Manufacturer and Powerplant: Waste Management trucks come from Mack, Volvo, Freightliner and Autocar. Waste Management did enter into an agreement with Mercedes-Benz to test the Mercedes-Benz NGT for use in North America with mixed results. As a commitment to its pledge for a better environment, Waste Management no longer procures diesel powered Vehicles and has agreements with Cummins and other engine manufacturers to convert the remaining diesels in the fleet to run on Compressed Natural Gas.

Fare Collection: Waste Management maintains agreements and contracts with thousands of Cities, Municipalities and Private Companies for Trash Collection, Recycling and Waste Treatment services. Waste Management began providing services to private citizens as well with its new "Bagster" service. Customers can purchase a bag which can be filled with up to 3,000 pounds of waste and Waste Management will collect the bag for a $140 fee. The service has been extremely popular with private contractors who previously rented dumpsters which were expensive and required permits.

Livery: The iconic Green and Yellow trucks of Waste Management are one of the most recognizable symbols of American Suburbia. Waste Management's PR division is extremely creative and savvy. Giving the trucks a "Clean" appearance despite the dirty work they perform. The trucks have also been known to run advertisements for movies which feature heavy equipment or machinery. A Waste Management truck had a role in a recent Transformers movie as "Junkheap" a decepticon taking the form of a WM truck. Waste Management also sponsored a NASCAR in the distant past, inspiring UPS to follow suit.
