こんにちは、皆さん!^-^ The Japanese word for the day is... *drum roll*

社交的(な)、(しゃこうてき)、Shakouteki (na)
sociable-test.jpg

I know, I know-- this picture is pretty darn corny. :P Finding a picture for this word was hard, though. Cut me some slack, lol xD

いみ(meaning ):Sociable, friendly (Noun, Na-adjective)

れいぶん(example sentence):私の先生はとても社交的人です。Watashi no sensei wa totemo shakouteki na hito desu.

ほんやく(translate): My teacher is a very sociable person.

Sorry for posting this so late, it's been a long day, but I got it up! This word is a little bit different, because it's both a noun and something called a Na-adjective. When modifying a noun with a Na-adjective -- like in the example sentence above -- な(na) is placed in between the noun and the adjective. When it's not modifying a noun, な is not used. For example: 彼は社交的です(kare wa shakouteki), "He is sociable." ^-^

Hey! This is a cool blog :) I may learn Japanese after I'm done with German... I know it depends on my will to learn the language and that stuff, but is it that hard to learn it?

Thank you, Bojo-さん ^^ In my experience, no -- Japanese isn't incredibly hard to learn. And I believe that Japanese isn't that hard of a language to learn in general. There is this stigma attached to it that repels people because they've been told how supposedly complicated it is. It's actually not; it's just different. It's very structured and logical. Once you learn the patterns of the language, it becomes a lot easier.  And that goes for any language. That isn't to say that it's easy either -- as you know, learning any language will have some level of difficultly and requires time and effort. But it's definitely not as hard as people think it is. ^-^

No, I'm afraid I don't. I didn't even know about it until now, haha. A Google or Youtube search will do wonders, though. ^-^

Shakouteki... maybe not the best word to describe myself with. Still, I try my best. ^-^ I've heard the Japanese are quite sociable to tourists despite the language barrier. :)

Yes -- very! The Japanese tend to be quite hospitable people. Making friends there, I hear, isn't that hard too. And it becomes even easier if you know the language. ^-^
