Im sorry but I have to disagree and I think this film is better then the first  because it has great character development and and much more intimidating villain. Yes Widow and Bruce's relationship was kinda out of left field, but to be honest, it was sort of there in the first one too. I have to say each Avengers is different in their own right

Avengers: Acted as climax of phase 1 and was an action film

Age of Ultron: A stand a lone Avengers, that didn't have any build up towards it . On top of that, its darker then the other  and has 3 act structure.

Im suspecting that Infinity Wars will be different 2 and 1

Again I disagree and just want to share my thoughts and I do respect your opinion, I hope you share the same respect

Hah! Respect? From me? I don't think you quite understand who you're dealing with! ...Darn it, I never know where to go with these super-villain speeches. Fine, fine, respect and all that :P

I suppose I could see the argument for people who just honestly prefer movies whose focus is more on what you're describing (character exploration, dark implications, etc.), but like I said in the video, any subject matter can be done well or done poorly, so just having those as a focus doesn't make it a superior product. And when it comes to Age of Ultron's "character development," the execution strikes me as maybe passable. Even compared to something like the first movie's development of Bruce Banner - starting out just trying to suppress the Hulk, falling lower and lower in direct response to the events of the movie with bits of back story explaining why, ultimately failing to suppress it, and finally showing us that he's accepted it, with the revelation that he could have let it out any time - what we get here is less woven into the story than it is pointed out amidst the jumble, rarely playing out to full effect.

The first Avengers focused on the action, the adventure, and the characters' turmoil over the events taking place, and it nailed all three. This one has several subplots that could have amounted to more if they weren't all flying by so quickly (and I would probably disagree that it's closer to the 3 act structure, since it sort of has 4th and arguably even 5th acts, where the first one weaves everything into a structure of "preparation," "initial failure," and "triumphant recovery").

Anyway, in case I don't hear back from you, thanks for watching and for sharing the perspective. It's always interesting to think these things over.
