Equestria Ain't Out There, People

You know, there are a great many threads on this forum regarding the multiverse and the possibility that Equestria is real and "out there" somewhere. The argument is pretty much the "infinite number of monkeys" argument. Given an infinite number of monkeys sitting at an infinite number of computer keyboards, eventually one of them has to accidentally type out, by virtue of hitting keys at random, the complete works of William Shakespeare.

To extend the thought experiment, any possible combination of words (i.e. every story ever told) would have to be produced. Good luck finding it among all those simians, though. :P

That's fine as far as it goes. But I would give you another image. Sitting at a table and having an infinite amount of time to roll a 6-sided die (die is singular, dice is plural), no matter how long you sit and roll that cuboid sucker, you ain't ever gonna get seven. I doubt any region of the multiverse is conducive to Flash-animated sentient horses.

So, is our universe an infinite number of monkeys on keyboards, or it is a roll of the die? I don't know, and I don't really need to know in order to decide. Because essentially, even if theoretically sound, the Equestria so postulated could not be reached by any foreseeable means. Which means it might as well NOT exist in the practical sense.

So, I guess my point is that we can't yearn after a vision of Equestria. We have to live here in the real world. It's got plenty of wonder and the magic of friendship to spare. Go get it.

Well actually Equestria does exist, except in an alternate plane, one separate from ours. You can enter Equestria via Sleep Paralysis, and exiting your physical body, which is in the physical plane, and thus enter a spiritual body, and enter any alternate plane, i.e. Equestria, and experience reality in a different plane.

You can also create a tulpa(e), and thus live with whatever fictional character you'd like, whilst resembling true emotions from your subconcious. An advanced imaginary friend, persay.

Someone resorting to the Multiverse Theory to 'prove' the existence of a pastel-colored equine world is really sad on their part.

Well... the subconscious isn't another plane, it's another state. Those two words are very different from each other. Being that a state resides in the same plane.

Sleep has nothing to do with the spiritual realm.  Spirits have to do with the spiritual realm.

So if you count dying as sleep, then yes.

Anywho, I like your last paragraph.

"So, I guess my point is that we can't yearn after a vision of Equestria. We have to live here in the real world. It's got plenty of wonder and the magic of friendship to spare. Go get it. "

Quite the line you have conjured up there.

And I'd have to agree, just because we can create something in this world from our heads doesn't mean it suddenly must exist somewhere.

Beautifully written.

Still, nothing can stop me from dreaming about it being real, imagining being there, or creating a tulpa so I can have an accurate copy of that character living with me who I can interact with all 5 senses (except that hallucinations can't stop matter, but I can still feel them lightly with touch)

I'm very aware the subconscious isn't a plane, that's why I separated Astral Projections and Planes, from Tulpae and their involvement in the subconscious.
