こんにちは、皆さん!^-^ The Japanese word for the day is...*drum roll*

笑いのツボ、(わらいのツボ)、warai no tsubo

I thought this was funny! I know I've been "labor shamed" by my mom for not doing her a favor. "I only carried you for nine month; room and board for free." :P

いみ(meaning):Sense of humor

The queen of humor herself! She could not not be mentioned, haha. xD

れいぶん(example sentence):私は彼女の笑いのツボが好きです。watashi wa kanojo no warai no tsubo ga suki desu.

ほんやく(translation):I like her sense of humor.

I thought this word was really neat. :P You can describe people's sense of humor with a plethora of adjectives; odd, dark, sarcastic, hilarious, kooky etc.

Any and all questions about the language are welcomed in the comments section or through PM! Heads up: there may or may not be a Japanese word of the day tomorrow (Saturday). じゃあ、またね!^-^

A sensei (先生) is a teacher or an instructor. I suppose it depends on the context of "master". If you are referring to someone in a higher, more respectable position than yourself, for example a maid addressing the head of house, one might use the suffix -sama (様), although this can also be used to express great admiration.

so what is 'Master' in japanese? sensei?

Wubtavia is correct -- せんせい (sensei) can mean master in some contexts and さま (sama) can as well. ^-^ In addition to Wubtavia explanation, a word that translates directly as master is the word 主 (shu).
