What have I been up to?

If anyone cares to know, I have been away from many months to a few years... oops. But, I have been working on a lot of YouTube videos, specifically Let's Play's and reviews, so you can imagine how much video editing has taken up my time and energy. I feel bad that I haven't been in contact with you guys on the forums... I haven't even watched the show in a long time, that I have not even started season 6 yet, so you can imagine how far behind I am in the fandom. I have also been busy looking around my home city for a job in IT work, but nothing has come up, and I cannot afford to move outside my city, so I am having a lot of trouble with a bit of my personal life. So, that is what I have been up to. Hope you enjoyed that cliched story I told... LOL

I can edit videos for you, video editing is a hobby for me.

I can also do it for free.   I have experience in Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum, CyberLink PowerDirector 12, and VideoPad Editor.   I have made many PMV's, AMV's, parodies, and gaming videos.   Not much of a resume, but this is the best I can give you.   I do other things in life, but I just wanted to have a way to use my hobby. I currently run a gaming channel for myself without any profit involved.

Upgrading my PC... Why am I worried when I shouldn't be?

My 500 Watt power supply came in today, but not my graphics card yet! (It says it's still in Toronto, ON)   Just to let you know, my graphics card is going to be the ASUS GTX650-E-1GD5, hopefully this is enough to please me.   Even though I already bought the power supply, is 500 Watts enough to power both the motherboard and the card? (This card gets power from the motherboard, no slot for the power supply cable)   Old PSU = 300 W New PSU = 500 W GPU card power required = 75 W   I wanna make sure I did the right thing, this is my computer and no one else's, so this is my risk.

Anyone else watch DiC cartoons (Inspector Gadget, Mario, etc...) but me?

I think this should be a blog entry, cuz I might get hate from some people...   I am still a big fan of MLP FiM, and I always will be. But childhood will always hold a place in my heart!   But I really love the cartoons that were around from before my time, and I don't know if that is a good thing...   First DiC cartoon I saw was probably either Inspector Gadget or Sailor Moon (YES, it is not made by them, but is English dubbed) Before I had Internet, I also found out about the Mario Super Show from a rental VHS tape at Blockbuster. For some reason, I enjoyed it, despite the corny pasta jokes. (Captain Lou Albano, you will always be my Mario!) I also rented Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, I enjoyed that too, with all the slapstick comedy in it. Sonic Underground was one I did not rent, but saw on TV, it was good, but GOD those songs suck... X(   Unfortunately, I never saw Sonic SatAM, and I lost my chance at buying the now out-of-print DVD. Thankfully YouTube had some episodes, I liked it ALOT.   Archie's Weird Mysteries was another cool cartoon I saw on TV, I never saw much of the comics yet, but I kinda liked the theme behind the show.   When I got Internet, I discovered more cartoons I should have been watching, but was born too late! Captain N was one I was curious enough to watch, I liked it. Missed my chance at the DVD again... Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 was one I wanted to check out, liked one episode, got the DVD! Super Mario World, liked it, bought DVD. OK, maybe I am just a sucker for cartoons about video games...   I guess I heard the DHX Media has all the DiC cartoons now... Is this good?   TL;DR version   DiC cartoons I saw through normal means Inspector Gadget Sailor Moon (English) Super Mario Bros. Super Show Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Sonic Underground Archie's Weird Mysteries   DiC cartoons I saw on Youtube Captain N the Game Master Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario World Sonic SatAM Heathcliff The Littles And a load more!   SO... Does anyone have a favorite cartoon by DiC Ent.?

My first time watching Doctor Who! ...I love it. ...Brilliant.

I finished watching Series 1 and 2, and I am happy to know this exists, and also happy to finally watch it!   I love his (the Doctor) attitude, he always seems to know what to do no matter what the situation. I love the way he talks and acts towards others. One minute he is mad, the next he is as calm as ever. It's hilarious.   As for the companion(s), they are awesome. They get to travel with the Doctor and have some fun adventures through space and time. ...I am jealous.   The TARDIS on the other hand ...is as cool looking! I love the blue box look. This is what makes it different from other spaceships: it actually looks like something human-made!   The episodes are of quality and seem to follow everything accurately (according to my past classes in high school)!   Everything about this is awesome! Plus, good writing!   I really don't know what else to say, others could probably explain it better than I can!

Looks like my laptop might need servicing... I hope the cost won't be too high...

My first chkdsk didn't find anything, neither did Malwarebytes...   I am currently running a second chkdsk at the moment.   My laptop symptoms are: After a few minutes, my HDD light is solid, then when I try anything that involves accessing the HDD (opening Windows Explorer, opening My Computer, Defrag) it freezes to the point where I have to hard reset. I could still move the mouse, but that doesn't help me very much.   I also can't open task manager or anything else...     Since chkdsk couldn't find anything, I have a feeling this might be more than a problem that I can solve...   I also don't think fresh installing anything is going to solve anything anymore...   I really hope these guys I see can do something... (replace the hdd or whatever else they can do)   For now, I will either have to use my parent's Vista or my iPad for a while...

My laptop might be toast now... or not... who knows?

SeaTools looks like it failed a diagnostic test and froze on "outer scan"...   My bro is trying my laptop to see if anything happens with him...   Let's see how it turns out...   It might be time to replace a laptop hard drive, that has no bay to access it in. I might have to take to a computer repair technician now...   Hopefully if I have to, the cost of hdd installation and etc. doesn't add up to a lot.   Why do computers hate me? Why, oh why, oh why...

New hard drive... or new laptop?

My current laptop is working fine now, after a chkdsk (2 bad clusters) and a defrag overnight, but I really REALLY hope my laptop can last long enough through school.   If all comes to worse:   I wanna get a new laptop, but I am still cautious about stuff that works on Windows 8. I still wanna use stuff like Steam and iTunes, but I see mixed results from a Google search.   But on the other hand, I wanna be able to use Windows 7 Home Premium again on a new "bad cluster"-free hard drive. Though, I don't know if problems are going to occur again on the same laptop.   I do see Windows 7 computers for sale at FutureShop, but almost none of them have dedicated graphics...   UPDATE: For anybody who is tech-savvy, take a look at this:     Checking file system on C: The type of the file system is NTFS.   A disk check has been scheduled. Update on my laptop fix! It is fixed!

I finally got it to work!   BTW, I had to lose my secondary D: and recovery partition in the process, I had no other choice.   I wiped out the entire HDD, then did a whole fresh installation! I was praying to God that this whole process I went through would succeed!   The only downside (which I don't care much for) is that I have to get back all my iTunes and Steam stuff!   Thank you to Samsung for allowing me to make the DVD full of drivers which I needed for the sweet, sweet internets and graphics and sounds!

Well, it happened... My laptop is buggered...

I REALLY BIT THE BIG ONE!   NOTE: My laptop was discontinued apparently... NP300V5A-S05 i5 - 2450m GeForce GT 520MX 8GB RAM 1TB 5400rpm HDD   My laptop started to get the Black Screen of Death, it couldn't boot, so tried different solutions. Startup Repair Restore Point Memory Diagnostics Samsung Recovery Solution 5   Nothing worked.   Apparently, SRS5 made it even more worse; when I tried to do a complete restore, my laptop now has the "BOOTMGR is missing" prompt.   No matter what I do, I am trying to get this thing back up and running, so for now, I will use my mother's computer.   I am also trying to download an ISO file of Win 7 Home Premium (My machine uses that), so we will see how that turns out.   See ya for now!

Going to C4Con this year! (Winnipeg, Manitoba)

Are there any people from or near Winnipeg, MB, Canada? Because C4Con is coming again this year!   Fortunately, I will be going there and maybe getting more pins like I did last year! (BTW, I have a Rainbow Dash pin from last year!)   I will probably be wearing my three pins while I am there, so maybe if you see anybody with a ReBoot, 20% cooler, and Mario Starman pin, that might just be me! :)   See ya soon!
