  1. A space whale :o . But you’re gonna need more than just a helmet over your head to help :P .

  2. I think that what has made this show so great is the fact that it has grown on its own with the freedom to be what it is, and not be tied to a single demographic. So while I do enjoy the fandom nods and slight acknowledgements, they haven't changed the show one bit for our sake other than that. Looking at it in terms of the fandom nods just devalues the product as a whole. I liked the movie because it had an interesting plot, a good moral (and the best lessons often need to be taught over and over again), and because the characters were interesting and engaging. Looking at it for any other reason is just a waste.
  3. Despondent, and without the ability to do her glasswork, Light Eye sighed and began absent-mindedly sketching out stained glass designs on a piece of paper. To most people it would be just another couple of days without using her special talent, but to her it was just another day without being able to express herself in the the best possible way. About halfway through, she just slumped, not sleeping but head on the table, groaning quietly.
  4. @@Ampharos, @, Light Eye, while slightly downcast, nodded her head. "Yes, of course." She walked to a desk near the middle of the class. It was interesting that he had window making as his special talent as well, that was certainly the first time it had happened to her. It would be nice to have somebody who could show her any advanced skills she had not learned yet, or maybe critique her creation abilities. Without realizing it, she had sat next to Whirl Wake. "Oh, hello Whirl!" she said, turning to him. "How are you doing Enjoying the first day of classes?"
  5. @@Ampharos, Light Eye looked at him, almost pleadingly. "Please sir, you have to understand. This is my passion. I can make you perfect windows, exquisite mirrors, create fantastic and glorious works of art, but I can't do that unless I'm allowed to do my glass work." She angled to show him her cutie mark. "As you can see, this is the special something that I'm good at, but I haven't been able to do it in quite a while. It's hard to get materials, location, and time to create mirrors, but mine are the best you will ever see in all of Equestria."
  6. @, Light Eye sighed, but still pulled up a mostly sincere smile for Steeleye. "Of course. You're right, I'm sorry, I'm just... distracted." Once they entered the Art room, her eyes were glancing, looking all over. She knew it was wasn't the most polite thing to do, but she strayed off and began circling the class room, searching." @@Ampharos, "Excuse me!" she aimed a question at the stallion who she rather safely assumed was the teacher here. "Do you have a mirror and window press? Do you have staining for window? Frame-building stations?" She asked a lot of questions as she looked around the, almost frantically searching. It was very big and there was a lot in it, but these items were not on your list of "classic art room materials", so she could only desperately hope that they had them.
  7. @, Light Eye blushed as she realized she was going the wrong way. "Um... right. Yes, I shall try and hold my tongue, but I can't promise not to defend you if it becomes too antagonistic. After all, it is clear that I am the stronger of the two of us and should, say, a necromantic book of sorts attack, I would clearly be the one to save us." "As for the picture, I appreciate the offer, but art class is the only place I can operate my special skill. It's there that I will be working on mirror and window-making, if they have the tools for it, and I can't spare a second. Maybe thinks will go the other way and I can capture your exquisite physique in a stained-glass window." Truth be told, her resentment towards the teacher was much more than just her picking on Steeleye. What was so special about that teacher, huh? She should was, pretty, talented, smart, kind... She had just made herself sad. It didn't matter though. Steeleye had said he was over her, and that meant that he was over her. There could be absolutely no possibility of leftover feelings, secrets kept, or passions reigniting... she had just made herself sad again. Thinking over this wasn't helping her one wit.
  8. @, ((It's after class now, so we can continue. Sorry about the delay.)) Light Eye thought about what he had said. "Well," she started, a bit hesitantly, thinking about it. "Yes, I can see how she would be upset. But that doesn't mean that she was justified in starting a personal crusade against you, or that it was right of her call you out in front of the class. Urgh. I'll just have to keep my head down in her class, lest I say something that I might regret." She as steamed about this and began walking to art class in the wrong direction.
  9. @ Light Eye trotted up to Steeleye once class was over. "Herr Steeleye, are you okay? You seem rather put off, and the teacher's conduct," she glanced around and made sure Lilac Melody wasn't paying attention, "was extraordinarily rude. I think it was rather unfair, and this time there's really no excuse. Even if you two have had bad blood in prior seasons that doesn't excuse her calling you out in front of the class, no matter what you did!"
  10. @@thor9356, "No, not so far. I don't suppose you could spare me a few hours rest before we begin our work? I am rather exhausted, though the food did help," Frayed said. "I have been walking long and without a proper bed for so long, real rest has been a commodity I could not afford."
  11. @@thor9356, Frayed was quiet. He felt somehow as though he was intruding. Not that this was new to him: in every city he had gone to it was a struggle to get to know people and figure out the customs, inner works, and the way that everything was. And, as a result he was quite used to being in awkward situations. So he simply sat quietly and patiently, giving Dogboots his moment. No need to be a dick: he was doing this to learn and he was learning all the time. This pony actually seemed fairly smart, if a bit crazed a times. There was definitely a lot of room to learn and a lot of room to grow. So he could wait for a few moments and give the man his time.
  12. Unsure of whether or not singing counted, since almost every pony could do so naturally, Light Eye didn't put her hoof up. She had wanted to learn the skill when she was younger, but her parents hadn't been able to fund her desire to do so, and after her cutie mark came in she was pretty much confirmed to never get the chance. She had shrugged it off, though. It was a skill she could do without and she hard worked hard to train her voice in the absence of an instrumental skill. She was actually looking forward to exercising it. She cringed at the verbal abuse of Steeleye. She cared little enough about his ability to sing: he was kind and smart and very interesting. And for a teacher to have such blatant disregard for one of her former students made her angry, the fact that it was her friend not helping improve her ire at all.
  13. @@Psych Ward, @@Ampharos, "Didn't give him enough time? He was done on the subject and..." Light Eye took a deep breath and stopped, trying to regain her composure. "You are allowed to have your opinion. I disagree. I hope that we can remain friends regardless. " She said this calm and businesslike, with a sincere twinge towards the end. She found a seat towards the front of the classroom, sensing that Steeleye was preferring to remain hidden for this classroom. "Would you like to sit next to me?" She offered Psych and Blaze.
  14. @@Ampharos, Light Eye look a little taken aback at this reaction from Blaze. "You're probably right," she conceded. "It was his first day and he was losing control of the class, I guess it makes sense he would be in a bit of a panic. I'm sorry for my comments. However, I will not apologize for bringing up the information! The draconequi have been a major influence in Equestrian history, for at least 1,000 years and very possibly many, many more! It's important to put them in their proper frame rather than to simply smooth over them in discussion. That would be like neglecting mention Night Mare Moon's transformation or not talking about the first exodus to Equestria."
  15. @, Unconsciously shivers ran down Light Eye's back. "I'm..." she tried to find words, but shook her head and changed topic. "I'm with you on the teacher, there. There was so much information just for the taking, but all he cared about was getting through the class! You can't just lightly touch on draconequi, they are a major subject, no matter how many of them there are. And the suggestion of 'I don't care what you say I'm right and I'm going to ignore everything else?' Doesn't he care about education at all." She shook her head, disgusted. "Music is next. I'd like to see your pipes in action indeed."
