  2. Hey there, I see that you only post in the Life Advise forum, are you, or do you wanna become a therapist or something like that? I'am just curious

Really, it's more that I have been a patient for some ten years and I managed to pick up plenty of helpful techniques, which I gladly share with anyone who may find some use in them. Not all of them have been helpful to me personally, but I'm still convinced they're trustworthy pieces off advice and it makes me happy if I can get some use out of them while also helping people. The more so whenever I struggle with my own personal issues.

At the same time, I haven't found a way to really connect to other people over ponies which is meaningful to me. I don't think many people want to talk about the same things in the same way that I do. So I'm generally not trying to reach out to other people much in that regard.

I can understand that, I lost my interets in MLP a few months ago, so it's not the topic I talk about with others.

It's really nice of you that you try to help others, I also wanna gain more experience so that I can help others, and myself.

  3. I don't think I can say this without sounding harsh, but there's already an error in the title. Correctly, it would have to be "How to Kill AN Alicorn". I would think that alone is very offputting to a lot of potential readers.
  4. Somewhere out there, there is always someone who knows better than you... Whenever you make a mistake on the internet somebody will correct you... The answer to most questions can be solved by simply typing the right thing into google... Do you ever feel like your being beaten by swarm intelligence? That your puny mind can't go up against the collective intellect of millions? Does it get you down? Or do you happily join the swarm with your little bit of expertise?
  5. The only song I can think of off the top of my head that always makes me tear up is this one: So true. At least he lived long enough to provide the world with countless great songs, with the Beatles and with his solo career. "Imagine", with its simplicity and childlike innocence, I consider to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest pop song ever recorded.
  6. It's a question of economics. Steven Universe and the Legend of Korra, didn't have a large toy company funding them for the primary purpose of selling toys. And unless gay adoption rights drastically change over the next years, the gain in pony sales by supporting the LGBT community can't remotely cover the losses Hasbro would get from conservative parents boycotting their products. So that is why we haven't had any openly gay ponies thus far and probably never will.
  7. This doesn't sound like a rant as much as it just sounds like a problem you could use help with. Have you tried Nonviolent Communication? It's something I always resort to when dealing with difficult conflicts and it usually takes the heat out of them. I may be able to explain it in more detail if you're interested, but the crash course would be this: 1. Only state facts as facts. If you want to state an opinion, clearly mark it as one. This may sound easier than it is, because pragmatically, we usually speak our opinions. For instance "You're always late!" is clearly not a fact, since 'always' is an absolute term and there is nobody who is literally always late. "We missed our bus, because you weren't at the bus stop at 9:30" however would be a fact because it can be supported by evidence that can not be refuted. 2. Make a clear distinction between yourself and the person you're talking to. State what you feel at what he or she does. For instance, "I feel like that my time is not taken seriously when you don't show up on time." 3. Formulate what you want into a specific change you want to see in the behavior of the person you're talking to. This of course should be something that person can actually fulfill. For instance, in my example case it could be: "I want you to call me in advance if you're going to be late."
  8. I'm a bit late to the party, but there is one unresolved issue I still have with the episode: At first, it's said that Twilight has been avoiding to stay/sleep in her castle for the past couple of days. But as soon as the ReManing 5 decide to decorate her castle, she can't wait to get home from her spa trip with Spike. So am I to believe that all along Twilight had been avoiding the castle as part of a secret scheme to trick her friends into giving her a free home makeover?
  9. Wow! So many Pinkie Pies. Thank you guys for the very warm welcome.
  10. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Pinkie Pie How did you find MLP Forums?: Through recommendation. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: After I found more and more pictures of ponies floating around the internet, it took me a while to figure out that it wasn't another strange, sarcastic meme, but a sincerely beloved cartoon, enjoyed by millions(?) of grown men and women. When I did find out, I knew I had to watch and I knew I would love it. I'd like to believe that there is more to me than can be summarized in just three sentences. Especially since I've already wasted the first one... and the second. So I guess, the only way to really get to know me, is talking to me.
