"Weeaboo" and "Hasdrone" are a lot in common.

"Weeaboo" is an insult people use to bash anime and manga fans, especially ones who behave rowdy. "Hasdrone" is an insult people use to bash bronies who still like the show post-season two or three. "Hasdrone" isn't so widely used anymore compared to the hiatus between seasons three and four, but "weeaboo" is still widely used online. Both of them are a byproduct of cyberbully culture and used by entitled, self-absorbed scumbags who feel it's a great idea to bully or troll others.

Well, newsflash: There's no factually good reason to be a bigot and use either slur under ANY circumstance. The second you use either of them, you don't look better than them. Instead, you become one-hundred-percent more pathetic than the people you shoot down.

They're not any different. The so-called "weeaboo" is as much an otaku as the otakus themselves. To believe there's a difference impales the fandom.

in japan otaku is the western equivalent of nerdy loser who lives on their parents basment

overseas otaku is a fan who likes anime/manga fan

weeaboo is obsessed with anything japanese and thinks anything else sucks

thinks anime is better than cartoons, manga>comics, japanese games>anything else

likes to use japanese words, desu, kawaii etc on sentences

this is just some of the reasons why people differentiate them

and ive been on both sides so i know what im talking about

I don't care if you have it from experience. The "weeaboos" are no less an anime fan/otaku than the rest of the anime fans. There is no reason for anyone to call an anime fan a "weeaboo" regardless of their attitude towards non-anime/non-Japanese culture. It's not okay to apply the very offensive insult at all. To treat it as okay to use is to create divisions and implicate that the "weeaboos" are lesser fans.

weeaboos thinks everything japanese is superior to everything western by default, not just anime.

any decent otaku wont call a fan a weeaboo unless they act this way

only trolls calls anyone who watches anime a weeaboo

unless hasdrones thinks and acts that MLP is the best show ever and everything else is trash. they dont really have anything in common with weeaboos

That still doesn't justify using "weeaboo" or "Hasdrone." To call an anime fan or Japanophile a "weeaboo" is to degrade them. To call a brony a "Hasdrone" is to degrade them. The differences you apply to both slurs are completely semantic.

they are just saying what the difference between the slurs are

The answer is there's none. Any "difference" explained is completely superficial.

yes they both are used to pointlessly degrade but ones saying they have too much interest in a type of animation and one says you have bad taste in a spicific show.

calling people by a derogatory term is bad

but i dont see the point in defending people who would star flame wars by posting something like this

http://img.memecdn.com/anime-vs-cartoon_o_1181827.jpg

you say mlp is good they say this anime is better and start an argument over it

the endless bashing of Avatar the last airbender(the nick toon series not the alien movie) and korra that they suck and theyre are a anime rip offs

some weeaboos can be pretentious dick to people who are less informed to japanese culture. And they're annoying to people that don't like anime,

they are stubborn and impossible to reason with

they give the fandom a bad image

at least the hasdrones are only called out for still liking the show and not for being a pretentious, twat

yes calling people calling people by a derogatory term is low

and its best if people just ignore weeabos and similar stuff

you can defend weeabos all you want buts its not worth it

Where did "weeaboo" come from?

It's a made-up word from a Perry Bible Fellowship comic. The joke in the comic was that the word was meaningless. Later on, 4chan mods in a futile effort to cut down on racial slurs, put it in their word filter to substitute for the actual slur 'Wapanese' (which is sourced as a cut-down 'Wanna-be Japanese'). This, unfortunately, did nothing but define 'Weeaboo' as meaning the same thing as 'Wapanese'.

Any elitist attitude presented by anime fans or Japanophiles don't deserve to be patted on the back. it should be called out.

But I said this many times already. That is still no excuse for anyone to bully them back by using the "weeaboo" slur. It doesn't make them better than the elitists. In fact, it makes them no better than them, if not worse.

if someone insults me or something i love i wont take it lightly

and thats pretty condescending thinking that people are worse if they rebuke someone
