About this blog

I'll mostly just be talking about anything that interests me. And when I say that, I mean what's going on in the gaming, comic, and TV/Movie community. Mostly video games, though :3

Tails Doll in a Sonic Comic

And here I thought Archie didn't have the guts to put it in. Most of the Sonic fanbase knows about the Tails Doll, but for those that don't know, I'll quickly fill you in. Tails Doll was originally one of the unlockable characters in the Sonic racing game, Sonic R (The soundtrack for that game is AWESOME, by the way. Though, the game itself isn't all that spectacular) Anyways, the Tails Doll has become quite a phenomenon in the gaming community as a whole. He's pretty much been transformed into

Why Silver the Hedgehog Needs to be in More Games.

Let's talk about Silver the Hedgehog. Silver is a white psychokinetic hedgehog from the distant future. He can pick up things and fly in the air by simply just thinking about it. Just Silver's concept alone makes him sound like an awesome character. Granted, I don't like the game he originally came from, but that shouldn't mean he doesn't make an appearance in more Sonic games (And don't bring up multiplayer. That doesn't count.) He does have a few flaws, though. In 06, Silver's gameplay was su

Should more Sonic Characters be Playable?

I've been a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog for as long as I can remember. There's just something about the Blue Blur's attitude and speed that appeals to me to my very core. But, I do like the other characters, too. Characters like Knuckles the Echidna, Miles "Tails" Prower, Shadow the Hedgehog, and even Silver the Hedgehog are all great characters that brought smiles to my face in the past. Though, have you noticed how rarely they're playable nowadays? (Don't bring up the Olympic Games. I'm talking

Lindsay Lohan Sues Rockstar Games

As many of you know, this is a blog mostly centered around what's currently happening in the gaming community or my opinions that nobody could really care to see. Though, today, I'm gonna talk about a matter that just seems really stupid to me. Everyone knows about the record-breaking success of Grand Theft Auto V. However, there was one mission in particular that led me to today's Geekasm. In a certain Strangers and Freaks mission for Franklin, you're suppose to took a snapshot of a red-headed

Nintendo and Third-Party Companies

There are three console manufacturers in the world; Microsoft, Sony, and my personal favorite, Nintendo. Though, I've noticed something; whenever a new game comes out, Microsoft and Sony always seem to get the better versions. All the while, Nintendo seems to get the short end of the stick every time. I find that very offensive. I mean, sure, Nintendo is meant to be for people of all ages and Microsoft and Sony are meant for the more mature gaming crowd. Still, that's no reason to downgrade Nin

Why Comics Tell Better Stories than Video Games or TV Shows

Two of my most favorite video game franchises ever are Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man. I love the games, the TV shows (Well, some of them at least) and I collect the action figures. I love a lot of video game franchises, but I honestly think you can't go wrong with these two. However, there's also the comic books based off of these two franchises. Both are made by Archie Comics and both share pretty much the same art style. I may love the games, but honestly, I don't think they even compare to

Tragedy Struck Where I Live...

Me and my best friend, Super2379, live in the same area code. Yesterday, over a dozen twisters swept through, demolishing everything in their paths. One thing it demolished was Super's two cousins. When me and him met up today, he was awestruck. When he told me what happened, I felt the same way. Right now, I'm hoping for my aunt to be alive. She lived close to where the twisters struck and I hope she's okay. Though, I can't really say the same for Super's cousins. Please, show your support to

Starting to Play Portal

I'm gonna be completely honest, guys; until this weekend... I've never played Portal. I know that sounds crazy coming from a guy that loves video games, but I've honestly just been avoiding it. That was until Steam struck again with it's deals. Both Portal and Portal 2 were going for 6.24 US dollars as a bundle. How could I refuse? So, I ended up buying it. Now, I'm going to look to see what all the fuss is about. That's nice, Wheatly.

Torn Between Systems

We all know what's coming out before the holiday season; The Xbox One and the Playstation 4. I've already concluded that I'm not getting the Xbone, but I'm torn between the Wii U and the Playstation 4. There are so many games I want for the Wii U, such as Sonic Lost World, Super Mario 3D World, and Pikmin 3. Though, I know that there are plenty of games that're going to come, such as inFAMOUS Second Son, The Order: 1884, and others. Jeez, so much to choose from...

Video Games: Then and Now

Today, I was having a conversation with my good friend, Shyflutters. We were talking about video games and he asked me about what console I was getting. I said the Wii U and I named off a couple of games I wanted for the system. One of them was Splinter Cell: Blacklist. He stopped me right there and he said that the game was a shame to the series. The Splinter Cell series is centered around stealth-based gameplay, where in this game, he said that if you're caught, you can pretty much just gun yo

First Impressions: Batman Arkham Origins (Warning: SPOILERS (duh))

Yesterday, I finally got my hands on Arkham Origins. This is a game I've had my sights set on for a long time now, since July, in fact. When I finally picked this game up at my local Wal-mart, my copy was in it's entirety, complete with the Deathstroke DLC and everything. When I popped this game in, I was taken right to the action. In the past two games, there was usually a cutscene at the beginning. There's a cutscene here, too, but it's extremely short. Once it's done, Batman goes to Arkham A

The Mighty No.9 Project

I guess I'm a little late on finding out about this thing. About a couple of months ago, Capcom announced one of their newest projects; Mighty No.9. This thing, I assume, is meant to help Mega Man fans find some shred of life in the Mega Man series. I mean, there hasn't been a real Mega Man game since Mega Man 9 and 10 on Xbox Live and such. I see some really big potential for this project, actually. I think it's about time for Capcom's Blue Bomber to make some form of return.

Sonic Boom: This Picture

I know this is just concept art, but when I saw this picture, my jaw almost hit the floor. As far as I'm concerned, Tails and Amy's models are okay. Although, the two models I'm concerned with are Sonic and Knuckles' models, especially Knuckles' model. Sonic seriously needs to take a comb to his quills. In fact, upon seeing the shadows, his model reminded me of Crash Bandicoot a little bit. Now, Knuckles. Knuckles is meant to be a powerhouse, I get that. But, this model doesn't sit well with me

MLP Gamer Pictures on Xbox Live

There are literally MLP FIM gamer tags on Xbox Live available for purchase. When I firs t found this out, I was a bit surprised. Someone over at the Microsoft Corporation is a brony? I didn't see that coming. I might get a pack of these, but I'm likely just going to stick with Sonic or Batman. (Thanks, Ditzy, f

Mobile Gamers

There are plenty of handheld systems like the 3DS and PS Vita, but there is another breed of handheld gaming; Apple products. I play games on Apple devices from time to time, but I mostly just stick to games like Mario, Sonic, GTA, and that sort of thing. But, I know people who call themselves gamer... but mobile games on Apple products are all they play. Personally, if all someone plays is games on Apple devices, I don't consider them a gamer. Though, I know a lot of people who think otherwise.

IGN Sonic Lost World Review: Proving my Point

In the past review IGN has given Sonic games, I have a personal theory that someone over there has a huge vendetta against the Blue Blur. I think their review on Sonic Lost World proves my point at least a little bit. Think I'm wrong? Do tell me why. I'll read it. Review: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/18/sonic-lost-world-review

What I noticed about the early 3D Sonic Games...

You know what I've noticed about the first five 3D Sonic games on consoles? It's that they seemed to have decreased in quality until Sonic Unleashed rolled around. Allow me to explain the quality change of Sonic Adventure - Sonic 06. I don't count Sonic Riders in the list. When Sonic Adventure burst onto the scene on the SEGA Dreamcast, most owners of the system set their sights on getting the game. When they got it, most people rather enjoyed the game, mostly for Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles' ga

The Wii U Deserves Better Respect

I already know what next-gen system I'm getting; the Wii U. Games like New Super Mario Bros. U, Scribblenauts Unlimited, and Sonic Lost World have all contributed into making that decision. But, the Wii U right now is getting really underscored by the gaming industry as a whole. At my local Walmart, the Wii U has it's own shelf. Inside the shelf, the light is turned off inside and the glass separating you from the games is totally stained. On top of that, normal Wii games take up half of the spa

Shadow the Hedgehog Run-Through Tonight...

Tonight, I'm going to be doing a Shadow the Hedgehog run-through, beginning to end. Every ending, every stage, every mission (possibly), just to be done with this forever. I'm making today's entry about this because I don't think I'll be able to get to make one tonight. I'll be so wrapped up in finally finishing this piece of shit, I won't be able to get to making a geekasm. So, I just decided "Screw it, I'll just make it about the misery I'm going to be put through tonight. Tonight, I destroy

Shadow the Hedgehog: If Each Ending was Canon...

For those that don't know about the game 'Shadow the Hedgehog,' I'll fill you in; Shadow the Hedgehog was a Sonic game released in 2005 for the Gamecube, Xbox, and PS2. Surprisingly, the game crashed and burned. Part of the fact came from it's ten alternate endings that you need to complete in order to unlock the final ending. Sometimes I like to think of each ending being in the official canon. However, I know that it could never be possible. Before I continue, here are all the endings in thei

Japan and Video Games

One question; what is up with Japan and the gaming market. I mean, seriously, almost every game or console we've ever played usually starts out in Japan and released first in Japan. Heck, there are even some games or systems that are only released IN JAPAN. I'm not complaining or anything. I like Japan. In fact, I wish to go there someday. It's just that I spend a lot of my time in the deepest trenches of my subconscious, asking myself questions that really don't have to be answered. Today, this

Diablo 3: Similar to Another Game I've Played

Last night, I finally looked at Diablo 3. I got the console version, so I played it with my brother. I'm sure that the PC version of the game is better, but whatever. We spent many hours last night fighting undead and protecting the village of New Tristram. However, this game felt similar to another game. It felt painfully similar to World of Warcraft. Now, not to say that World of Warcraft is bad. I actually played that game for a good while. Both games are made by Blizzard Entertainment. I lik

Sonic Lost World: The Badniks

I'm super hyped for Sonic Lost World. I've mentioned it on several topics on the forums in the past weeks. However, let me briefly touch upon one thing that bothers me a little bit about this title; the badniks. In this game, we're going back to the original formula for Eggman's robots; He captures little woodland creatures and stuffs them inside robots that he calls "badniks." These include the Motobug and the Buzz Bomber. As Sonic runs through whatever stage he's in, he can jump or homing att
