The Here and Now is Everything

(Warning: this will get confusing really fast)   Quantum physics is a branch of science that interests me. To summarize, it is the branch of science that goes into the greatest possible depth to explain the mysteries behind our universe. It probably doesn't make too much sense why I seem to be going off subject with this blog but something has crossed my mind that feels relevant in some small way.   If you have ten minutes to kill go ahead and watch part of this documentary.   https://www.

Humanism, Love it or Hate it

My latest struggle was very personal because it's regarding something that has defined my identity for a very long time. It is, of course, humanism. The definition of this word can be different depending on who you ask but the way I like to simplify it is believing all humans possess both good and evil inside of them, and to be the judge of other people you have to weigh their intentions as well as their actions.   Interestingly enough, I came across this world view on my own without even know

Why Does God Care About Homosexuality?

The title basically says it all. This post is considerably longer than my other blog entries, only because I find there is much to discuss about this topic. It's been on my mind for a while cuz it's a serious question and the argument on both sides of the debate have some very valid points.   The most obvious way to start this debate is by clearly saying "Yes" the Bible does denounce homosexuality. There were laws and decrees from the ancient times about such practice and there used to be puni

About God and Where He's From

Religion is something I'm going to be bringing up a lot on this blog, cuz if I'm talking about philosophy then there's no way I can't include it. Today I've been considering the nature of God and I've been trying to piece it together in my head. According to the Bible, God refers to himself as "I Am". If you want to take this literally, God basically has no logic or reasoning behind his existence. He is his own self-sustaining definition; a person who was never caused by anything or any event.

Bleek Bleek Bleek

Today has been a very unusual day. I guess I have no one to blame but myself but I came home from a long day of work and the first thing I did was search for literary agents and research The Matrix film series. Those two are not a good combination.   Destiny has always been important to me, because believing my life has an ultimate goal keeps me going. But, there has been very little in my life that suggests I have a destiny I was meant to fulfill. I want to make it as a fiction writer, but th

Failed Brony Meet Up

Many years ago I used to be a nervous and fearful person. A bowling alley that's practically down the road from my house actually took willpower to go and visit. Because I was borderline agoraphobic I made myself miserable being uninspired to get up and do things.   A lot of that changed since I became a Brony! Since joining this fandom I have somehow found the willpower to not only go to that bowling alley, but even drive my car for hours at a time to go and meet fellow Bronies. It's because

The Case for Faith

The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel has so far been one of the best and one of the worst books I have ever read. It is a Christian evangelical book about the toughest reasons why people choose to shun Christianity. It is a sequel, in a sense, to The Case for Christ by the same author.   I have read through many chapters already and just finished number six, which tackles the issue of, "God Wouldn't Send People to Hell". The biblical scholar being interviewed about this dilemma was clearly very
