Plot:
As Twilight Sparkle needs to nap, Spike tries to keep noise away. However, power starts going to his head and he starts trying to make all her decisions, leading to crap happening in Canterlot.
The Good:
Let's see, things I liked about this episode.. well, there was some nice humor here and there, especially the ending gag, and other funny moments with Twilight being tired. I also liked how Cadance actually showed a bit of character here. I mean, I like her, but I do gotta admit she's kind of a Mary Sue status, at least within her first appearances. I also think this episode was actually paced pretty well. It didn't feel too slow paced or too fast paced, just.. right. Also, Fancy Pants returned. That's nice to see.
The Bad:
My main problem with this episode is.. it's another "Spike messes up" episode. Again. And he's characterized rather poorly at that. He's portrayed as clumsy and greedy.. again, even though I'm pretty sure he learned not to be greedy.. 3 seasons ago in Secret of my Excess. The whole "Spike is a clumsy and greedy idiot" is overall becoming redundant, especially considering there's more to him than that. It kind of sucks, really, especially considering he's a character I like to see, but he's usually written better as a supporting character than he is as a main character. Heck, even some of my favorite Spike episodes, such as Equestria Games, still have huge problems. Even with that aside, this episode has a few other problems with things being contrived. For one, the dragon sneezing tree. Uh, what was the point of it existing? Does Canterlot some how have a problem with dragons? Then why hasn't it been shown before? It just felt forced to move the plot along.
The Ugly:
Gilda didn't represent Griffonstone? 0/10, Put in Cory.
Overall Opinions:
Didn't care for this one. It had some good points, but it just felt like another "Spike being a clumsy and greedy idiot" kind of episode, which left a sour taste in my mouth. While it was slightly better than Appleoosa's Most Wanted, it was overall a rather meh episode.
Overall Rating: 4.5/10 (Okay)
