As we've seen over the last 8 years, we can put in whoever we want, but it's their job to do the job we voted them in for.

We can only hope the bullshit in Congress stops very soon.

I am supposed to be getting a ballot in the mail to vote here at college because I can't go home.  I want to vote...

But anyways...  I know it seems contradictory to not vote for an HRC endorsed person since I'm bi... but...

Read his wiki page. Not a comprehensive news source, but he seems pretty great in most respects (on environmental issues, social issues, education, etc,). Abolished the death penalty with good reason. Organized a protest to send tea bags to the Governer (reminiscent of Boston Tea Party). Haha. Amusing and admirable. Not sure why you want him out. 

Even had an organization called "The Coalition for Political Honesty". (Appeal to your inner AJ xD ) Why don't you like this person?

Supporting one good cause doesn't make a good candidate, but outright ignoring a good cause doesn't bode well. If they can't acknowledge different people...I wouldn't want them in office.

Plus, by the the way - Bruce Rauner doesn't have a social issues agenda.  IL already has the marriage equality law in place, and he says he's not going to change that.

I never know what to do with these sites. All the loaded words just play on emotions, and suggest sizable bias.

At some point, you make a judgement call though. And based on a quick read-up, it looks like Illinois is in good shape with non-discrimination laws.

Whoever you get, I hope they do their job well.
