Well, it's official. I have high blood pressure.

Seven weeks of regular testing settles it. I have hypertension. :P Over the last couple of years or so I would throw out an uncharacteristically high reading. But for the most part I stayed in the safe, healthy range.

It looks like my genes have finally caught up with me. My mom had to take medication to control her blood pressure as long as I could remember. And my dad needed to take it for a time later in life. Anyway, I will continue with the regular screenings until after my upcoming trip when I see the doctor again. I'm sure I'll get a prescription for it. It's not a hard thing to treat but feel free to wish me luck anyway. :/

Luck to you. :(

It's always rough when genetics catch up. Not looking forward to it myself.

That bites.

My dad was diabetic, had sleep apnea, and high blood pressure.

It's only a matter of time before my body blows up.

My fathers side of the family is falling apart at the seams, i can only hope my mothers "strong" macho Eastern European half saves me from a life of medication . Sorry that you got handed a bad hand, hope things work out well for you!

Statins can be rough drugs. That's pretty lousy. However, it's better that they caught it early.

Well, my mother has that as well. Not only does she take pills for it, she also needs to cut back on salt in her diet.

Thanks for the support guys.  I don't know yet what medication I will get.  I'm not posting biometric data but I'm not at a "dangerously" high point.  Instead I'm at the threshold of where action needs to be taken.  Hopefully this means the medicine I get isn't something brutal and no big dietary changes are needed.  I don't add extra salt to my food so that would be kinda hard.  :/
