Ivory thinks about shipping

As you all all know, shipping is the pairing of two characters. Either friendly, or romantic.

 

As for what I think of it? Honestly I think it is fun. :D

 

I am a fan of the "cartoon multiverse". Where if something happens in one universe the opposite, or at least something different, happens in the other. With this view I can look at each ship as equally possible. Are there some ships I don't like? Yes. However, because the multiverse is vast I can easily ignore the ships I don't like in favour to the ones I do.

 

However, than there is the "Canon". When dealing with the canon of any form of media, shipping becomes a kind of game. In which we try to guess which characters will end up together. Sometimes these ships will trickle into the media we are watching, but this is rare to say the least. However, people do get hung up on the fact that they might be right about their ship. Even though it doesn't really matter that much.

 

I view canon as just another universe in the cartoon multiverse. I don't think canon prime is inherently more important than any other version of it. Allowing for whatever fun someone wants to have.

  • Cake'nCake

 

 

 

 

So what do you guys think? Agree with my interpretation? Completely hate it? Or think I need to work on mah English? Guess what! That's what comments are for! XD

Honestly,I am a huge shipper. I have 46 ships in counting.

 

Although,I tend to avoid canon ships like the Cakes.

 

That is a lot of ships. :o I am much more passive about what I ship.

 

I included the cakes because of Silver Quill's analysis of them. They don't get that much love.

I didn't mean to suggest that you didn't. ;)

 

While I don't have any kids of my own. Being the oldest of seven sometimes feels like I am the third parent.

(not the best third parent be any means.) So I can relate to what the cakes' deal with. That is part of the reason I like the ship. But hey, That is my view. it doesn't matter to me whether or not you ship them. To each their own.

I think shipping is fun. But you need to have your priorities straight.

It's a CARTOON, and I've literally had people basically stop talking to me because I liked a ship they didn't. If you care more about your headcanon for a fictional show that you do for another human being, you have a problem.

Yeah it is unfortunate when that happens. The non-face to face way computers work can causes some problems.
