat old topic, but I didn't think I should make a new thread when one already exists. Hope that's okay. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to approach writing a backstory for a character. Normally, when I make a character, as I role play them, I get to know them better, and as their new story develops forward, their backstory also develops backwards in my head as well. I like this method because it feels like the characters take on a life on their own and choose to share their story with me; however, I want to role play as my OC in the Equestrian Empire and this requires a full profile first, including the backstory. I don't like the idea of making up a story and forcing it onto a character, but it seems like I have a choice in this case. So, how should I approach writing a backstory for an pony OC? I'm not giving much details on my character 'cause I want to avoid being told what the backstory should be. I would just like tips on how to approach it. I guess I should say where part of my problem comes from. As you can guess, his name is Harmony and he's the pony in my avatar. Harmony is meant to represent me, but I have my own backstory that has nothing to do with MLP. I could give him a similar backstory to mine, except in the Equestrian world, but something about that idea bothers me. I sometimes wish I wasn't so complicated. ^^;
  12. I personally don't know. I really like how the shows is fun and how it reinforces so many messages I believe in, but I can't think of any moment where MLP has actually changed my life in any way. On the other hand, even though I've technically have been brony for years, I've barely been a week in this forum and this is my first experience in the brony community. I have to say so far so good, but I hasn't become a big part of my life yet. I am keeping my hopes up for this though. Hopefully I'll say a firm yes in the future.
  13. Music being played faster/louder than intended - A lot of people I know like to take anyone and crank up the volume and play as fast as possible. You can see in their expressions how much they love it, but, I like to be able to tell what the lyrics of a song actually say when I listen to music. I also prefer to still be able to hear afterwards. Oh, and Summer. I can't stand the heat, and after a couple of days of "freedom" I get anxious 'cause I need something to keep me busy.
  14. This isn't to make fun of your drawing or anything, but the picture did make me realize that I watch too many cartoons. I was thinking for a moment, "Hey, how can she stay in the air if her wings are pointing down?" and then it hit me, "Oh, right, it's a still image..." ^^;
