Another MLP Movie idea that popped up during work

So today at work, I had another brainstorm of an idea involving an Alternative MLP Universe.  The style is similar to Friendship is Magic, as well as the voice cast.  But many of the origin stories are a bit different, not to mention some of the layouts.  Here's how it goes. In this alternative world, Princess Twilight Sparkle once had a student of her own named Majesty, a young filly unicorn who once had an optimistic future.  But one day, something went wrong and Majesty cut ties with her

2019: The final year of MLP:FiM?

We have entered 2019, having come off of Season 8 and the Best Gift Ever special.  And judging by what's going on with Hasbro, it looks as if Season 9 will be the final year of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic(Unless Hasbro pulls a fast one and announces ether a 10th season, or goes all out with some new specials or a Youtube series).   It's been a long ride for me and the series.  I've enjoyed the entire cartoon, some of the merch(Including the famous MLP SDCC 2012 Derpy Hooves Figure.)

A Live Action MLP Movie Idea of mine involving Princess Celestia

WIth the surprise reviews of the new Bumblebee Movie(Currently standing at 97% on Rotten Tomatoes), I actually thought about a Princess Celestia Live Action movie focused on the Princess of the Sun.  But unlike the source material, this is less saccharine and more serious.   The movie title will be called Celestia.  The characters are.... Princess Celestia(Ideal actor: Nicole Oliver) Princess Luna(Ideal Actor: Tabitha St Germain) Queen Chrysalis(Ideal Actor: Kathleen Bar

MLP Character idea: Starscream and Slipstream

In case there can't be any Transformers in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Universe, here are my ideas for two existing Decepticons   Starscream(Voice: ether Michael Dobson or Steve Blum) Slipstream(Voice: Tara Strong) Starscream and Slipstream are Hippogryphs, formerly from Mt. Aris and Seaquestria.  Once they served Queen Novo.  But when the Storm King invaded and sent the Hippogryphs to Seaquestria, Starscream and Slipstream saw a glimmer of high power within the S

The MLP Movie would have flopped regardless of reception.

THis is something that's been going on in my head recently with the My Little Pony movie.  And this is gonna be harsh, but I feel like I have to say this. This movie wouldn't have done well regardless of reception. Even if this movie got a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, it still wouldn't do well in Box Office.  Sadly, I can bring up one prime example and it's a recent one: "Teen Titans Go to the Movies."  Despite its positive reception at 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie only made back $11.5

Comic-COn Final Day: Short and Sweet

So we're keeping it short and sweet.   With help from my brother, I was able to get into Room 6A to attend two panels. The first one was the LEGO Ninjago panel.  The reason why I did this is to meet one of the actors: Kelly Metzger, who is Spitfire on My Little Pony.  But as I saw the cartoon, I was amazed on how far it came in terms of design and color palette.  If I can find this on a streaming service, I'm gonna dedicate myself to it. And the other one was the other Cartoon Voi

Comic-Con Day 3: BATMAN DOES NOT EAT NACHOES

Some bad news.  Early ago, I failed to arrive at a Comic-Con panel mainly because of how long it took to get inside the Convention center.  So I had to spend some time exploring while I waited for my next panel: The Quick Draw panel.  Surprisingly, after I got in, more and more people came in to watch both that and the Cartoon Voices panel.  But I did go downstairs to the UCC Booth and got a Mickey Mouse Steamboat Willie figure set for myself, a Rick and Morty Pin set for my brother, along with

Comic-Con Day 2: Bringing my father along

On day two, for the first time since 2001, I was accompanied by my own father to Comic-Con.  And yes, he was with me for every panel that I went to.   First off, I was able to acquire an Autograph panel.  But I also have a better prize: I got a VIP pass for the Hasbro Booth.  I'll explain after I talk about the MLP Panel. Anyway, we secured our seats at the MLP Panel.  They talked about the new Equestria Girls special coming up, the Best Gift Ever special coming in November, and t

Comic-Con Day 1: It's Morphin Time

So here's day 1 of Comic-Con.  It started out having to wait in the hot sun to even get into the Convention Center(Yesterday, I just waited in line in the Sales Pavilion).  First thing I did was that I went to the Cyanide and Happiness Booth to meet with Austin St John: The original Mighty Morphin Power Ranger(Red, plus Zeo Ranger Gold).  Surprisingly, there was no line for him.  So while I waited, I did have a friendly chat with him, and he apparently is intrigued by the Nintendo Switch.  I gav

Comic-Con Day 0: Exactly what it says on the label

It's not much of a preview night, but it will do in a pinch.  First off, I went and got Jay Fosgitt to do a comission for me.  It will be done sometime tomorrow.  So before I go over to Petco Park to play Rocket League, I'm gonna go pick up my comission.Second off, I went ahead and checked out the Hasbro booth.  They showcased a small amount of upcoming MLP toys, including the SDCC Exclusive, the Starswirl Twilight figure, the Starlight/Trixie statue, and the upcoming Best Gift Ever figure set(G

Time to head to Comic-Con

In at least an hour, I will be heading up to the San Diego Convention Center for the 49th Annual San Diego Comic-Con.  As such, I will be posting a journal of my events there.  I will also post these events on my Deviantart Page.   Note: My plans for tonight include Jay Fosgitt, finding a gift for a relative, and playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

SMASH WATCH

For those of you who don't visit my Youtube Channel, I'm going to be doing these videos that talk about Smash Bros Ultimate.  What I will talk about the most are the newcomers to the series.     I did this video last week that talks about the initial characters that have been announced.  Which includes every character from the first four Smash Bros, plus newcomers Inkling, Daisy and Ridley. When a newcomer is announced, I will put up the words "UH-OH(Warning: New Challen

Today's Padres game at Petco Park: How to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat

So instead of attending the last day of Anime Conji, I wound up going to a Baseball game at Petco Park.  The match was the San Diego Padres(Our home team) vs the Cincinnati Reds.   The game started out with nether team making any runs, until the Reds got a Home Run in the 2nd Inning, making us a bit nervous.  Halfway through the game, the Reds were 2-0 after they got another score.  We were in trouble. And then the Padres finally decided to take it seriously.  Sooner or later, the base

Anime Conji 2/2. It's all about the voice

A much longer day than yesterday.  Mainly because it went from 10AM to 6:15PM. Alot of the panels were focused on voice actors.  Mainly because they had Voice Actors(And Directors) as Guests: Kyle Hebert, Ezra Weisz, Lia Sargent and Morgan Berry.  All 4 had panels that talked about their job as Voice Actors, how to become one, and getting into the business.   One panel that stood out was the Lip Sync battle, where a number of guests decided to  lip sync certain songs, like a Heavy Meta

Anime Conji 1/2. Wait. It's back?

So at first, I thought my next convention would be the big one: San Diego Comic-Con.  But surprise.  The Anime Conji is back.  After going on hiatus for two years, the Anime Convention came back to San Diego recently, and I have completed my first day there.   My first panel didn't start till 3PM.  It was about Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir(Currently available on Netflix).  It was hosted by voice actor Ezra Weisz, who serves as the Voice Director for the series.  But he w

No Hasbro Comic-Con Exclusives?

Every year, by this time, Hasbro has announced most of its Comic-Con exclusive line up. Last year, Bronies were disappointed in a lack of Comic-Con exclusives.  But this year, something seems odd.  Hasbro has yet to announce a single Comic-Con Exclusive.  There are only two logical conclusions I can come up with. 1) Hasbro is biding its time to announce a single Comic-Con exclusive.  This is the scenario I'm hoping for: Hasbro is simply waiting till next month to talk about its 2018 Comic-C

My own Speculation of the Season 8 Finale of My Little Pony(Spoilers)

I know, the Season 8 Finale won't be till sometime in October.  But I would like to speculate on how I think it may go down, considering that   a: Cozy Glow is slated to be the main antagonist b: Lord Tirek will return(Confirmed by his actor Mark Acheson), most likely to pull off the HijackedbyGanon trope c: And above all else:  Now, since the beginning of the year, I've been speculating on how this will all play out, and this is my personal theory.  Note: When the epi

Comic Fest Day 3: I don't need no Stinkin Ethics

As of today, the San Diego Comic Fest is once again over.   My only panels that I went to involved the following 1) Comic-Con in 1977: Back before I Was born, Comic-Con was a really cheap place to get into.  Cheaper than Comic Fest and especially cheaper than today's Comic-Con(Yeah.   I'm looking at you $300 Convention for four days).  IT wasn't as huge as today's Comic Con, but I heard there was plenty to do at the El Cortez Hotel.   I also heard that back in 1980, Comi

Comic Fest Day 2: I like thinking Big. You might as well think big.

Day 2 started after I completed today's episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.   I went over to the Political Cartoons int he Age of Trump panel.  Lalo Alcaraz was joined by David G. Brown, showcasing some of their political work.  I was able to give Lalo my political artwork(And I managed to complete another piece as well) and he actually liked it. After that, I went and saw some of the knights clash at each other similar to Comic-Con before having lunch. Later on, I wen

SD Comic Fest Day 1: I only have the best people

Today marks the first of three days at the small and simple San Diego Comic Fest, having returned back to its old home at the Town and Country Hotel and Convention center.  Most of the morning was spent doing some random drawing, but I was able to attend a few panels.  Examples include 1) Two Back-to-back panels involving Frankenstein(Including Previews and One Shot Specials) 2) A Spotlight on Lalo Alcaraz: A CArtoonist who's known for his political artwork, as well as his contribution

MY time at Wondercon 2018

Last month, I didn't catch the Season premier of MLP: School Daze.(Well I did on the way up north)  The reason: I spent most of the day at Anaheim for the 2018 Wondercon.   THe plan there was to watch a movie called Batman Ninja.  The review is at  IT was a really fun Batman Movie and one of my personal favorites.  The movie featured voice actors like Roger Craig Smith, Will Friedle, Tara Strong, Fred Tatasciore, Yuri Lowenthal, Adam Croasdell, Grey Griffin, ERic Bauza, Tom K

Starscream as an Equestria Girls Villain

For those of you who don't follow Hasbro's other well-known IP the Transformers, it's a show about heroic Autobots battling against the evil Decepticons.  They possess the ability to transform into vehicles, weapons and beasts.  In this series, Starscream usually serve as Megatron's second-in-command, only to plot to overthrow his master and become the Leader of the Decepticons(This usually results in him getting the tables turned on by Megatron). However, during my day, I though "What if S

An Equestria Girls dream I had last night

HEre's how the dream went.   It started with Sunset Shimmer falling behind on her grades, and she begins to panic.  Under my avatar Danged Spell, I volunteer to tutor her in getting another A and redeeming herself in the eyes of the teachers at school.  But one day on the big test, something goes wrong and Sunset turns into her Demon form for no reason.  She even struggles to get control.  Twilight and her friends were able to break her loose.  But the school board demands that Sunset
